Staff were friendly on arrival and plenty of parking.
The downside was the accommodation, the room was very small, drab decor,dark, door stuck and struggled to open with the key, lots of marks and plaster damaged in many places, attempts to patch up with paint didn't match. The shower head was covered in mould. TV's are old fashioned. The road was very noisy from where we were in room 2. Needs money spent on the rooms to upgrade to a good standard. A travelodge would be an upgrade.
Dissapointing as the booking.com score seems ridiculous based on our experience. The photos don't lie.

Excellent accommodation, Evening meal was superb and staff where helpful and friendly.

Breakfast did not have a 'cooked' option however a good selection of fruits, cereals, toast, croissants etc. was more than enough to satisfy - and arguably the healthier option. :)
The bathroom was cold - no heating in there and the tile floor was COLD! We turned the room heating up when we arrived from 10 to find rather than the radiators working, there was one small electric heater that clicked on and off to try and heat two rooms, we had to leave the bathroom door open in an attempt to get some warmth in there. The next day when we returned at 5pm, we found the cleaner had been in and turned the heating down to 10 again - not ideal

Despite being alongside an ‘A’ road, the bedrooms were in an annex in a courtyard away from the road so there was absolute quiet at night. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available in the room. We ate breakfast (continental) which was an added amount and dinner on both nights which was excellent - a large selection of dishes available. The staff were all very friendly and courteous.
The mattress despite being quite firm did go downhill in the middle.

Friendly staff, both evening and breakfast available at property. They also let me into breakfast early so I could get on my way. Have stayed here on a number of occasions and they always deliver 5 star service.

Be aware that rooms above pub are accessed by a very steep staircase however staff readily offered help with luggage and there are several ground floor rooms in the courtyard.

Clean tidy plenty parking, table reserved if your a guest for the evening, nice size room. Plenty food choice in restaurant, friendly staff.
No plugs near bed to charge mobile phones, not enough plug sockets, also room was very hot above pub we were in room in the roof section, but they did supply fan.

It was fine - I had an evening meal - it was a busy pub so very popular with the locals - which is always good to see.
Wifi / Phone signal is bad in the rooms - so I couldn't work which I have never had before - I couldn't even do a hot spot from my phone.

The continental breakfast was comprehensive and good value. The room was a very good size and well thought out. We enjoyed the menu, our food choices, and the range of drinks on offer. Very busy bar / restaurant, but with a good atmosphere and prompt, courteous service.
I did not realise that a cooked breakfast was not available. Breakfast coffee was poor.

The room was lovely. Fab shower. We didn't need to disturb the pub users as we had a separate access and exit.

Absolutely loved the staff they were so amcomadating and so friendly. Breakfast was lovely would definitely visit again..
Just one small thing the bed we were in could be changed as its quite noisy when getting in and when you move through the night..

Dinner was a fantastic choice of dishes very helpful with dietary requests. Breakfast was amazing amount of choice for a continental breakfast 😋
