This is a horrible nasty place. The owner/front desk person tried to scam. It was for my daughter and me so I booked one room with queen bed but he counted the head and made me sign a bill for double price for adding my daughter. Bedsheets had red stains. We just sat on the side of the bed whole night and did not even look how underneath the comfort looked since it looked scary. Also it had a bad odor the moment we entered the hotel.

bed linens stained and dirty...literally had to brush debris off the sheets. Plumbing under the sink fell off...let me say that again, a 2 foot section of plumbing fell to the ground and water was everywhere.

It had no parking for a rental car. The lots available in the area did not do overnight parking.The one that did had poor reviews about breaking.

No parking and no bathroom in room, no tub

There is no bathroom inside the room. Everyone has to share the bathroom/shower in the common area. It's especially inconvenient at night! I guess there is disclosure before you finalize the booking but unfortunately, I did not see it.

We booked our stay for an extremely busy weekend in town. We booked rather late so selection was limited. We need a place that we can walk to our destination, so that makes our selection very limited for our budget. We know this hotel is in an old building. The room was smaller than expected. The lighting was not working but the staff was very helpful and responsive and got it figured out. The fact that the light fixture was burned out and left a mark on the desk was a bit concerning. All in all, this hotel is as we have expected.

For the price, good deal with great location in downtown Berkeley and room not street side was quiet. Neat older building design (though a bit tight).

This is a quaint hotel perfect for seeing a show at the UC theatre. It has an ancient vibe going for it. The only thing I could say that was hard about the stay was the lack of parking, the sheets were a bit stained, and the stopper on the shower/tub was stuck in between but all and all a good stay. Especially if you plan on getting out of the bars or show late and need a nosh the Nash Cafe was open for some bomb food.

Loved the area and the vibe of the hotel. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Window looked onto a small but beautiful garden. My only beef was low water pressure in the shower. But overall a really great choice.

Car window got smashed and bags stolen as we checked in, gone 5 minutes. Staff incredibly unhelpful.

It was overpriced for what you get in opinion. It was a little bit dirty and run down. It is an old building but not kept up well. I was just expecting something much nicer. The location is nice though .

It was completely unclear to me that you were supposed to have a shared bathroom at the price. I booked. They only told me when I got there. That is disgusting.

Very nice and friendly staff. Rooms are good quality and are worth the price. Rooms feel very safe and sound insolation is pretty good. Me and friends have stayed here multiple times (4) because the location is very good for eating and bars, as well as being close to Berkeley college. The biggest downside is there is no parking, and the nearby parking garage that can accrue a pretty high fee if you need to keep it there for many days. When I visit San Francisco I will always stay here because of the convenient transportation as well. Great little hotel!!

The Nash has the best value for the price of any hotel in Berkeley!

They don’t provide tissue at room (I learned it’s their policy). I found “dried tea leaves” inside the spout of electrical kettle. But after scratching it out, I found it was “dried roach”. Although I requested to unclog the clogged shower drainage and repair broken bedside lamp, they never showed up. They can do better by displaying the history of Berkeley as a historical hotel.

On the ad it states there’s a parking garage on center that is $25 for a day. I parked there then walked to the hotel I went to check in which took about 15 mins to get in the door (lady was having a conversation with co worker while I was waiting to come in) had to call to get let in , then the lady let me in she told me where to go to check in where I waiting longer. I called the number again and the man sent her upstairs to check me in. She apologized then upgraded my room. I asked about the parking if I needed my ticket validated she said no it’s free. Left about 5:30am and my ticket to get out was $37 will NOT be staying here again!! Advertisement on Expedia is not correct

It's in a good location. No parking is an issue but the lot isn't too far.

It's in a really good spot for getting around downtown Berkeley or onto UCB campus. The room I had was a good size, came with a fridge, microwave and electric kettle. The place has a lot of character.

The drop back is no bath room in side those guest room.

Location is the best quality. Bed was small and uncomfortable. I know you are basically paying for location. Would be nice to update the rooms, and get some better beds and pillows. Small conveniences like ice would be nice as well.

Its a very old hotel with old carpet, doors, furnture. The are is great being close to Cal Berkeley and tons of excellent restaurants. My room is 10x12' but gets me sleep. A shared bathroom in the hall way. Not cheap but probably cheaper than most others nearby. 2 stars.

I had roaches in my room, no parking, no bathrooom in room

The single worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Here’s a list: 1. The bed gave me a rash 2. Basically no wifi 3. Freezing cold, they didn’t run the heat 4. Toilet didn’t flush 5. Cockroaches 6. Fire exit was blocked by metal grates and a wooden block that wouldn’t let you open the window 7. Carpets were sticky 8. Some lights and power outlets didn’t work. Scary to think about a short circuit inside the 200 year old walls when you don’t have a fire exit. 9. Front desk was never there

No water pressure for the shower

Difficult to unload and store luggage while looking for a place to park a car temporarily while storing the luggage more permanently

Cold, dingy and stuffy. Broken furniture and shared bathrooms. Unfriendly and frequently absent customer service. No room cleaning.

This shabby old hotel could have some charm with a decent renovation. But carpeting is dirty, fixtures are old, no one was generally at the reception desk, and there were bugs in the room and bathroom. Not a place I would revisit or recommend.
