Just back from belmar . This was our long awaited summer family trip to the beach.we booked through booking. Com because we have been happy with the site before here & overseas. However I am sorry to say this booking ruined our only family trip this summer . The house was nothing like the photos, it was run down, dirty & unsafe. The air conditioning did not work in one room, so my daughter was forced to sleep on a futon which had no mattress protector. The sofa was fabric also & , this is impossible to keep clean especially with pets & multiple families in & our. The fan in the other bedroom was thick with dust . There was no outlet cover In the family room. Dirt was swept under the rug. There were no toiletries as advertised, & only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper & 1/2 roll of paper towels. The bed pillows were torn exposing the stuffing. There was a blood stain on one of the mattress covers. A window pane in the family room was broken & could not be locked .We were pretty upset & disgusted after paying $2100 for 4 nights. We covered the sofas & beds with our own linens & blankets because we were so skeeved out. We slept in full clothes to protect our skin. As you can imagine Nobody slept well or could really relax. In light of this awful experience I am requesting a full refund. We can only go by the photos & descriptions provided. We trust that booking. Com checks these properties & only approves safe & clean properties.

Location was okay; Belmar is sweet little town and the location is great; easily accessible to other shore towns nearby.

The house was not worth the money paid for it. It had cockroaches (the owner sent out pest control twice) there were old socks on the floor when we arrived, and a random shoe under a chair in the front room. The kitchen was not properly stocked with utensils and had one small pot for cooking. The circuit breaker kept tripping if you were operating the coffe pot and the microwave simultaneously! One bedroom had the double bed and box spring on the floor, and the air conditioner in that room sounded like it was ready to explode. One of the windows was cracked, and some were not lockable. There was about an inch of dust on the ceiling fan blades in the small bedroom, and one of the comforters had a recent blood stain on it. The owner seemed very nice, but clearly needs some serious updating to this house for anyone to want to come back and stay here. There is a great front deck attached to the house, but the furniture is pitiful and should be thrown away! Definitely not interested in coming back here!

The property was close by and available on the days that we needed it to be so that was great. plus the price was reasonable.

Our main issue with the complete lack of communication from the primary contact we were given. The Internet was not working upon arrival, we attempted multiple times to contact the host for help. We received no answer throughout the entire stay. Secondly, the property did have some minor issues upon arrival. The sink stopper in the bathroom sink would not work. The weatherstripping at the bottom of the front door ripped off while we were there. Theres an old stain on the mattress cover in the first bedroom. The black garbage cans had a broken lid which led to squirrels and other animals managing to knock it over and spill the garbage all over the deck.
