Great staff and hotel in great location

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It was spotless, centrally located, and close to everything. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The spa and pool were absolutely beautiful, providing the perfect place to relax. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona

Right off Las Ramblas, so if you want to be in middle of it all, this is the place. Beautiful hotel. Loved their breakfast. Staff very helpful; management particularly accommodating regarding our reservation needs.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and everything about our stay here hit every expectation. From the moment you walk in it is an oasis of calm and luxury. The staff are so friendly and willing to help. We booked the room with a terrace and it is a lovely space, particularly after a busy day in Barcelona. The rooftop bar and pool is a must with some wonderful views. Particular thanks to Sergi who gave us a cocktail masterclass. On arrival we had a lovely surprise as cava and chocolates were delivered to our room. Breakfasts are down as continental but they are so much more than that. The central location off La Rambla puts so much in walking distance. I really can’t recommend this hotel enough.

The hotel has NOISE issues, the room 441 would shake and rumble whenever the metro would come by which is every few minutes ALL DAY AND NIGHT !!!

A bit disappointed. I arrived along with my 8-year-old daughter. I already done the pre-check-in. But that gave us no benefits. Still had to do the whole procedure. The room was not ready. I asked them to park my car, but no they could not, I had to drive there myself. Then I asked if the restaurant on the terrace was open and served food. Yes, she said and we left our bags with the reception. At the rooftop, they let us know that they don't serve food until one hour later. Nothing to eat at all. Super hungry daughter after traveling many hours. Okay, they told us they would call when the room was ready, but at 4 pm no one still called so I went down to the reception. The room was ready but no one had taken the bags to the room, so I took them myself. The room had a window towards a dark patio and there was no daylight in the room. This was not in the description of the room I booked. And the rest of the stay was basically like this. Even my daughter was clear that this hotel was a disappointment.

Hotel 1898 is one of the hidden gems in Barca I'm frankly reluctant to advertise, as we love staying here and we love that the crowds haven't quite found it yet. Nice amenities, well appointed, lovely staff, and a great rooftop w/pool that we found ourselves visiting before sunset every night. Unlike some other famous rooftop venues in town, no queue on the street for non-hotel guests. The vibe is relaxed luxury and very few younger children, thankfully. Mostly Americans and Brits staying here but all seemed to be enjoying the hotel, many also returning visitors like us. It's just of La Rambla, and near Passeig de Gracia so shopping is close at hand, but so are the crowds at times. Our room was very quiet, little to no street noises from below. Highly recommended.

Great location on Las Ramblas, convenient for Metro access, restaurants, shopping, taxi stand. Staff is friendly and helpful. Just plan on waking up by 8 am, because that’s when the church next door starts the bell tolls every morning. But it wasn’t a problem for us since we had things to do each day there. I would definitely stay here again!

The location is excellent the rooftop pool, bar and food area is fantastic, the staff couldn’t do enough for you…..we will be back for longer next time! 😍

The hotel offers a lot of great amenities including a fantastic rooftop bar & pool area & the food at the rooftop restaurant was excellent. There is a spa & indoor swimming pool downstairs which I didn’t get to utilize other than I was able to shower at the spa after checkout after a long day of walking & sweating in Barcelona prior to my international flight. The room was standard, nothing fancy but clean & perfectly adequate. Word of warning for light sleepers, the metro runs under part of the hotel so every 20mins or so from about 5am through at least midnight the building vibrates rather loudly, all be it brief. A decent location to walk to sites with the exception of La Sagrada Familia & Park Güell which are a little far. The front desk was friendly & helpful, the rooftop staff were awesome! A very good option while staying in Barcelona.

Me and my partner had an absolute amazing time staying at this hotel and we are definitely going to book it next time we are in the city.

Have stayed here twice now it’s one of the best hotels quite a bit more expensive than most but such a great location staff are so helpful rooms are lovely small spa and a wonderful roof top terrace with small pool bar and you can order some food

Lovely staff at check in accommodated my last minute requests. Also great spa! Mauricio was excellent therapist for deep tissue massage.

From the front desk to the lovely young lady who greeted us at breakfast then served our afternoon drinks poolside everything was amazing. The grotto gorgeous and unexpected. The aroma of the hotel is gorgeous. Nothing was left to chance. Look no farther then staying here ❤️

Hotel 1898 was my favourite hotel on a 3 week multi-destination trip! Beautiful hotel, great room and amenities, plus we loved the hydrotherapy and the upstairs pool/bar/dining. I wish we had stayed longer!

Lovely hotel with great rooftop bar and pool. Rooms larger than you'd expect with good AC and very comfortable bed. Convenient location to Boqueria Market & Gothic Quarter. Would definitely stay again.

Everything met or exceeded our expectations.....from early check in to arranging a taxi upon our departure. Can not say enough about the friendliness of the staff and great level of service provided. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of options,. Room and common areas were comfortable. I could not have asked for a better experience for my 1st vist to Barcelona!

A sanctuary in the middle of the beautiful, vibrant city.

Great hotel. The pool was a big hit. It was great to escape the heat of the day and cool off. The food and bar service were also excellent.

Chose this hotel through a recommendation from a friend who had stayed there a number of years ago. Overall, it was perfect. The location was great, right along La Rambla (the Main Street) and was within walking distance to most places that I wanted to visit. The rooftop bar/restaurant was also amazing with great views of the city. There is quite a bit of road construction in the area so driving around would be difficult, but walking was perfect.

Only negative was the steam room shower wasn’t working in the sauna area
