It was a great visit! We were close to town and friends and parking was key!! Lovely sitting area out back!

Excellent location near the Newport harbor with parking, and walking distance to the visitor center, shops and restaurants. Delicious home made breakfast daily by the host family, with afternoon refreshment. Very clean bathroom and bedding. Quiet at night. Air conditioned! I would definitely stay here again next time I visit newport!

The Samuel Durfee House B&B is the perfect spot to explore Newport. The house is clean, cozy, and comfortable. Heather was extremely communicative and welcoming as soon as we booked our room. The home is historic and charming and located within walking distance to everything to see in Newport. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and they were so kind to offer several ways to request breakfast given COVID. There wasn't a detail missed. I mentioned it was my husband's birthday, and there was a birthday sign and cupcakes for us in our room upon arrival. We also appreciated the water and warm note wishing us a lovely day on our door after returning from a long day of exploring/walking around.I'd highly recommend staying here if you're coming to Newport :)

Michael and Heather were very welcoming and knowledeable. Great location, just a block away from the center. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely go back!

This place offers everything one would want in a B & B -- a beautifully restored house dating to 1803, a good-sized, comfortable room, delicious breakfasts, friendly owners who try to help in every way they can, and a great location within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. I highly recommend it.

The owners were exceptionally helpful. We arrived around 5:00pm in a semi-frantic: condition---we had a 5:30 wedding to attend nearby. Owner Michael drove us to the wedding venue in his car and lent me his cufflinks for my tux. And the breakfast the next morning was superb.

Samuel Durfee was a great place to stay for a long weekend! Heather and her husband made us feel at home and provided wonderful recommendations to make our first time in Newport a memorable one. This B and B is in a perfect location for walking to downtown that provides off street parking as well. I would highly recommend staying here!

We Could not have been happier. Michael and his wife were just wonderful, friendly and helpful. We arrived to a warm welcome, a tour and then a nice sit down with a map they gave us and information and advice about all the places to go, history of the area, restaurants etc. their breakfasts were wonderful and their home baked desserts were fantastic. The rooms are cozy and vintage with modern facilities added, a perfect blend of nostalgia and utility. It's just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants too! We'll definitely go there again

Their breakfast and afternoon tea are both so inviting and wonderful - GREAT baked goods! We highly recommend this place for your stay in Newport - a quiet, homey retreat for sure. The owners also know all the best places and keep up to date on new things to do throughout the year. We'll definitely stay here again.

Charming B & B in the heart of Newport. Loved our room (Jackie O), not large, but nice and cozy. Keepers Heather and Michael are both very friendly, always ready to help with everything. Breakfasts are absolutely outstanding, delicious food, dishes and table clothes always matching, Plus freshly baked pastries every afternoon with tea or coffee, fruits and pretzels. All together makes your visit to beautiful historical Newport absolutely unforgettable.

Great Newport location. Excellent breakfasts. Plenty of parking. No complaints at all other than that our bathroom could have been a little bigger. Of course it was still much better than the original owner's.

The innkeepers have turned a 200-year-old house into a delightful, five-room B and B. The location was within walking distance of the main Newport attractions. The rooms were filled with period furniture and were charming. The breakfasts were excellent. The hosts were cordial and informative about local restaurants and sights. The inn was well worth the price. I recommend it for a romantic getaway or a small reunion with friends or family.
