Family had a great time, easy walking distance to the pier and local ice cream shops. Next to a public beach access though, a lot of people coming and going during the day.

Perfect location for family to stay together right on the beach and close to restaurants. Bikes and beach chairs provided. We were good but property does have a lot of stairs so need to take that into consideration. Rental company was great to work with.

The house was in ok condition. But the trash can was full in the kitchen, the freezer had stuff spilled in it. The coffee maker had not been emptied and the shower curtain downstairs had mold on it. Just for the price I paid, I expected better.

Property nice but listing is outdated. Color of house different, no Keurig that we saw, coffee pot needs replaced, at least one shower curtain mildewed - and we were given a wrong access code. Considering the off season and the above, felt the pricing was too high

Perfect house for large group. Well stocked, great management team, super location. Sleeps 12 at most with comfort (2 in all beds except twin and double bunk). DO NOT RENT IF YOU ARE NOT A STAIR CLIMBER!

Wonderful house that caters to an adult family with a small children. King bedrooms to set a great environment, kids room, beautifully equipped, access to beach is short and easy. Loved this house. It just needs more forks and an elevator!!! Thats all! 🥰

Family group ages 9 months to 75 enjoyed this clean perfectly located home. Close enough to pier to enjoy walkable coffee & restaurants but far enough away so activity didn't spill over onto the beach out front. Management company was fantastic responding to texts within minutes. Home exactly as pictured. Would definitely rent again!

House was very clean. Great location and views. The access to the beach was awesome for kids to go down and play in the waves while we sat on deck and watched them. Walking distance to many restaurants was great. Thanks cor a great getaway!

We have been renting beach houses for 11+ years and are posting this because of an extremely negative and unusual experience with this particular owner/realtor (note the realty company, Starfish owns the property and was advertising on VRBO). There were some issues with the house such as worn comforters, dirty air filters, missing grout in the bathrooms, marked walls and stained curtains throughout, some one else’s worn shoes on top of the refrigerator, trash underneath one of the beds. However, the main issue we had was with the rental contract that was not standard in addition to an owner who took EVERY opportunity to add additional charges (checkout Yelp for similar complaints) hiding beyond the excuse of a contract that allows her to overcharge. We left the house assuming a cleaning crew would come in to do such basic things as making the beds, unloading the dishwasher, putting away a couple of hand washed dishes and taking out the trash. Instead, we were charged hundreds of dollars for petty items such as not replacing the comforter neatly and leaving 2 dirty dishes on the counter. We also requested from the owner/realty company a breakdown of the additional charges by item to determine how these items could amount to the extra costs and they were never sent. When we questioned the charges and expressed our surprise, we were met with hostility, stubbornness and an overall lack of willingness to work with us (her guests) all while she continued to reference back to the fact that we signed the contract so oh well, too bad. It went so far as the owner researching our professional careers online (very creepy by the way) and telling us we should know better and calling us unprofessional (her guests)! In fairness, and she will bring this up in her response, our small dog who we paid to bring did have an accident in one of the bedrooms when there was a severe thunder storm one night. Following the trip, we offered to pay for the carpet cleaning which we thought was more than generous especially since we paid extra for her in the first place. Instead, the owner charged us several hundred dollars for the items mentioned above (basically equivalent to an extra night) with no detailed explanation and still without a breakdown. We are astounded that this owner is in the hospitality space and that this is the way she treats her guests. This seems this is this her M.O. and atypical so please beware!

We had 12 people in our party including a toddler. We never felt cramped between the two decks and the family room. This place worked great for a large family. The beach is only steps away from the back door. The decks are well furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture making it a great place to hang out and enjoy the view. We had a wonderful week in Surf City and we were very comfortable at the Sparrows Beach Nest.

This is a wonderful ocean-front home right in the heart of Surf City. You can walk to all of the great spots in Surf City. The beach access from the back deck is perfect, and there are great views from inside the home. The home was very clean, well furnished, and prepared for our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

A great holiday house, direct beach access and spacious. The spa bath on the middle floors was great on rainy days.

This house served as the perfect backdrop for a gathering of family and friends. The porch over looking the ocean was utterly fantastic. The house was very comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Plenty of large common space and 6 nice bedrooms. The property mgmt team was exceedingly helpful before and during our stay. The view from the house was so spectacular we hardly left the premises.

Sparrow's Beach Nest was the perfect place to stay with parents and grown children for our wedding. There were lots of chairs on the decks, and the public lot next door made for easy parking. We loved watching the sun rise and set from the top deck, and the large hot tub had plenty of room for anyone who wanted to use it. The kitchen is fully stocked to feed a small army, with loads of serving trays and bowls, and even a wine refrigerator. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the bathrooms were clean. It's a short pleasant walk to the coffee shops and restaurants. Should we ever need a large place at the beach again, we'll be looking here first.

WE had a great time after all the drama of getting there because of the hurricane. Half our family in Colorado had already changed their plans. The home was beautiful but a lot of stairs. We had everything we needed including a crib and highchair for our great granddaughter. The weather was beautiful. We wish the owner would have let us change our date to the spring so we could of all been together. But we made the best of a bad situation. Over all it was a great house and location.

Everything was great, relaxing place and great beach access. The only issue was the last floor bedroom could not be used it was too cold and heater did not work. But overall everything was wonderful.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful trip. The cottage is fully stocked with everything we needed and is perfect for accommodating large families! We had 10 adults and 5 kids under the age of 5 and the house was perfect. Everyone had their own space and we never felt like we were overcrowded. The bedding, furniture, baby crib, high chairs were all in great shape. We loved the location. We could walk to the pier, shops and restaurants. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. The perfect place!

The house is laid out well with 3 floors of living space. The bottom bedroom has total privacy and then one bedroom on the "living" level by the kitchen which was also great. Any issues we had during our stay were taken care of immediately by the property management company with ease. GREAT home for a big group family vacation!

Listing was not clear about sheets and towels, which should be included as part of price. Bathrooms needed trash cans.kitchen needed new utensils, etc. other than those little items, which would make it pefect, house and beach were great. Location perfect. Plenty of living space. Great deck. Great deck chairs. Would stay there again.
