Great property! 60’s Hollywood done to perfection. The restaurant food was amazing!

No complaints other than the cleanliness. Hair in the shower, glasses not clean and just covered with new plastic (disgustingly dirty glasses) and the phone handset was filthy. Manager made it right and everything fine afterwards.

I would stay here again. It’s a nice place with a friendly atmosphere and close to Hollywood bowl.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and many of my family and friends have been asking about The Garland too since seeing all our travel posts. We were able to drop our bags off early and even secured an early check in. All the staff were really lovely and helpful. The room we were given was on the bottom floor where the balcony was hidden behind some bushes to give us some privacy from the courtyard, but meant we could still hear all the live music and goings on from the comfort of our room. The room itself was great, clean, up to date and spacious. The pool and bars were great too, as was The Front Yard. Friendly, helpful service and a fantastic menu to choose from. I don’t eat meat or dairy which can be limiting when eating out, but was fortunate enough to be faced with a difficult decision in choosing what to eat because there was so much on offer! I opted for the octopus starter and then the squash and waffles as a main that was just brilliant! We also took advantage of the free shuttle to Universal Studios and City Walk, which was a great perk and main reason for the location of our stay. Nearby was a supermarket and Starbucks, although Ubers to other restaurants, bars and landmarks were quite pricey from here. (We were over $50 for a return Uber trip to Griffith Observatory for example). Just something to keep in mind! The little shop was also great, and we picked up so many souvenirs that were actually very reasonably priced

Had an amazing stay at the Garland! The hotel is comfy, clean in an excellent location and very nicely laid out! Had a resort-feel to it and the pool and jacuzzi were awesome! Highly recommend!

Check in was quick. Room was ready an hr before check in time, didn’t have to pay extra..Complimentary Trolly to and from Universal Studios was great. Beds were comfy. Clean room. I was very pleased with front desk when I called to ask if they could ask the trolley driver if he could hold the last pickup time from universal studios we had difficulty finding our way back to the front entrance of the park. Front desk says the driver will wait for us. They were so kind about it. The staff were so friendly I’d definitely stay here again 👍

Our key card kept disconnecting and made it a hassle to enter our room or parking lot

This was a solo trip to California I stayed here because I saw the pictures on line and read the other reviews and they do not do this place justice It is much better than the reviews led me to believe The venue, location, shuttle service etc. my only concern was the charge for onsite parking. This was foreign to me due to the fact that all other hotels are be ever stayed at had free on sight/premises parking. Maybe this is the norm in the west so I still have it 5 stars or 10/10

A perfect gem close to the Universal studios. Retro vibe but in a classy way and the hotel is completely remodelled. A great pool area with a bar, a very nice gym and guest laundry. Breakfast at the restaurant was great, and dinner was also good. A lot of traffic on the nearby streets and there might be a fire station close by judging by the frequency of fire trucks speeding by with sirens on, so maybe not the best place for those wanting perfect silence. A complimentary trolley to Universal Studios and back. All in all a super nice place and I would definitely stay here again!

Had a wonderful stay at The Garland & wanted to stay longer. Pool area is beautiful at night. More vegetarian options please. Thank you for the complimentary wine we got through Hotels.com. Loved the hotel

Beds very comfortable. Older hotel but clean. Coffee maker broken and made a mess. Parking fee $40 per day too much on top of room rate. Ran out of tp. Staff relatively friendly yet seemed uncaring. Would NOT stay again at the price

For a luxury hotel, we were not impressed. Our room was supposed to be ADA, however the bathroom was long and narrow which does not work at all for a wheelchair. The outside area in front of the room was very loud and echoey. Starting at 7am, laughing and yelling children and very loud adults started walking by, waking all of us up. This went on the rest of the morning and into the evening, constantly startling our dog. Then people complained that our dog barked so WE got called. Highly frustrating.

The Garland is a great hotel. Very close to Universal Studio. The staff are very gracious and hospitable.

This is a well renovated hotel near Universal Studios. It was perfect for my stay during the weekend. I would recommend this place because of the prices being very comparable to those around it, yet it has nicer amenities than those around it, such as a hot tub. There is parking on the premises and you do have to pay for it (expected in an area like this). Nearby lots of attractions.

The Garland was very worth the price we paid. It’s clean, the beds are super comfy, the TV is high def, the pool was relaxing, and the room had a nice view. Very friendly staff as well. Our room was right across from the elevator which worried me but the walls seem to be sound proof because we couldn’t hear anything outside of our room.

Great hotel quaint more like a minni resort we loved it. The bar and pool were great and the restaurant attached was nice and convenient. Loved the 70s vibe

Pretty good, plenty of perks to go through when booking a room here. Only thing was wished they had room service seemed like they had almost everything else but that. The walls are always very thin, heard someone dropped a bottle in what sounded like the shower next to me and woke us up. Other than that staff is friendly, everything was cleaned so can’t complain

Sometimes you get lucky picking a hotel baded off of reviews. Well with over thousand positive reviews luck had nothing to do with it. They all were absolutely correct in giving The Garland such positive ratings and reviews Our stay was such a great experience. Every staff member we came across had a smile and were very courteous and polite. The beds and pillows wete so darn comfortable. Room was very quiet couldnt hear any other guests. Despite the hotel being close to the freeway there was ver little noise from it. The vibe I guess you can say was very relaxing. Music piped in whether dining or at the pool. The landscape around the property made ir seem you weren't in a city. We ate and had drinks at the resteraunt near the pool was very reasonable and delicious. We were in town for a concert at the Greek Theater which was close enough that taking an Uber was pretty reasonable. Of course they were very close to Universal Studios which they had a shuttle for. So if its the Greek Theater or Universal Studios this is where we wll stay.

My sister, friend and I stayed at The Garland for my birthday. It was a great experience. The grounds were lovely, the food was yummy, and it was nice having a shuttle to Universal Studios.

Mixed experience - some staff on it and helpful others total idiots (e.g called at 11pm at night all woken up inc baby) expected to come to reception. No initiative. Many others friendly. Lots of kids at the hotel. WiFi terrible in parts. Nice touch of having movies at the pool in the eve. Some good and some/bad aspects. For the money wouldn’t start again.

I adore this place! Anytime I come to LA for work, I stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food and drinks are excellent, and the location is super convenient. Highly recommend!

We love are stay here

love love love the stay , i was check in an hour late , that's was my only inconvenience . other than that valet was amazing customer service as well . The gym was defenfilty put to use , laundry option was amazing as well . had to have a drink and the bar , and in my stay their were playing a movie in the pool area beetle juice while being able to get a drink or order tacos

Cute boutique hotel. We attended a wedding and the garden and venue are gorgeous. I would stay again.
