We chose this hotel to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, what a disappointment it was, we arrived on Friday afternoon to find that there was a wedding reception taking place. The group were unruly with children running riot. The following morning at breakfast was something of a horror show, the children were out of control with no parental responsibility. Unfortunately the hotel staff were unable to control the situation. Such a shame as we were looking forward to a relaxing breakfast but couldn’t wait to leave the room. Fortunately the next morning the wedding party had left and normality was resumed.
The hotel itself is looking a little tired and needs updating.
Our keycard never worked and had to be reprogrammed multiple times, very annoying.

My stay was short but wonderful. The room was clean and spacious and the hotel facilities were good. I am planning to come back for a longer stay to have a quiet break

Reasonable (superior) room, if a little dated. Good space for clothing etc. and the bed was pretty big too. Just a shame about the staff. Particularly I felt for Ivan in the bar who was generally quite diligent but was just one person whom we felt wasn't best treated by colleagues. The staff need to get together as a proper team.

We booked this hotel and spa for a 2 night break. Staff were welcoming and informative. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a Coffee Machine and kettle for tea.
The leisure facilities were clean and tidy with a few loungers and chairs around the pool. There were 2 large spa pools, a swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Robes, towels and slippers were provided at reception. Lockers required you to enter your own 4 digit code so no need to “scrabble around” for a £1.00 coin.
Breakfast was very busy on the Sunday morning and perhaps they would have benefitted from an extra member of staff to either seat people or clear tables as the 2 that were on duty were rushed off their feet! Monday morning on the other hand was quiet and steady. Dinner in the restaurant on Sunday night was delicious. On all occasions the staff were welcoming and cheerful.
We hope to return soon.

Very disappointing. Paid £271 for executive room on a Saturday night. Room was dated, carpets smelly, TV tiny and from around 2001, no fridge, definitely NOT executive. Hotel is very tired and run down. Carpets are all old and smelly. Looks like hotel hasn’t been touched for 25+ years. The room was worth £120 no more. Will never stay there again. Staff are very good. Lovely guy called David is very attentive and new manager seems genuinely concerned at the condition but the owners need to pull their fingers out and spend some money. It’s terrible! The setting is lovely. The spa and pool are ‘ok’ but tired. Rooms simply terrible!
Food was also terrible. Barely edible and over priced.

Overall we had a great stay. The room was good, and the spa facilities were lovely. We both had amazing massages.
The only down side really was the restaurant as when we arrived for dinner, there was no steak or chicken left. It made the menu quite restrictive. What we ended up ordering was nice though.
We also had a cocktail in the bar, my porn star martini was awful, basically vodka with j2o and they charge extra for the Prosecco shot which is a basic part of the cocktail!

Lovely area, hotel looks lovely, but our bathroom flooded when using the shower. Breakfast was limited as the coffee and milk ran out and wasn’t replaced due a while. The eggs and beans ran out. The restaurant had tv on during our meal.

Arrived late (8:45pm) to find the hotel had ignored my booking which clearly stated twin beds . We’d had a long journey only to find the restaurant was full and we couldn’t even order food in the bar ! They should contact guests re the need to book. Very disappointing.
The hotel is bleak and needs updating . Quite depressing. Premier Inns are better . Thank fully the bed was comfortable and the gardens beautifully done . I wouldn’t stay again .

This hotel is definetley NOT a 4-star. I would say it is 3-star at the most. Rooms are very dated. Felt like I was stepping back in time to the 80's... worn out tired looking carpets. Room lacking the amenities expected from any modern or 4-start hotel. Poor cleanliness.
Spa facilities, okay. Again, lacked cleanliness. Swimming pool was fairly dirty.
Bar service at the hotel literally non-existent. Don't expect to be served quickly or with a smile. You are better off visiting some of the quaint smart gastro-pubs nearby.
The only positive I can say about this hotel is the restaurant. Food was great courtesy of a very good chef.

We had no trouble in locating the Hotel. We found all the staff helpful, professional, polite and friendly. We were very pleased to be offered an upgrade on our room which we found very comfortable and clean throughout our stay.
The food was very good from the breakfast to the evening dinner.
The Hotel and grounds were very well maintained.
Overall our stay was wonderful and will look forward to returning.

This place is a hidden gem. The gym overlooks the golf course, the pool and spa facilities were wonderful.
We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was well presented and delicious. It was surprising that the restaurant wasn't busy as we thought the service and food was great and it definitely met our standards regarding quality, presentation and tasty.

I contacted he hotel prior to arriving and within the cancellation period to say that the room price had dropped significantly. They agreed to sort this for me on arrival; which they then refused to do when we arrived.
Despite booking a superior room, it was dated. Furniture scrapped, a dirty bathroom door handle, lights not working. The standard lamp bulb held in place with masking tape!
The meal was lovely but initially the staff forgot about us and we had to wait over 20 minutes to be served on a relatively quiet evening, and only after I asked that they take our order. To be fair, thereafter the dining room staff were very attentive and helpful feted free drinks by way of an apology.
Breakfast was, at best mediocre.
I had been very much looking forward to staying at the hotel, having had a significantly better experience previously. However, I won’t return.

Booked for a night away with my partner. We chose to upgrade the room but the room we were given was old, tired and outdated, without a fridge or basic amenities. We chose this hotel due to the spa, but unfortunately this experience was not at all relaxing. The pool was full of children, jumping in, shouting and splashing, and the rest of the spa was generally run down, with broken showers etc. Avoid the hotel restaurant. The food was average, with a basic menu. Service was extremely poor. Our waiter took each course to the wrong table, was more concerned with asking for cigarette breaks than serving us, and at one point he had an argument with another member of staff, who definitely appeared far more competent than him. Faulty Towers came to mind. Breakfast was again poor, with items missing. Both restaurants were outdated. The reception area was pleasant and most staff were friendly, but this is certainly not a 4* hotel.

This hotel is a 3* at best. Rooms are outdated, with no safe or fridge.
The heating barely worked, and given it was subzero temperatures outside, our room was freezing. There is also no additional duvet/blankets which is standard for most hotels.
The spa was average and the pool was busy with swimming lessons.
Upon checking out, someone had charged their dinner to our room. This was rectified by the receptionist who was friendly, however, it summed up our stay - average.
