The hotel was very charming, and the service was great. The room was very clean and had nice amenities, including a refrigerator with beverages. The bed was very comfortable, but a little too warm for me. Breakfast was included but, unfortunately, we didn’t have time to partake. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very convenient to the train station (across the street) with excellent breakfast. Room is clean but very small. Bathroom has a rickety shower door.

Great location, close to trains and local buses to mueseums and attractions.Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfest. Can reserve time for hot/cold baths and suana. Clean, comfortable, modern room with free minibar and coffee maker. Very comfortable stay.Pass for reduced museum prices and transportation too!

The location of this hotel cannot be better! Across from the train station and easy access to trams and buses. Very friendly staff, small but comfortable rooms, good breakfast choices. I would definitely stay here again if in Basel.

The initial room allocated was unsuitable as it had a sloping wall because of the roof line but the second room we were allocated was good and there was no danger of hitting my head on a sloping wall. The hotel is very close to the Basel railway station and the area around the station is safe. A pleasing feature of the stay is you get given a free Basil card which gives you free transportation on trams and busses in Basel as well as half price admission to museums

WOW! Did not expect it but the reviews were accurate, this is a great hotel at a great price! We arrived in Basel a few days before our River Cruise. Had regular double room. The frig was stocked w/lemonade, apple juice beer and water, ALL COMPLIMENTARY! It was 92 degrees and the room was so nice and cool! Bed VERY comfy, and you get a scan code at checkin for half off on all museums and free trams (buses) which is super convenient considering the main station is steps from the hotel! Great city, old town is great, River has many nice restaurants. When we checked out and sat for a bit to kill time, we received cappuccinos and bottled water. Btw- PREPAY for BREAKFAST! It is SO worth it! Selection and service so good…(fresh squeezed juice, cheeses, eggs,….

The building is very nice, the room was spacious with two chairs and a desk. The TV has a lot of channels in English French Italian and German. The bed and linens were very nice and everything was very clean.
The location is very convenient because it’s 50 yards across the street from the train station. There are trams going to all parts of the city and you can get to the historical district in five minutes. There’s also a bus to the airport that comes every eight minutes. All these transport options are free with a card provided by the hotel. In comparison, a taxi costs 50 CHF every 15 minutes.
The only caveat is that the train station is not the nicest area in town.

We booked this hotel primarily due its proximity to the Railway station and Trams, as well as its positive reviews, which were not wrong. Excellent breakfast was included, the staff friendly and helpful, and lots of little extras(like bathrobes and slippers, even a complementary mini-bar) were in the room. Excellent value for money

The hotel is nice. Convenient to the bus from the airport, and convenient to the train station to other cities such as Lucern. Breakfast was great. Area right around the hotel is blah, but again super convenient to the station.

GAIA hotel was just perfection. Everything about it was great and the service was above and beyond. Patrick was so kind and the whole staff was incredible. We stayed 7 nights (July 2024) and wanted more! What a memorable hotel

Gaia was amazing from the location across from train station and trolleys. The staff was super friendly and helpful with getting around town.
Breakfast had a splendid variety and was very good and included!! Room was clean and comfortable. Perfect stay over before our River Cruise.

By far one of the best hotels I've stayed. It's a classical modern hotel with decors throughout. Our suite is very tastefully decorated with beautiful furnitures and carpet. It is also very conveniently located, just across from the train station where nearly all trams make stop. Good breakfast.

Good hotel, and great location next to train station. We did not travel by train but buses and trams were within sight of hotel door. Hotel is within walkable distance to good things to see - e.g old town and zoo.

Beautiful hotel with nice amenities such as the breakfast and free mini bar. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Location is very convenient for the train station but also an easy walk to attractions. I highly recomment.

The hotel's location next to the railway station is most convenient. I experienced two different rooms, and they were exquisite. The breakfast buffet is top-notch and worth at least 60 Swiss francs. I highly recommend this hotel.

A nice hotel, very convenient to Basel SBB train station(literally right across the street) Good Breakfasts. Helpful if at time confused staff ( For some reason we were put in one of their rooms without air conditioning. Front desk woman said she would get it fixed. Next day gentleman at front desk noted that our room was one of t he ones without air conditioning, Guess thats eco-friendly, but booking site said air-c0onditioned) But overall a good hotel with friendly staff and nice warm rooms.
