Has been my "go to" hotel in Riga for many years. But some small details are irritating me; showers always have too cold or too hot water...plus sudden changes, shower always turns away from you either into a wall or outside the shower, no more omelette for breakfast, no more fried eggs either and to top it off no more large beers (0.5 l) in the bar. Just baby beer. I will try some other hotel going forward.

The hotel was clean, the room although considered to be the standard room… it was huge. Loads of storage and there was no noise coming from nearby rooms. The staff at reception and bar, very polite, friendly and helpful.

The stay was excellent. The hotel is very well organized. Centrally located. Quiet. Sound insulation is great. But the room was lacking a bedside table on one side of the bed. That was bizarre. Bathroom door not properly closing. I love my husband, but I also love privacy in the bathroom. Breakfast is excellent once you figure out small tricks for extra menu. Takeaway breakfast for early morning travelers is a luxury these days. However, one thing to keep in mind is not to put too many liquids into breakfast bag, because of the liquid restrictions at the airport. Sandwiches were very yummy at 6am onboard the plane. Gym was a pleasant surprise that ought to be discovered earlier. Sauna is very good. Showers need a proper door. Rest area in the gym/sauna could be improved.

The Front Desk staff were simply amazing. When they heard my luggage was lost/delayed, they immediately took me under their wing to help me out as if I was their family member. Front Desk Manager, Laura, personally called the local FinnAir rep at least 20 times since no one was answering. Laura also lent me a Raddisson staff winter coat which was clean, cozy and a Godsend. Mariana, who checked me on that dark, rainy night was kindness through and through. She made me feel so welcomed. The other front desk female employee (long straight dark hair) …sorry about lack of name… was gracious in giving me info of what was nearby. Finally, another front desk female employee who likes second-hand shops just as much as I do gave me great info on nearby, walkable charity shops so I could purchase an extra sweater or two until my suitcase showed up (a few days later).
