The hotel was ok but was under construction. I booked for two nights but left on the second day because a tropical storm was hitting the area. They would not comp me for the night. The shower I couldn't make work because I wasn't pulling hard enough on some weird extra knob. I guess I was afraid of pulling it out of the wall. The maintenance man came in and almost had to use pliers to make it work. My biggest #1 complaint? For as expensive as the hotel was, there was no free coffee. I could have stayed in 100 places around there that was less expensive and gotten free coffee and breakfast. So next time i'm in the RGV, I will definitely stay somewhere else.

The service and room were good. The bed was great and slept like a baby. The property is over 20 years old and it's starting to show. Continental breakfast a bare minimum for the price we paid. The Staybridge next door is newer and may try that next time.

There was no glass for drinking water, there was no hot water in the Bathroom sink.
Patching around a water pipe in the bathroom was messy and apeared to be done by a child.

The property was nice and so were the rooms. There is a nice pool and courtyard area and lots of parking. There is a golf course and a bird sanctuary across the street and and a shopping center adjacent. The staff was very accommodating to my travel plan changes.

Unfortunately the room had a smell of cigarettes and when I mentioned it to the reception attendant she offered to give us a new room. The new room was very clean and it did not have any kind of smells. Very thankful for the staff members as well. They were courteous and very helpful.

The staff is very courteous. However as a Marriott member, we would have expected some special consideration on the room requested.The very disappointing reasons for this particular stay is the fact that the room wasn't what i requested, the TV wasn't working, the sink was clogged very bad and there was no offer to clean or make up the room.

Garbage cans in rooms should be emptied more often

The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, light bulbs were burned out in 2 lamps, the display on the thermostat was not working and the shampoo and conditioner had not been replaced. There was 2 drops in each. The coffee station only had 1 cup. The bed sunk to the middle and the king room was tiny. 2 days prior I had stayed in a Courtyard by Marriott in Sugarland and it was pristine. The remote control was in a sanitized bag, but this was not the case in McAllen. Made me question if the room had been properly cleaned and sanitized. I would never stay there again.

Literally the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Every aspect of the hotel was terrible, from the dirty showers, a dirty towel, an outdated mattress and stained sheets. The water had a foul smell and I got rash on my arm. Will never come to this hotel again. I will advise all of friends to never stay here as well.
