Great location, lovely breakfast - staff were amazing, Louisa - I think? Check-in was awful - a large important group were leaving and they were allowed to queue jump to check out. Obviously the reception staff were more interested in them than the normal traveller! Several rooms weren’t ready, even though it was after 4pm. Our sink was blocked and took over 1 hour and 3 conversions with reception to be moved to the room next door! Replied to the hotel email asking for check in feedback and was never contacted by them to discuss this. Not really the service I would expect from a Marriott hotel….

This is a great hotel to stay. The staff is amazing, the conditions impecable and the location is great. The only suggestion I have: please provide directions to your parking lot. GPS are not reliable and we ended up in the city center which is not recommended.

Stayed here for the second time. The hotel is wonderful and in the perfect location to see Ghent. Staff are excellent and friendly.

i loved the quietness at night but still in a central location during the day. The one negative was that the other couple we were travelling with had a Tv in their room that remained unusable throughout their stay despite reporting to reception on day one, apparently maintenance don't work weekends !!! It didn't matter much to our friends and didn't spoil anything. I just think maybe maintenance should be 7 days a week.

Right in center of old town Ghent on a lovely canal. Easy access to Gravensteen, palace of the counts, etc. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Quite touristy. Also make sure you use the correct address to navigate if you have a car—using the address tht is posted on Expedia takes you through the non-vehicle area.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff snd probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Only down side was parking, with limited space in a terrifyingly small underground garage, but staff helped us source another option. Overall a great stay.

From cleaning staff to front desk, everyone we interacted with were wonderful.

We had a fantastic stay in the Ghent Marriott - brilliant staff right from the lady who checked us in early (we thought we would just drop our luggage and come back later). She anticipated our needs - we had been up so early for a 7am flight and early access to our rooms was just what we needed. She checked us into adjoining rooms - just perfect for our family. Unfortunately, I didnt get her name. Alexis was great helping me book restaurants that could deal with my daughter's allergies. The real star of the show, though, was Louisa in the breakfast area. She took such great care of my daughter's allergy requirements and made sure she had a great breakfast every morning. Ghent is a great city to visit and your visit will be enhanced by a stay at the Ghent Marriott - great staff, riverside location, bright airy lobby, great breakfast and lovely light lunchtime bites!!

Best LOCATION in the city for tourists and access to food and activities. Safe and quiet at night. Wish there was nespresso in room - only instant 😢

Generally a great place but we were unlucky to get a room where the windows could not be opened which required us to either crank the AC to full power and freeze or nearly suffocate from CO2 :) We were told renovation are on the way to address this but nevertheless be sure to ask when booking a room. Otherwise we had a great stay in a very nice location

Everything was wonderful. Great staff from reception, bar and restaurant. Great breakfast and nice dining. Wonderful area in the center of it all. I even got cleaning service every day which doesn’t happen most places anymore. My only complaint is the beds seem really hard. I prefer a firmer bed, but their beds are extremely firm. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience

Incredibly convenient hotel. You literally step out of your hotel onto the water front. You can see St Michaels Bridge from the doorway. We absolutely loved Gent and staying at this Marriott Hotel was the icing on the cake. Nothing to dislike.

This was our favourite hotel during our three week stay in Europe. Friendly staff, clean room, centrally located. Being on the canal it could sometimes be loud from street noise but the hotel was fairly sound proof.
