Stay was pleasant. Chose the hotel for the price and also because I was staying here for an upcoming group tour.
Main thing that let the hotel down was trying to organise pick up from the airport. Emailed at least 3 times with no response (via hotels.com and also through their email).

A nice hotel, always wanted to stay here every time I come to Kathmandu and got opportunity this time and didn’t disappoint me. Staff are friendly it’s at the heart of Thamel. Hopefully I will book again. Thank you. Mohan Bhandari, Scotland, UK.

Room was clean, heater not working, possibly given the loudest room in the building, breakfast buffet was stale

Some rooms a bit run down. Staff friendly. Western food offered is not nice.

The location is a bit "too good" meaning that you're so center to the action that the bar across the alley's loud live music will keep you up until much later than you desire. Construction noise will wake you up much earlier than you plan. I stayed at a different hotel, just 5 mins walk around the corner and got much better sleep as it wasn't so central to the noisy rooftop bars that will keep you awake at night.

Happy with the staff service at the front reception and the assistance of the bell boy on multiple occassions.

The staff was very helpful . The airlines lost my luggage and the staff was very helpful contacting the local office for me several times a day. When I need to go shopping for replacement items they made several helpful suggestions. The staff in the attached restaurant were great too

Great location and nice modern rooms (if you go for the super deluxe ones). Very helpful reception staff who were happy to store our bags during a two week trek.

Some of the electrical outlets in the room did not work and the hot water was hit or miss. There is a same day laundry service listed on their laundry cards, but it seems that they are not able to provide laundry back on the same day. However, the property was quite lovely; the rooms were quaint, but pleasant, and the staff was very friendly.

We ended up staying at Hotel Marshyangdi for a few more days than intended (due to our trek to base camp being delayed). I have to stay the rooms all had pros and cons, for instance, one the air conditioning did not work very well/strong, one the shower would never get hot, one you would hear construction very early in the morning (half the building has construction going on right now) to be aware of. The front desk ladies were super friendly and helpful (charging my phone when we were waiting in lobby) and helping us with safety deposit box and ordering us a cab for the airport. Wifi was spotty at best (especially in the rooms).
Best part of the hotel was the location, right in the heart of the walking shopping district.
Food for dinner was great (tika masala in particular when I arrived I got room service as I was wiped, but pricey in comparison to surrounding areas). Buffet diversity definitely depended on the day, 1 out of 3 days was barely inedible. But, the other 2 were mediocre. Unlikely we would stay at the same hotel again. But, we would rate it a 3 to 3/5 rating.

We stayed in one of the suites, and it was great. Can’t vouch for the regular rooms. But service was terrific - everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I was given a standard room which was very small, had no clothes closet and drawers for putting away my clothes, and had a very basic bathroom. The food was mediocre as usual and the staff were very nice and helpful. This is a pretty good tourist hotel for short stays and not appropriate for business people on longer stays.

I wanted a comfy but not indulgent hotel for just one person for two nights in Thamel on a working trip and at a reasonable price. HM has a quite Indian feel in decor, guests etc but as a non-Indian I felt quite comfortable. The outdoor cafe has a nice feel, but the breakfast menu is limited .

The hotel is a bit of a disappointment considering the price in this area. Its dated and tired with service to fit. Despite advertising Spa services there is definitely no spa at the hotel - only a completely separate spa around the corner that they can recommend to you. The wifi is practically non-existent throughout much of the hotel and painfully slow with patchy connectivity where you can even connect at all.Breakfast is alright, not a great variety and the food is pretty stodgy. Altogether, not the best experience but could be worse.

The hotel is ok. Comparatively quite good in relation to other accommodation in the area. Given where you are, its alright but probably not worth the price. The staff are pleasant enough and can be of assistance without being all that attentive or useful really. Be aware that the wifi is terrible - very slow and cuts out a lot forcing you to keep logging back in, though after a while you realize youre better off giving up and using the free wifi at one of the many restaurants nearby which have an infinitely quicker and more reliable connection.

We have been in Nepal for a week and this is the second hotel we stayed in Kathmandu. Wanting a different location we chose Marshyangdi in Thamel because of the local culture, food and nearby shopping. First impression when we arrived the facade gave the hotel a modern and upgraded look. But once inside it was a different story altogether. It was like stepping back in time to the 60s. The interior needs an entire revamp and upgrading to the extent a need to be pulled down and rebuilt. It got worse once we got into our Junior Suite which cost us around USD$50/room night. Dont let the pictures from the hotel fool you or you will be disappointed. See my actual pictures. Bathtub had so many patches on it that we were wondering who would ever use it. The toilet seat was so small that it did not cover the base fully. Behind the shower area is a big translucent window that when we showered we had to turn the lights out otherwise the occupants in the next building can see everything. Bath towels that smell like mothballs and when wiping dry loose cotton balls can be found on the skin. Pigeons making a ruckus outside the windows. Theres more but Ill stop here. Rooms do not come with hair dryers and when we asked for one they replied all loaned out. We actually had to turn on the heater as external cold air leaks in. Breakfast spread was the usual but OK. WiFi stable but when we first signed in message said too many users already on and to try again later. Cheap but never again.

For me it was amazing experience thanks for the free upgrade . I think that's the best I could get for the price I paid for. The hotel is old one but well maintained. The guy in the room service during evening is superb I think it was DEV.The only thing I want to recommend the wifi need improvement. I would prefer to stay here all the time. Thanks all for the support
