Great Location, Great service and Breakfast. Hotel is old but very clean. It was comfortable but was a bit noisy due to all the trams running by. We did sleep pretty well anyway :-) Very walkable to old town :-)

When we checked in to our rooms, we were not happy that we were put in an inside room with a view of the elevator, we had booked canal view. We were immediately moved to the rooms we booked and had a wonderful stay!

I got a room with windows inwards to the elevator and it felt a bit claustrophobic not to be able to see out and open the window- But, it was so so quiet and relaxing without any noice from the outside world. So I was happy !

We booked just a layover before a river cruise but would LOVE to come back again. Great loxation, amazing canal views, walkable to Old Basel.

East West was a super location with a lovely room overlooking the river by the main bridge.
Room was a good size and well equpped.
Sadly no A/C and it was a very hot weekend, so just the fan was not enough!
Also, forgot but swiss hotels dont hsve tea/coffee making facilities which is a shame as well

The location was excellent in all respects. There was neighborhood noise on the street side from bars and restaurants and construction. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great central location. Clean and well kept. Old building is well maintained and has a nice rustic vibe.
River view makes for a great atmosphere, but adds a bit of noise, which we enjoyed, but some may not.

This hotel is VERY minimalist. No air conditioning. No comfortable place to sit. No coffee in the room. No help at the front desk after 3:00 pm. The restaurant and bar closed at 7:00 pm. The front door is locked at 8:00 pm so you must walk around back and use your room key to get in.
The location is good and right on the river, very walkable to everything. Employees were nice.

Nice staff. Continental breakfast- very well located in the center and nearby public transportation ( transport is free ).
It is clean and very good for a three stars. A bit thin pillows, but overall very good!

Nice a lot along the river. It was a little hard to get to because the street in front was blocked by a Christmas market so taxi dropped off a couple blocks away. Close to metro lines, shops and services. Room was good. Top floor Very squeaky wooden floors. Old historic building. Some staff didn’t speak English but we managed. Also they gave us metro passes for free so that was a real bonus. Picture is a view from our room!

A perfectly pleasant little hotel. It has a lively location, which may or may not be a bonus depending on your bed-time; and air-con would have been nice - but that's not a deal-breaker. I'd certainly recommend it.

Very good location in the centre of Basel, close to the Rhein. Charming hotel in an old building. The service in the restaurang was good and the staff helpful and friendly. The room didn't have any coffee or tea maker. Noice and loud music from the bars and restaurang outside. Breakfast was not impressive. I suggest to book a room with a river view and to skip the hotel breakfast.

Website says airport transfer. I used the filter for air transport. There isn't any transport. Needs to be removed from website and filter. The room didn't have any air only a fan. There wasn't adequate lighting in the room. The location was nice. The location is more of a restaurant and bar.

Great place and great area . Close to everything within short walking distance . Room was much larger than most in Europe . Definitely would stay here again.

We did not have hot water at first. When we got back to the hotel, around 10:30 pm, we told the attendant. He called the manager, who was off-duty but came within 10 minutes and fixed it. Many, many thanks!

Nice little hotel with friendly staff.
Our room smelled of drains, but not enough to warrant a complaint. It was cosy and warm and had a pleasant view to the river.
The bar next to the hotel can be bothersome with loud music (up until around 2300) and loud locals/tourists.
Rooms with a view of the river are by far the better choice.
Basel itself is a pleasant town with many nice streets away from the noise and bustle of the central town. There are many old houses dating back as early as the 12th Century and some even older.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants in and around the town, but the prices were somewhat higher than we had expected.
