The property is old and the people and staff are unprofessional and lack communication skills.I was very disappointed with the service and their room service is below average.

staff not up to the standard of a 5 star hotel. needs a lot of training and upgrading.

The room was comfortable and a reasonable size but the lack of tea / coffee facilities in the room was disapointing

My mother and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Any issues the staff handled immediately.

There was construction across the street starting around 5am. We asked them to change our room which they did not. The carpets are dirty and the climste control does not work. I wo6ld rank it as a 3 star hotel.

This is my second stay at Hotel Balzac and I highly recommend it. The decor is charming and the staff are very helpful, attentive and friendly. Just 1 minute walk from Champs Elyzee (and 6 minutes walk to the Arc Du Triomphe and the tour bus stop) it is perfectly located away from the bustle of the Main Street. I. believe it is being refurbished in January 2023 for 8 months so book your stay now.

The staff was basic, the room phone didn’t work, the shower was odd.

Hotel Balzac is definitely not a 5-star hotel, the rooms are in very poor condition and neglected, the showers are uncomfortable and wet the entire bathroom, the beds are not comfortable at all, one of the front desk agents was super rude and not nice At all, I definitely do not recommend this hotel. I feel cheated for having paid what I paid for this hotel thinking that it had other conditions.

Overall the stay was very good. However, if there was one detractor it was the terrible Wi-Fi service. Even for recreational purposes it was subpar. In my mind this hotel would be five stars if they had high speed Internet throughout the entire property. Otherwise great location to explore Paris.

I had booked a mini suite and was shocked and thrilled upon arrival was told we had been upgraded to the “Presidential Suite”. It was fabulous !! Don’t know how this happened but it was an experience I’ll never forget. Beautiful and spacious accommodation.

Never again! Pictures don’t show what it really looks like. Staff is terrible. Will never book off Expedia again.

Hotel Balzac offers a great location just a few steps from Arc du Triomphe. Unfortunately the hotels service level is lower than expected. We booked two rooms but the staff missed that and thought me and my friend was a couple, even though we both showed them our passports. There was numerous confusions with luggage that was delivered to the wrong room, a very slow concierge service and inattentive staff. The rooms were quite small but filled with the most necessary. My room with a balcony was great. I doubt I was upgraded as stated by the front desk staff. While checking out, they forgot to charge all extras and kept us waiting when the taxi was arrived, to sort out their mistake. However, Balzac is a quite cosy boutique hotel with a huge potential. The pricing could be questioned based upon our experience.

The hotel is old. The bathroom had non working bidet and the bathtub had a clumsy half glass door with opens and had a bad bottom seal which made water spill all over the bathroom floor making it unsafe. The location is great, plenty of options to eat around there and walking distance from the Champs-Élysées. The hotel breakfast buffet was okay- limited options.

The hotel was good outside but disappointing inside. The bed was the most disappointed of all. The staff were ok and very helpful. They tried their best to communicate with you in English. I couldn't have a good sleep because of the bed. I got back home nursing body pains.

Very attentive staff, very clean, room decor really made one feel that he/she is in Paris. Beautiful public spaces. Within one block of Champs Elysee and three blocks of Place de l'Etoile (i.e. excellent location).

The hotel is luxury in options for restaurants, sightseeing and shopping, and would be a good option for holiday makers. If you stay longer in the hotel as part of your business travel, you may want to more functionality but am sure the staff can help according to your needs.

We did not stay. The hotel closed due to COVID - did not tell us and has not replied to emails requesting refund. We only found out 2 days before our stay that it was closed. Lots of hotels have struggled during this time and we know that, but to take all our money - not just a deposit - then not inform us the hotel was closed and / or offer a refund or even discuss the matter is deplorable and frankly dishonest.

The hotel is clean and large for most rooms you get in Paris. The hotel is literally a stone throw from all restaurants, cafes, shopping malls and theaters. The concierge is also friendly and helped us book many events. The hotel is 10/10 and I would recommend it to anyone.

Old furniture ....Smoking in rooms which is transmitted to other rooms .....Concierge is not helpful...Front desk “ Joseph “ was excellent and very helpful

I was surprised we did not have a complimentary water and coffee or tea making in room Also we did not have rooms on same floor. I also ordered a city view room which we did not get

The AC was not working; the room was so hot we could not sleep. I called the reception they sent me a staff that could not fix the AC. The bed was terribly hard to sleep on. Do not recommend the hotel at all!

We enjoyed our stay! Excellent service!
