This was my second time at this property.. and I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.. but This last stay was the icing on the cake.. Two of the hotel Front Desk Agent were horrible.. I have been visiting Manizales not only to enjoy the beautiful countryside but to final the documentation for my fiancé.. I book the room for two people and on various occasions we used the hotel as a pit stop to come and shower and change for out next adventure or outting... on 2 separate occasions the staff openly accused my fiancé as being a workings girl and wanted to deny her entry to the hotel.. one even had the nerve to come to my room late one night inquiring of when will she be leaving.. being that my spanish is little .. I didn't realize all the insults that had been made until after I told the desk clerk to leave my door... this is totally unacceptable and if that's how they treat all tourists.. I hope no one ever books with them again.. because I will
never book with them.. I share this with the desk clerk that actually was helpful to me.. he apologized but the damage was done.. I am sure nothing will happen to those two .. which is sad.. besides a terrible parking system.. the hotel is nice.. they just treat foreigners very very rudely!!'

Hotels in a good location however, for me parking was inconvenient because I always had to stop and go inside. Asked him to open the gate for me to drive around to go inside and with the traffic that was very hectic throughout today.

I was expecting more for the price we paid, it is a hotel only to sleep, nothing interesting to do, no coffee, tea or water in the room. Service was good, the staff was very nice and kind always open to help.

The overall stay was okay but the toilet kept not working! There was no heat and the breakfast was very skimpy! I normally like to stay at the BEST HOTEL whenever I stay in a new city and I was told Hotel Varuna was the best hotel in Manizales, which I find hard to believe. I definitely won’t stay there again.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. Our room wasn’t ready when we tried to check in after 3:00; however, they were very accommodating and got us in another room within 10 minutes or so. Nice location as well with restaurants nearby.

Great spot near El Cable, so great location in town. There was an issue with wifi service in the initial room I was in, but the staff were very responsive, and moved me into a nicer room, after which it was great. I'd stay here again for sure. Maybe not in Room 308 if you need good wifi, but otherwise, all very good.

Great location, excellent value includes breakfast! The room and bathroom have ample space! The bed is comfy, wireless internet is unlimited! Depending on the room, some are quiet than others!

It felt like this hotel is a place for prostitution.. I have a reservation for two... My girlfriend came and stayed for 40 minutes. Right after she left, the lady at the reception called me and asked me to pay for the extra person... I was flabbergasted...
She did not take the time to review my reservations.. very bad...
Also be careful for the extra charges... the other person, I think he is the manager, is one of the least polite person you will ever meet.. he yells, he screams and he will make you pay what he wants... (I will take up the extra charges with my Credit Card)
The breakfast is the lousiest breakfast I have ever had.. bad over all in all categories.
Electricity shuts off every 5 minutes..
Noise and drunk people are all around the hotel

Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel for Runa. The staff was amazing, the rooms were modern, clean, and spacious. The lobby is a bit simple and small but theres a big dining room. Its in a great central location as well. Ill be staying there again!

Very friendly and nice service. Big room with comfortable beds. Good wifi, flat tv. Nice breakfast with wide option of hot and cold dishes. It was a bit cold in the room. Shower in general ok but needs some renovation recarding facilities. Very safe and quiet area. It takes by bus 10 minutes to reach center.

Overpriced for what you get. Breakfast was kind of joke for the overpriced tag you pay for. There were meetings of one kind or another going on most of the time and they use the space in restaurant as well, had to wait for a seat for breakfast !! Reception staff and location is great !

A good hotel with helpful and friendly staff. One advantage is that it is in a good location with access to automatic tellers and a variety of restaurants. Also not far in a taxi or bus to the downtown area.The room was spacious and clean. Hot water worked well. The breakfast was simple but good. There is parking access.WiFi okay. The only criticism was that with the computer downstairs the Internet access was not consistent. Still a goodles hotel in a convenient location.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in September 2015. I must say I was blown away by my experience here. It certainly is comparable to a high end chain in the states. Pillow top bed, huge room, flat screen tv, good wifi, extremely competent staff (if not overly friendly), and as is usual in Colombia, spotlessly clean. If you are traveling from the states then you will be alarmed by the low price, but you are getting a H il to n style room for half of what a Su p er 8 costs in the states. I actually extended my stay by 3 days in Manizales due to the fact that I was so tired from traveling and the room was so comfy it was the perfect place to relax and catch my breath. An easy 10 minute walk up to Juan Valdez (the Colombian starbucks) and lots of food options more than you will ever try in one trip, and a big US Style shopping mall. Of course, no one will speak English (folks you are in Colombia).

We stayed 3 nights in late Nov 2013 and were very pleased, excellent location in nice area. They have good dining room and reasonable wine prices. The $155,000 / night rate was attractive but breakfast was not included (approx $15,600 extra for 2 people) .

The Varuna Hotel is superbly located within walking distance of many of the best restaurants and entertainment venues of Manizales. The service provided by the hotel staff is excellent. My room was comfortable and there was even a hot water shower system in the bathroom as well. I had a very pleasant experience at the Varuna Hotel.
