We had been to Makarska before and on our last visit we decided to have a drink outside Hotel Maritimo and were impressed in how they made us feel we decided to book a few nights here when we returned.

The service is 100% flawless, especially in the reception with sincere kindness. The room is very nice, clean and modern. The only downside is that we actually looked for a hotel with sun beds because we know how expensive they are and when we got to the hotel we realized that there was a fee of 60 kuna/bed and you also had to reserve sun beds to get them. The surroundings are great with lots of restaurants with good pricing.

Excellent location, beautiful sea view, quiet small family hotel. I will come back and recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff, hotel located just by the beach. Really heavy portions for breakfast and dinner(half board three courses) you won't get away hungry. Some noise from the kitchen tho we had a room just above. Crowded beaches, sun beds and umbrellas can be rented on the beach just outside the hotel.

Exceptionally friendly staff and waiters at the restaurant. Access to beach is right across the street.

We did not plan well and needed to take extra transportation to get to and from Makarska. Svetlana at the front desk was exceptional at helping us get our travel arrangements made. She went above and beyond and was super helpful.

The main desk staff were excellent, as were the cleaners, the mail waiters / bar staff much less so, consequently chose to use other local restaurants. No real issues with this small family run hotel but by European standards would have expected a lot more for the price (at least free car parking and or deck chair). Found the local area overcrowded and over priced. For value for money there are much better European / international destinations.

Lovely hotel with the beach right in front of it,staff are wonderful and the food is excellent.Big downside for us was they could only accommodate us for 2 nights,thats how good this hotel is. We would highly reccomend the hotel maritimo.

Extremely clean, very helpful staff. Unfortunately I thought this hotel was at the end of promenade not in the middle. My mistake, commercial - I prefer quieter lives location. However nice hotel. We had a car - parking avaiable if you give notice. We were able to explore a wonderful country, that we would visit again.

Close to beach & all amenities, excellent breakfast & other meals, clean & nicely presented, it was all we needed. On top of this the staff were very helpful & considerate, ensuring that we had a pleasant stay. Great base for the week.

Perfect accommodation for our needs. We had a room on the first floor which looked on to the beach and small harbour. Although over restaurant, wasn't noisy. The girls on reception were extremely helpful and friendly and by the end of the week were using our first names. The room/ bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was basic, perhaps with it being a small hotel but the evening meal we had there very good. Short walk to restaurants and bars and then a bit further to centre and main harbour. We had a fantastic holiday there, the receptionists full marks.

This was probably the cheapest hotel among the 8 we stopped at, so it was easily among the best values. Every basic was provided and functional, the staff were exceptional, the location was right on the beach, and the room was spotless. Tall trees prevented the view from being great and the parking situation was tight by North American standards, but these were my only very minor quibbles. There was much to see/do/eat nearby, and the hotel breakfast was fairly good. We plan to return someday.

We found the hotel very easily and were welcomed by a very helpful receptionist. She arranged for a reserved space in the hotel carpark (at a small fee) and confirmed when our room would be available. We were upgraded, free of charge, to a sea facing room. She also give us a map and an overview of the town indicating where we could walk and the hotel facilities. Very clean and well presented room with room safe and chairs for the balcony. The hotel proved towels and beach mat for a nominal fee and as the beach was across only a narrow pedestrian walkway it was very easy to access. . Only concern was the quality of the food. There was a choice of 4 menus but the only difference was the main course. All of the menus had vegetable soup and pancake with chocolate sauce.

We had an amazing time. The hotel was perfect and the staff second to none, they could not be anymore helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The walk into the harbour is well worth a visit, especially at night. Although you didn't have to go far for a superb meal, in the fact we found the meals in the hotel far nicer than those we had in other restaurants.

The Hotel Maritimo comes with recommendation after recommendation, which we can only reinforce. Excellent in every way

We spent a wonderful relaxing weekend at the lovely "Maritimo" Hotel in Makarska, Croatia, in mid of October–the hotel is perfectly located, right on the beach and away from the road- the location on the beach is just divine and made for a relaxing stay (swimming & sunbathing) – additionally, we've rarely seen a hotel where the staff were more pleasant, helpful and keen to do everything to make you enjoy your stay – apart from a perfect location, the standard of the hotel is very high (cleanliness,stylishness,maintenance, etc.) – the cozy hotel restaurant offers surprisingly delicious food at fair prices – outdoor dining facing the sea and the candlelight–filled atmosphere was superb and so romantic – we enjoyed everything this hotel offers – will be back for more!!!
