Perfect little cottage which we found clean and inviting. Compact but with everything we needed - very clean with comfy bed and great shower room. Super views down to the canal and a relaxing outdoor seating area was a treat...as was the garden golf. We were interested to hear about the history of the cottage and Neil was a most friendly and helpful host. Southfield Cottage was ideally located in Braunston with some super canal walks from the door as well as a few pubs!

Nothing to dislike.

Brilliant location for exploring the canal network and surrounding area both on foot and by road.. Cottage was cosy and well equipped for our stay. The bed was comfy and shower was great with plenty of hot water . Underfloor heating and stove made a great difference making it extra homely. Cottage is well equipped to cook daily if that would be your choice. 4 good local pubs within 10 to 20 minutes walk or a couple of minutes drive. Plenty of interesting surrounding places to walk for example Borough Hill or Daventry country park but both need a car. Local walks round the village can keep you occupied for a couple of hours each one and maps are available at the marina. This cottage is dog heaven as there's a big paddock at the back leading on to a field which leads to the canal and marina.. Fabulous..

There's nothing negative that stands out.

Lovely cottage, very warm and cosy. Under-floor heating or option to light wood burner. Clean, comfortable with plenty of hot water. Good Wi-Fi connection. Easy to walk down to the canal, or sit on the patio and enjoy the view. Owner there with friendly greeting on arrival - always available, but not intrusive. Handy book with lots of helpful information about the cottage and the local area. Pub close-by serves food, great Sunday lunch.

Only thing I missed was a microwave, but managed easily without one.

Welcome, cleanliness, style and decor, views, comfort everywhere, privacy yet certain if we needed anything our host would be more than willing to help, fire, ..wildlife, the canal....it was truly special and felt happy and relaxed. Also good to learn it's history and feel connected with that.

We liked everything, to say the least!
