I like the bamboo room in the forest, it is very special. also it is near the river, very enjoyable to be waken up by bird singing.

i can't stay long time at balcony in the evening because there are lot of mosquito.

if you like to be closer to nature and be at a peaceful place, bamboo turtles ecolodge is the place for you wonderful staff, beautiful lodge, the have everything you need. just book this accommodation

The location is exceptional n the cottage interior is ok

The management needs to be better - less staff no arrangements of kitchen will cause issues with guest. also little coordination is required to make this a better place

Bamboo Turtles Ecolodge that blends flawlessly with its environment exceeded my expectations. Great location, quiet, easy to get in and out of the city. They ensure the guest is happy and satisfied. They are always available and open to all questions. But Wayan went beyond and made my stay unforgettable. There are many things that we will never forget and times that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Memories of Wayan and Ketut will never fade!

The river was nice, the staff were nice. We were able to rent a scooter directly from them The bathroom experience was nice since its technically outside

the location is very close to the nature and beautiful vegetation around the lodges. staff is very friendly and helpful

1. the rooms has no fridge so you cannot drink something cold to refresh 2. the bed has only a sheet to cover and because in the rainy season you maybe feel a little cold you need to use the blanket that doesn’t look to be changed after each guest and is a little bit dusty 3. the decor over the bed is very dusty and has a smell of unventilated 4. the towels are not being changed daily and in a rainy season when humidity is high you will not have a dry towel to use in the evening 5. breakfast is poor , better to skip it and enjoy the surroundings 6. price is too high for the facilities they offer and in the same range you can find more iconic locations

A quiet hidden place with two cute hosts welcome us. The manager is so nice and helpful. The breakfast is simple but tasty with local style. Live in a nature with style. Must to try a spa in the woods.

First time is hard to find the way in.

Quiet place overlooking a small jungle. Very helpful and friendly staff. The lady prepared us amazing breakfasts and always gave advice. Bungalow always tidy. We have nothing to complain about. We will be happy to come back if possible.

The rooms are absolutely awesome! The place in general it's absolutely beautiful and what Ubud is about. The bathroom is awesome. The Indonesian breakfast was the best I tried in Bali. The balcony is a must. One of the best experiences in Bali for sure.

The place was an additional attraction itself due to its concept, nature. Love the purpose of all details, how they care about keeping everything natural, eco-friendly, respectfully. Can't even thank enough to staff, how smily, friendly helpful they are. Definitely will be back.

A bit far from ubud center ,but not a big deal if you ride a motorbike or get the taxi, which is living next door.

It was very quiet and peaceful, out of the hustle. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. Comfortable and clean room.

It’s such a unique stay!! All the lodges are fairly spaced so you have good privacy and the maintenance of the grounds is great. Truly a pretty Bali escape. The only issue is it’s quite far from main attractions or food places but you can order a Gojek and it’ll take you where you need to go. Wayan the host was wonderful, she helped us with our dinner by recommending a wonderful hotel restaurant very nearby the lodges. She drove us there on her bike and we had a wonderful night with delish food.

It’s very outdoorsy so be prepared for bugs in the bathroom! Our room was relatively safe although my partner had a lot of bites in the morning despite sleeping with the mozzie net.

The hut was cute!

- my wife was super allergic in the room. She's allergic to dust mites and cats. It was so bad so we had to leave and find a new accommodation. - the water temperature for the shower was impossible to adjust: either cold or extremely hot - the swimming pool wasn't open

We loved this hotel. The location by the river is stunning. It’s about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Ubud but it feels like you are completely in the jungle. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful balcony and hammock overlooking the river. The staff were so helpful and accommodating - they helped with all our questions/requests and had lots of recommendations for things to do and how to organise it. Breakfast was delicious and there were many different options. We would recommend this hotel very highly. Thank you for having us!

The only thing I would change is that the spare bed in our room could have been more comfortable.

Nice place to stay Good for leisure

We had an amazing stay at the Bamboo Turtles Ecolodge. Wayan helped us out with everything we needed, always with a smile. The Balinese breakfast is a must!

we spent there two nights. Waya and her team took care of everything very well. She also arranged our transfer from the airport. Spending the night in a bamboo villa over the river creates a certain jungle feeling. Unfortunately there are no restaurants or warungs within walking distance. But Waya ordered something for us to deliver.

Location is bout 20 minutes form the main street of Ubud. They have good quality scooters available to hire. The rooms are beautiful and spaced out enough that you don't feel like you are near anyone else. The staff are amazing, all very friendly and know each traveller by name. Breakfast is provided and there are options of traditional Balinese meals or Western meals which was fun to try something new. Pool area was glorious and there didn't seem to be any monkeys in the area.

Best for: Couples wanting a peaceful retreat to stay put and chill out. Pros: - friendly, service to perfection by Wayan and her team (Wayan speaks great English) - Wayan can organise dinner, massages, etc. - small but tasty breakfast - eco focus, drinking water provided to fill up your bottle - amazing bamboo design structure - gorgeous simple stylish Bali interiors and furniture - comfortable beds and bedding - balcony hammocks - small, personalised, only 5 villas well spaced for privacy - quiet, jungle-like setting, set back from road, no motorbike noise - tranquil, fall asleep to gently gurgling river below - lovely pool next to the river - surprisingly not many mosquitos (made sure I used the bed mozzie nets at night) - beautiful outside/ in bathroom, good pressure hot showers - good wifi - honesty fridge at reception with beers - peace from outside world - limited TVs, music etc....it was so peaceful you could really feel yourself unwinding. - minimal local noise: can hear mosque (same everywhere), bar- but not late, didnt find any intrusive. - easy airport pickup

Not best suited for: Families, unsteady/ accessibility challenged, those wanting nightlife or on doorstep of attractions/action. No Cons of Resort but be aware of: - Accessibility: hill with steps to all lodges, steps are deep pebbles, take care on them - Smoke: as elsewhere, local rubbish burning was bad, had to close windows and not use balcony some late afternoon/eve - Full length mirror would be useful - balcony light low for reading/ writing (but guess didnt attract insects) - slight damp smell in one bed, as you can get in tropics - Some would find Indonesian breakfast too small (but was delicious) - No real restaurants, 1 bar, etc around - eat in ubud, or Wayan can organise meal in, - ~20mins drive to Ubud Own transport, hire driver/car or uber (traffic close to ubud was bad peak times). I used Bali 'Uber' Gojek/ Grab - easy, cheap, flexible, set price. Road to Ubud was good surface,drivers ok I used motorcycle uber if not raining (I was solo, was cheaper,quicker, fun getting into local mode). I would've requested to get off and order another if I felt unsafe, meant could overtake traffic jams. But if not comfortable on bike, car is easy too. Cost: about $2AUD oneway bike depending destination (more for car) Tips: 1. Pay cash so dont have to enter credit card and can tip drivers (help cover increase fuel costs, cost of living), v surprised/ grateful for it - $1 for me - no brainer. 2. Always specify helmet on booking request - Translate it, write in Indonesian. Cancel/ Turn away drivers who turn up without (Ubud was good - better quality bikes, helmet, Denpasar not so - I turned away 2 in a row for turning up without helmet in Jimbaran) 3. Sign up to more than one app - If there isn't a driver where you are, try other app, I found availability variance in areas (had panic when couldn't find driver from water temple - and no taxis - but a kindly tour driver suggested the other app and that was no problem
