This was the perfect location for a short family trip. The locals are friendly the location safe. Walking distance to the river, beach and the famous Luquillo kiosks. Will definitely return.

We wanted away from the big resorts and this place was perfect! Jesus and Yanira have an amazing little compound in the heart of real Puerto Rican Culture. We were a few minutes walk away from what was basically a private beach. To our surprise there is a nice little bar on the beach that was perfect. There’s a river that ends into the ocean with views of the mountains that are breath taking. We took an afternoon swim at the pool on the property and spent some late evening hours on the backyard deck listening to the waves and night creatures and the Roosters! The rooms were clean and spacious and we felt very safe.

We loved this little apartment and location. Not too far from exploring activities in the area. Lots of beaches and restaurants to choose from to keep yourself in awe of all the beauty PR has. Jesus is one of the best hosts. Always available at anytime to ensure you have everything you need for your stay.

Overall we were quite happy with the 2 bedroom unit. Fortuna beach is about 5 minutes from the property and we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise. Luquillo beach is about 5 minute drive from the property. Don't forget to visit the Carabali rainforest park nearby (reserve your horse ride prior to arriving).

I fell in LOVE with A Pasos, as well as the most amazing host! Jesus and Yanira felt like family from the minute we arrived. The apartment was cozy, clean and surrounded with the beautiful sounds and breeze of the nearby beach, a 2 minute walk to Playa Fortuna and the beautiful Mameyes River. We loved waking every morning, make a nice cup of coffee and sip it out on the patio (made by Yanira!!!) The backyard sanctuary is surround with lush palms and the sounds that you only hear on this island. Grab a bite at the nearby, 6 minute drive, to the kiosks of Luquillo. This trip was a memorial and celebration of the life my grandmother lived, we came to the island that she was born and raised in remembrance of her. We also hadn’t been on the island in 40 years, so this was a very special trip for the four of us, and I will forever be grateful and cherish Jesus and Yanira for making our stay and our trip so much more memorable. I’ll be back so very soon and I will always choose A Pasos. Live with the locals, cleanse in the river and bask in the glorious sun. A true blessing!!!

For anyone concerned with security of their unit and parking lot: need not be concerned. It’s gated to the parking lot and we the renters have our own key to the property locks to both the pool area and parking lot. Also, no key required to your unit. Each renter has their own pass code which makes it very convenient! Home away from home with all the amenities. We all enjoyed our stay!

going to keep it short and simple …want a great place to stay with the locals…STAY HERE…want a great set of hosts that will absolutely meet your every need…STAY HERE….want a clean great place to sleep safe and sound ….STAY HERE…..want a great beach and outdoor private area with pool…DEFINITELY STAY HERE….this has been one of the absolute best vacation rentals i have ever experienced….the hosts were beyond hosts…they make you feel like a family member with the attitude and attention to detail…. very friendly and sooo attentive to all our needs it almost felt as if i were checking into a five star resort …..again if you read this review …i don’t know how else to explain that if a simple but great vacation rental is what you need…look no further …this is it…i promise you you won’t regret it…and i’m a frequent traveler with tons of reviews this place hands down is 10 star in every single air b and b rental expectations…my forever go to rental when ever i go to PR which is every two months …i wish i can provide my pics to show why i’m was so pleased, the best stay ever

Hosts are very welcome and helpful. All inquiries were answered almost immediately. The apartments have everything for a comfortable stay with the family. Fortuna beach is very close. 2 minutes walk. However, it is not suitable for swimming with children due to large waves and wind. Nearby there is a beach where it is more comfortable to swim. This is playa azul at the end of Calle Ocean Drive. Drive 10 minutes by car. it is advisable to try pinchos and burgers, which are made at the turn with the main road to the apartments. Near the El Yunque National Forest. San Jose is about 30 minutes by car. We slept very well. The first days then there were roosters, but we stopped noticing them. There are many abandoned houses nearby. It's a little scary at first, but then you get used to it. Next to living residents of the city, they greet and behave in a friendly manner. The apartments fully consider their price! We had a great holiday!

We enjoyed our stay in a good location between San Juan and the east coast of the island, which allowed us to both visit the city and go to Culebra without having to drive for too long. The hosts were very helpful and tried to make everything easy for us so that we could make the most out of our stay.

As advertised by the owner, everything is literally walking distance. The river Mameyes and the beach Fortuna is only minutes away with a beautiful view as well as Luquillo kiosks and El Yunque. The only two things we did not find appealing is the neighborhood and having to walk outside the complex through the street to get to the pool which is not safety for the guests. Even though it was a minute away walking distance, you had to go through three gates to access the pool. I would recommend to either get access between both yards or simply buy another pool so each of the two buildings has one. Also, a BBQ would come in handy. Other than that, it's a very relaxing place to be. We enjoyed it.

The apartment was very clean and located steps away from a great beach. The owner was very responsive and helpful throughout booking, check-in, and the stay.

It's a comfortable condo unit in a local community, very close to the water. It's pretty much as advertised. The unit managers are very accessible and friendly. The only negative was that the neighborhood was not great and gets noisy, especially on the weekend. It's not an ideal location if you are a light sleeper, like me. Windows facing the oceanside have hurricane shutters but no glass. I would recommend glass windows behind the shutters to keep out the noise. There was a neighbor that parties late into the night. Even roosters and dogs seem to stay up all hours of the night :) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Yanira and Jesus are doing a wonderful job managing their properties.

Overall, this property was simple and in a good location for access to just about anything on the NE side of the island. If you are into the resort life, yet don't stay at a resort, the Wyndham is about 5 mins away. They have several great restaurants, a casino and 2 golf courses. Check it out, if that is your jam. Also, you are right next to the kiosks on the Luquillo Beach. More restaurants than you can possibly visit in a 7-day trip. Very cool, a must see. If that doesn't interest you, there are a number of restaurants along PR3 that offer awesome local food and drink. Or take the 45 mins and drive to San Juan and check out the history there. Like the Casa Bacardi tour! So, in summary. This is a nice little apartment, good A/C and in a great location. They have a 32" Roku TV if you want to stream a service (we just cast our iPad/iPhone), or just watch Roku TV (free). The WiFi connection is nice and strong. The other apartment guests are usually doing the same as you, so they are great to chat with. The backyard is a beautiful place to hang out, and a pool if you so desire. There is one small couch and a small table for two. A microwave, stove and refrigerator. The beach is within walking distance. It is gated (like most places in PR) and the gate is manual, so getting used to opening it takes a little getting used to, and parking. Recommendations: There is all the amenities of apartment living, so plan accordingly. You will likely need a rental car, taxis and Uber are too expensive. Also, a stop at a grocery store to get the items needed, including alcohol. We went to Famcoop, which is about 5 mins to the west from the apartment, they had everything you need (except beef sticks, couldn't find those anywhere). Also, Walgreens (right by Luquillo Beach) and several fast food options is about 5 mins to the East, if you need anything there, like food, drink, beach towels, Zantac and more alcohol. Have fun!!

The property was very clean, neat and convenient. It was very nice hearing the ocean waves at night while going to sleep. The property was meticulous, very safe and the neighborhood very quiet and calm. The only suggestions I have is more counter/shelf space. For the amount of beds having more places to put things would've helped. Also, having a few additional towels and more toilet paper would've also been helpful. Lastly, a list of places to eat nearby, beach access could've helped. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Place was clean and secure. There's a gate for the building and a lockbox to the door which made checking in easy. Hosts were great at communicating and ensured I had everything I needed.

We had a great trip staying at Apasos . We enjoyed the private pool and backyard and deck. It was so quiet you could hear the ocean and being very close to it helps.

We really enjoyed staying here. the location is great to easily access beaches, restaurants, shopping. Also great location for a day trip into the rain forest, as well as going into S.J. The apartment is as described online and we liked to stay there. The hosts are amazingly friendly and supportive to find local gems. Go there, if you want to have a good time; you won't regret it

Owner was great, apartment has wifi and was cute and clean. Pool next door was small but clean and well kept and is amazing to look into the 'jungle' when floating. Back yard was pleasant and the outside shower was perfect for washing sand off. The neighborhood was typical with some beautiful houses next to some ranshackle ones. There were cats and chickens and friendly dogs around. The highlight was the short walk to the beach (nice sun rises) and a spot where you can swim where the Rio Grande empties into the ocean - be sure to visit at both low and high tide to compare. The water is clean and it is really cool to sit in a spot and feel the warm sea water on one side and then the cooler river water from the rain forest on the other. Our teens did not want to leave and my husband and I were just as enchanted!

First time in Luquillo and Jesus was cool, attentive and resourceful. The apartment was as described and super clean. Walking distance to beach, true Puerto Rican beach living.

This place was perfect for what we were looking for. Close to everything including the kiosks! Jesus was more than accommodating and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
