The kindness of the staff

The structure is immersed in a slightly isolated reed bed, but I think it can be appreciated by some. The room was small, acceptable for one night, but nothing more. A three star hotel in Italy. I am writing this review only because the rating is not at all from 9, as it was displayed by the numerous reviews. I think it is the responsibility of us guests, respecting the work of the staff of the structures we visit, to give objective judgments and to help others make the right choices. it is not always possible to stay in top structures, a bit for budget or for situations (high season and need to find last minute one night accommodation, therefore without pretensions) and there is no problem. But you have to be aware of what you are buying. And believe me, unless you have never seen an 8 or 9 structure, it is impossible to give this more than 7.

We love Valena Mare. It is a charming, beautifully landscaped, tastefully and comfortably furnished property that we have had the extreme pleasure of returning again to this year. We have stayed in many lovely comfortable apartment suites all over the Cycladic islands but we have decided that the the comfort and family suites at Valena Mare are the loveliest. Elena, The manager of Valena Mare is a thoughtful, kind, hard working professional who goes out of her way to please and delight her guests in every way possible. The breakfast feast is extraordinarily delicious and generous.The bed was so comfortable and the suite so homey. The on site pool is so lovely with its gentle shallow part and the wavy part. Surrounded by beautiful plants and trees , the hotel is perfect but one has also the magical option of spending marvelous moments on fabulous plaka beach.

The room is nicely decorated, with a modern bathroom and provides a kitchenette with everything you need. We really enjoyed the pool area surrounded by lots of trees and plants.

The location is very remote and hard to move around, the only way to get to nearest bus stop is a 15 min+ walk through the beach. Not recommended unless you have a car or are planning to spend lots of time in the hotel and nearby beach.

The room was very quiet, confortable and clean, very charming place. The fresh fruits platter at the arrival was very welcomed and nice. We have been very well welcomed, we recommend!

The hotel is at 15min from Chora by car, not so many restaurants next to the hotel

Cute little villa complex about 20 minutes away from the main drag of Naxos Town. Elena the host was amazing and told us the best way we should spend our four days on the island with restaurant recommendations (which were all spot-on), taxi bookings and even helped us out when our scooter broke down. Our room had a balcony and hot tub which was perfect for relaxing at the end of the day and watching the sun-set. Pool area was perfect for some sand-free time and there is an amazing bakery up the road. Definitely need a car or quad to get here and around though. Rooms were simple but clean and the surrounding gardens are really lovely and welcome break from the dusty surrounding farmlands.

The pool was great and made the property worthwhile. The lady at reception was very helpful and passionate about the island and gave some great advise and tips for everything you could think of. The room was perfectly adequate for everything we needed

It would have been great for the pool bar to be open, or at least have the option to purchase drinks. The road to the property is very bumpy and unmade We felt the kitchen in the room was a little tatty and detracted from the room.

Room was cozy and very nice, we had view on the country side which I like as much as sea view. The garden around the building is very well maintened, staff was nice and polite and very helpful. We will definitely come back!

The breakfasts were excellent and filling. The pool was large and the lounges comfortable. The dense plantings made it a refuge from the surrounding farmlands. There were many excellent restaurtants and tavernas in the broader area of Plaka. The staff truely were pet friendly as advertised. The beach is an easy, flat walk away. The kitchen was sufficiently well-equipted to allow for in suite dining.

The space alotted for parking was insufficient and difficult to use when full. A larger sign at the turnoff would assist in finding the place. More drawer space is needed.

The villa was perfect with a stunning garden area around a beautiful pool. The room was great with a cave shower and a balcony with sunset views. Glad we rented a car to explore around the island.

The bed was very firm but that’s down to personal preference.
