The bed was really soft, and the sheets weren’t very clean, with some stains and burn marks. The fridge didn’t work, and the AC was a bit loud, which is common in motels. But the price was cheap, so you get what you pay for.

Sketchy people out and about all day and night. The man that checked me in was not friendly at all. Terrible customer service. Everything was unplugged in the room. The remote to the tv didn't work. The bed was a disaster!!! The floor would have been better to sleep on.

This place is absolutely terrible. The guy at the front desk gave me a key to a room that already had someone. That guy was about to kill me and i honestly don’t blame him. When I got to the guy in front desk he didn’t even care. Regarding the room it say full of hair everywhere. I was offer to live here again for free I wouldn’t take it.

good fit for my purpose since I was just passing through town briefly. It is older but inexpensive, clean, quiet, air conditioning was noisy but worked wonderfully, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator worked. Shower was good, plenty of hot water, I slept wonderfully and the bedding was immaculate. Minor language barrier at checkin but the young gentleman was very pleasant and polite and we made it work. The location was a little sketchy, it's in the older part of town, I would not have been comfortable walking around after dark, but there was nowhere to walk to and I didn't go out anyway so that was not a problem for me on this trip. I will be making this trip regularly and I will probably continue to stay there each time. The sign says it is the Stardust Inn but someone had taped over the "dust" part and now it's just called the Star Inn, but it was difficult to find on the maps because it's still listed under Stardust. Don't miss the Mohave River Valley Museum - fossils, rocks & geology, local history, books and much much more!

Need to do a cash deposit. Guys were in the parking lot boxing with gloves at 4am. Took a while to come to the front desk to let me check out in the morning.

checked in around 10-11 pm. room did not match the photos. my biggest issue was the a/c. 110 degrees in barstow and the a/c was working yes but it wasn’t blowing out enough to cool the room off so i was just laying there hot for almost a hour. very uncomfortable. i told the front desk and the guy said he’d fix it but it wasn’t broken. it just wasn’t powerful enough on full speed. so i checked out no later than a hour after checking in. i understand no refund policy so i just took the loss but i was hoping staff would understand & politely refund me. i didn’t fuss or cause a big deal i just left. the guy was nice but i feel it could’ve been handled in a more fair way for me.

Stayed here multiple times. Family owned remodeling the hotel. A gem in the middle of the desert. No frills but clean, friendly and definitely worth staying for the price.

Motel is in a kind of sketchy area, although the bounded parking lot seemed secure. Parking lot was clean. Motel is showing its age and could use a refresh/update. Bedding appeared clean, but sheets had stains. One thing that surprised me is the small number of rooms that appeared to have people living in them.

Great customer service and comfortable clean room. The location isn’t great, but it felt as safe (or safer) than any other motels nearby. Would definitely stay again, great value

The room is fine. Walked to get some dinner and there was excrement on the sidewalk in several places. Also lots of vagrants looking you over and one even pressed their face against the window at the cafe I was eating at. Front desk had an issue finding my reservation but it was resolved with a phone call. There is lots of traffic noise at this location.

My stay so far has been peaceful and nice. My room is spacious and has all that I need during my stay. There are convenient stores within walking distance. Places to eat near by on main street.
The staff was kind and respectful.

For one night in transit at this price absolutely ok. Many small details show that the interior should be refurbished soon.The height of the office chair at the table can no longer be adjusted. I took a cushion to sit reasonably comfortably to be able to work my computer. The tap in the bathroom is so calcified (due to age) that nothing can be adjusted. Water simply comes out of the ceiling shower. Insgesamt sauber. Ein Kissenbezug und der Teppich hatte Flecken, welche durch bessere Reinigung entfernt werden könnten. Ich habe gut geschlafen.

The room has an odor smell and the window cannot be opened. The air conditioner has a sour smell also. I woke up many times during the night due to the heat, smell, and noise from upstairs. Barstow city has been gone down so fast in the past two years, the area is not safe to live overnight.

It was a really nice inn however it is near gambling and it's right next to the freeway. It is a pet friendly hotel unfortunately for us the person staying next to us had a dog that kept barking until their return which was 11:30 so keep that in mind if your just passing through.

I can’t say that the room was filthy but it was certainly not clean. I’m not sure if the bed sheets were washed as there were stray hairs on them and holes in them. The pillows and mattress are probably decades old. The bathroom tub had a lot of stains and dark spots so I didn’t shower. I found and killed a silverfish on the wall. The front desk people were nice. Overall, this is a cheap place to stay so you get what you pay for.

Although this was a cheap place to stay, it was very unkept. It could def use a remodel and someone to pickup broken machinery and keep them out of the walkways. We were happy to have found a place to stay within our budget but we were ready to go a first light due to the surroundings and conditions.

It was alright. The heater didn't work at all so it was extremely cold inside the room and they could have given a discount due to the issue.

Front desk clerk was very friendly and process was very smooth . Only thing I would say is there needs to be carpet cleaning and TV box needs to be fixed as no channels were coming in.

My husband and I pulled up to the Star Dust which looked like a dump from the outside and there were sketchy people outside smoking, so we ended up staying somewhere else. I called for a refund but the front office person barely spoke English, so Expedia helped me in contacting the hotel for a refund. Don’t waste your money. They’re plenty of other local hotels to stay at in much better condition for almost the same price.
