The hotel has been a family business for 60plus years and it shows jn the personal care and attention to detail. Customer satisfaction is the aim of the owners/managers.
For an economical rate this is the place to stay in Leeuwarden!

I stayed at the Anker a few times after my apartment was sold. Not only was it the most economical option for private rooms in Leeuwarden, but also for all of Nederland. Amenities vary by room type, but had a good stay in all the room types I tried. Excellent location in the center of Ljouwert.

The facility was modest but unique. Reception staff not well informed. Some mixed communication took place which was unfortunate, but difficult to pin down whose responsibility it was. Otherwise, great place to stay.

Just a simple little dorm room for me. No bells and whistles. All I needed. I suppose it would’ve been nice if they made the bed, but that’s my only negative.

The location is very good. Unfortunately, the rooms have not been renovated for a very long time. Anything that is broken or worn out is not done. No ventilation and air conditioning. Don't recommend this place!

Room was really warm, which was strange as it was only 26 degrees outside. Hotel is old and appears not upgrades for over 25 Years. Noisy in the sense that you hear and feel people walking in the hallway or adjecent rooms. Breakfast was ok for the price we paid (5 euro per person).

This a charming place in an excellent location in an historic building, but obviously old and in rather run-down condition. The beds were good. Some simple things could make it better - like glasses in the bathroom. The room itself is charmless and I was afraid the windows might fall out when I opened them. One stays in this hotel to be in the middle of things and not to spend much time in one's room. As always in historic Dutch hotels - the steep stairs are awkward to negotiate with heavy suitcases.

Stayed here now on numerous occasions, rooms are great, clean tidy and a comfy bed, not much more you can ask for. Right in the heart of Leeuwarden with lots of bars nearby should you feel the need to venture out, food and beer in the bar itself is superb. Cant recommend this place enough.

Great location. Not so clean and it is worn. So value for quality was not good.Hotel was closed when we arrived (11:00 am); although note on door said they were open. Also could not reach via phone. Very basic breakfast, which is ok. However, the breakfast was not managed well; ran out of bread, croissants, etc. I had to look around to find the staff - they were sitting down eating bread and croissants!! And they were a bit put off that they had to re-stock the breakfast. Again, location was very good.

The Hotel ‘t Anker is in a wonderful location in downtown Leeuwarden. The accommodation was very basic but very comfortable, and great value for the price. The staff were friendly and competent and provided safe, locked storage for bicycles – an important service!

Inexpensive, great value for the money if you can live without your own toilet and shower. But the breakfast was a dissapointment, no vegetables.

My room was very small, but was perfectly clean and comfortable. Very close to the city centre and some good bars.

Nice clean room. Quiet room. Right in the centre of old town. It was good and well priced for the night. Check in was late at 6pm but the owner allowed us to check in at midday which was good and very appreciated.

Just your basics and that’s all that’s needed in Leeuwarden, Europe’s Cultural Capital for 2018. I was rarely in my room but when I was it was clean and quiet. The free breakfast was excellent too!

There are several things that can be provided to you if you ask (at least according to the brochure I had in my room), from an umbrella to packed lunch. Wi-Fi was good enough. The hotel is in a very good localization, and there is a bar in the same building, with pool and other entertainment.Unfortunately, the room wasnt particularly nice, and bathrooms are separate from the rooms. The door to the room with the shower wouldnt lock! The air inside was also a little stale.Overall, I cant recommend this place unless you need the cheapest possible. For what it costs, it probably provides fair conditions.
