The owners were friendly. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, and I had a very secure spot to keep my bike overnight which was the most important thing on a bike tour :)

Just an overnight stay, I wish it had been longer. Very comfortable room, lovely dinner (with homemade ice cream) and my favourite breakfast (scrambled egg & smoked salmon). Easy to park.

We arrived on a wet and windy teatime and were very warmly welcomed by the host. The property was very homely and cosy and the room was very nice, they had thought of everything including shower caps which I appreciated. There was even some rhubarb pie for us- a lovely touch. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and plentiful. If we come back to the area we will be sure to use again and thank you for the cake recipe which I cant wait to make

A comfortable well equipped room fine for an overnight stay

Comfy Clean room. Had a lovely vegetarian breakfast. Accommodated my out of hours check in as I was working nearby and couldn’t make the normal check in times. Would stay there again.

The young couple were so warm and friendly, even had a home made cookie in our room for a welcome. Fantastic amenities, and so central to everything

Gorgeous little place! Have stayed here twice now and been totally spoiled. The food is fabulous and the owners Glenda and Daniele can not do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Will be going back again without doubt.

Very good facilities, friendly staff and an ideal situation close to the town centre. Free parking outside the front door. Lots of steps so not good for some people but it didn't bother me.

Good reception on arrival and very accommodating helpful

Excellent room, were given an upgrade which was brilliant as it was our anniversary. Only issue was getting into the guest house on arrival. We had replied to an e mail requesting our time of arrival , arrived 20 minutes early and used large metal door knocker but got no answer we then rang the mobile quoted on the wall plaque and left a message. We found out later that this number was incorrect. After waiting in the car for 20 minutes we rang the landline only to discover that the landlady was actually inside all along.

We needed a lovely B and B facility as we were visiting Barnards Castle just for an evening to pick up a puppy! Excellent facilities. In a very good position along a main cross pennine route. Very friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. Like a home from home but I cannot cook like the owner so definitely "more than" a home from home!! Very generous well cooked breakfast.

Lovely overnight stay at Homelands in Barnard Castle, lovely small town, great centre for walking cycling touring

Stayed 2 nights. Room was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. Didn't spend time in the sitting room but looked equally good. Breakfast was excellent. On road parking was fine.

Great location, several excellent places to eat, and some nice pubs as well, all within a ten minute walk from the Guest House.

Friendly hosts, lovely room with a lot of little extras. Comfy bed, and a great breakfast selection made to order. The home made bread was very tasty. The only little disappointment was the behaviour of another guest who decided to have a long leisurely and noisy shower at 4.00 am. Location was just a few mins. Walk from the town centre with loads of places to eat.

Only stayed one night, but it was lovely. The room was quaint and cute, it had a real cottage feel and look. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was a real treat, a home away from home.
