A nice mid range hotel. Nothing super flash but more than comfortable. Good location, parking on site and super friendly staff, a big shout out to Theodore who went out of his way to look after our group. Great service.

The only thing to remember is this hotel does not have free parking included however there is a row of council parking out the front that we used and it is freefrom 6pm to 9am. Good customer services. The room was large, warm and the beds were very comfy. Even though its in the CBD there was no noise so great nights sleep. I would stay here again. I booked a twin room for 2 people it met our needs.

The rooms are very large and spacious, with extremely comfortable bed. The location is wonderful. My only dislike is that housekeeping can be improved. They should be checking to make sure that all staples, like toilet paper and Kleenex have been restocked. I should have not had to contact reception to get these items restocked. Otherwise, fabulous room, location, and front end staff!!

My stay was excellent but I did notice that a guy going into a room next to mine who was Asian and then when I came past again another guy (European) was going into the same room.
He came straight out and came down the lift with me saying my room already has someone in it.

Cleaning was lacking,lots of dust in areas.Marks and stains on the carpet.Bed was like sleeping on concrete.

The fuse blew in our room at 8am - I rang reception and no one turned up until 11.30am.
My wide needed to iron clothes for the university graduation which started at 10.30. She was also unable to use her hair straighteners, or boil the jug to make tea.
It completely ruined what was an important day and was very poor service.
We received no apology or compensation from the hotel for the inconvenience - we will not stay here again and would not recommend to others.

We stayed at Scenic Southern Cross as part of a larger trip of New Zealand. The hotel was convenient to the central city and not far from the Octagon. The room was very comfortable and quiet although the view from room was a parking lot. We found parking on the street right across from the hotel for our overnight stay. The staff was great. We visited the Casino which was a good sized venue but did not gamble. We closed out our night on the town with a nightcap at the hotel bar watching rugby with some other hotel guests. Very good stay in Dunedin.
