We loved our two nights here. Room was small but extremely comfortable with great bed and furnishings and view of the river. Beautiful outdoor patio beside waterfall, and wonderful balcony to watch the sunset from. So quiet and peaceful. Hosts were warm and welcoming and breakfast each day was a highlight; delicious muffins accompanied a hot breakfast, served with good cheer and conversation. We hope to stay here again someday.

The place is fine and friendly, but the pillows are so soft that it was hard to fall asleep.

We had a warm welcome from the owners; they showed us everything. It was very comfortable. Nice breakfast at a table with other guests. Location is quite close to the beach; just across the street. A short drive to the restaurants/shops of Rivière-du-Loup. Pretty spot with a small waterfall beside them.

Propriétaires sympathiques qui prennent visiblement à coeur leur travail d’aubergistes. Excellent petit déjeuner avec crèpes, oeufs, fruits frais, ainsi que pain et confitures maison. Chambres peu insonorisées. Décor qui date mais qui est réconfortant. J’y retournerais.

Property owner is very nice and helpful. The location is great. You are right across the street from the St Lawerence river with easy access. You can walk to a couple of great restaurants. They also have laundry facilities which many B&B’s do not offer.

Our stay at the Gite Chute Couette & Cafe was perhaps the best B&B experience we have ever had. Our host was thoroughly congenial, attentive to every question and need, provided copious info about local sites, and prepared sumptuous breakfasts with variety. Despite the circumstance that his wife was away for a family need, we noticed no lack in service or thoughtfulness. He is discrete and courteous , as well as a great conversationalist. He seemed to instinctively know when presence was required and when absence was appropriate. In addition, the Notre-Dame-du-Portage region offers scenic views and several accessible activities...especially whale viewing on the St. Lawrence. Furthermore, local restaurants are great, especially Auberge sur Mer...just 5 minutes walk from the B&B. We highly recommend this B&B!!

Our stay was amazing! The room was just as advertised and was perfect. Our breakfast was out of this world. It was two courses. For the main course we were given a choice of 5 different things. Our hosts were fantastic!

Wonderful place to stay in Notre-Dame-du-Portage. Francine and Colbert are welcoming, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable, some with views of the St. Lawrence. Calming sounds of the chute (waterfall) next door. We saw a spectacular sunset. Breakfast, prepared by the hosts was equally good. We would love to return.

This b&b is off the beaten path but a great place to stop when going between the Maritimes and Ontario. We enjoyed how our hosts had created a lot of common space where you cpuld relax both inside and out. The room was fairly compact but with such a nice balcony to hang out on and a lovely garden in back it didnt matter. After having experienced complimentary hotel breakfasts elsewhere it was nice to have a complimentary breakfast that was better than most hotels expensive breakfasts.

I may not be a good candidate for gites. I found the room very cramped, with unnecessary furniture. No one spoke English although they were capable of doing so. The bed was good and the breakfast was very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and looking at the river.
