Cal Mestre Casa Rural is a wonderful place, very relaxing and has a stunning view on local vineyards with a private pool. We called it a hidden gem in a very traditional Spanish village. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with luxurious bathrooms. The breakfast was very rich in local fresh products and ingredients. We absolutely loved everything here, and will definitely come back again. The hosts are very friendly, and offer great hospitality.

The place is beautiful, very well decorated and quiet.. The only down side but quite a big one is the attitude of the owner.. We arrived late (10pm) while check-in time was until 8 but we didn’t pay attention to this detail. He said he tried to contact us, which is probably true even if I didn’t receive any message nor call.. no email, no message on booking either. When we arrived we got reprimanded like kids for quite a while, even after apologizing.. after all it was only 2 hours late.. Next morning after a dip in the pool was sitting on the terrace having coffee and was asked coldly to wear more clothes for hygiene reasons.. Quite embarrassing. Didn’t see a smile for the whole stay from him either.

Beautiful room and great views. Room was dark and cool- resulting in some of the best sleep we had in Spain. expertly decorated. Owned by very friendly and helpful couple. loved the small town feel.

Natalie and Michael are some of the most wonderful hosts I've had the pleasure to stay with. And their hotel is one of the most beautiful and comfortable stays we have ever experienced. The view from our patio was breathtaking! Additionally, the homemade dinner and breakfast were perfect and the best meals we had in Barcelona. I could not recommend more highly including Cal Mestre Casa Rural in any vacation to Barcelona.

We had an amazing stay, very friendly owners, who also provide an excellent diner and breakfast. The room was very clean, it's a very old building with lots of character.
Maybe only small negative point, there is not a lot to do in the village, so you need a car to get around.

We stayed in the Cave Room which was absolutely spectacular. The pool was beautiful and the view, stunning.
We felt that the hosts had certain expectations for how guests should behave that weren’t communicated which led to some awkward experiences for us as guests.

The accomodation is very close to Barcelona by car. The suite is very nice and the views from the hotel are amazing.
The swimming pool area could be more clean & comfortable and the dinner could be improved very much.

The location was quiet and peaceful. Very nice to have a pool and the large bathtub. The space was rustic with updated items and recently renovated. The owners were very helpful. If you are looking for a quiet space to get away from Barcelona or the cava houses this is the spot to stay at.

Everything was super overwhelming, Nathalie and Machiel were super welcoming and kind to us after a long drive down to Spain, the conversations and getting to know them were extremely pleasurable and we had a great time because the room and the property were just outstanding. We will definitely try to come back again.

The decoration and illumination are exquisite.
The spaces are extremely warm and comfortable.
Maybe the lights are very warm but too dim to read a book in the bed for example...

Cal Mestre felt like the perfect cross between a bed and breakfast and a top-tier hotel! It was intimate, clean, comfortable and the views were stunning. There is really nothing that I would've changed about it. One note: a car is highly recommended. Cal Mestre is located in a very small town so limited public transportation but that only adds to the charm of it!

Beautifully and tastefully renovated country house with a wondelful pool area.
Best thing was the breakfast with freshly baked rolls and the barbecue dinners overlooking the vineyards and with views to Montserrat.

At Cal Mestre we were wonderfully welcomed with our dog. We recommend everyone to have a romantic dinner on the terrace of the hotel. From there you can enjoy a wonderful wide view of the Penedes. The hotel is lovingly and tastefully decorated and the kitchen even offers vegan high-quality cooking. At Cal Mestre, everything is prepared with the heart.

Gorgeous location, amazing town and house ; tastefully decorated with the most amazing views over Cava vineyards and Monserrat in the distance. The hosts are very kind and you can feel the passion and love for their corner of paradise in Les Gunyoles. We could stay too long but will certainly come back !

I love the owners of the place. Super nice. Super friendly and open minded. The rooms are cozy. The atmosphere is very home like. So I felt very well there. Bed is good. Air con in the room but really no need as fresh air is coming from the window. The village is small and quite and very nice to walk around. People are super friendly. There is a family wine factory but make sure you book in advance if you want a tour. The house has its history which is cute. And on the territory there are 2 lovely dogs. In general - If you need some rest and want to forget about noices of the city - it’s your place!
All pictures you see about the place are exactly as they are.
I am a curvy girl and to enter the shower (which is huge) there is a glass that makes the entrance narrow. BUT it’s not an issue as it’s a matter of how you enter. I mean if you are above 200 kg then you might want to have a room with a tub instead.

I booked a room which showed private swimming pool in the room facilities detail, but the next day the owner told me the pool wasn’t private but share with other guest.
That’s totally a fraud. Then I asked for refund, they rejected me and also with the super rude attitude texting me by WhatsApp.
This is the worst experience I’ve ever had on Booking.com. I always travel with the private pool which should only used by me. Now I’m really disappointed.

I like absolutely everything about this place. So calm and beautiful, with a lot of nature, wonderful design, cozy rooms and huge bathrooms. Swimming pool available and the bar next to the pool. And the owners are very friendly people, makes you feel like home 😌
