Do not stay here if you plan on sleeping. No where does it mention that they are located DIRECTLY above a nightclub. From 7pm-3am plan on incredibly loud music and screaming people outside your room every single night. The trash comes EVERY MORNING at 6 am as well and it rattles your room. They are aware of the noise problem and provide earplugs and a noise machine but it does nothing to drown out the noise as it is THAT loud. If they are aware it’s a problem, they should at least include that in the description. The bass speakers of the nightclub rattle your room the entire night. The hallways are also very dirty and not anything like the hotel pictures. It also reeks of trash and has no lobby whatsoever.

This place did everything they could to ruin my birthday so I went elsewhere

The room was very nice and decorated well. The hallways were a little less clean but it didnt matter. The only really bad thing was that the elevators didnt work the whole time i was there.

Excellent location, excellent instruction. If possible, get an Uber as parking is crazy! We had zero problems during our stay. Large shower, nice towels, decent bed and pillows. Very clean and lots of attention to detail! Would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was so amazing ! Very convenient in the heart of gaslamp and their communication was amazing. Very spacious and comfortable home vibes. Loved it ! I can’t wait to stay here again

10/10 !! loved that it was in the heart of gaslamp which made exploring downtown so much easier and now having to deal with Ubers. Check in and out process was so easy 10/10 how you’re able to do everything from your phone. Room was clean, mini kitchen was great. perfect size for my friend and I. Definitely coming back Noise wasn’t an issue for us. parked at a structure five minutes away.

I love how convenient it was to go to eat and have a drink when we were staying 2 minutes away from everything! I only have 2 complaints the first is the smell once you leave your room, it smells like boiled cabbage and the second complaint which is very minor is the fact the TV is not in the bedroom but in the living room and didn't work. Outside of the 2 little complaints the stay was amazing and I loved the whole mini apartment we stayed in!!

In the room I had there was only one window - it was in the bedroom, and the bed was blocking the window. I really appreciate waking up to natural light when i have my coffee; not in this space. Disappointed. The room was clean, yet dated. The huge air conditioning fan was in the bedroom and was on-off-on-off all night; a bit disrupting. Other than that, The area on Fifth avenue was lively and offering many places to eat and socialize- and also close to the convention center. There is also a grocery store nearby to buy supplies for breakfast and take-out.

I had trouble getting into the property at first, but got immediate and courteous help. It was clean and very nicely equipped in the kitchenette, etc. and free laundry room! Great option for a five night stay.

Booked in a rush and didn't realize the location. It's right above a bar! Bars don't close til 3-4 am, and the music is VERY loud. The room itself was nice and small. Also, be aware that this place doesn't offer parking! We found a parking garage about a 5 minute walk away

I liked the ease of communication with the virtual team. The place is small but has everything. Coffees lovers bring your little machine (I had a travel espresso) or filters/ground coffee. They had.

The property was very clean and spacious. It was easy to enter the building.

Suggest you research and reserve parking at one of the garages/lots ahead of time

Location worked well for a business trip (Convention Center was a 10-min walk). Noise wasn't a problem, but I think that's more because of the room I got (the only window was in the bedroom -- the lack of any other windows, particularly in San Diego, made the rest of the roomy apartment feel constricting).

stay was nice. only complaint is that there was an open can left in the fridge

Terrible, unclean and loud. Walked in and there were dead roaches. They couldn't do anything about it as there's no help on site and could only communicate via text.

Super noisy - beside a bar - noise lasts well past midnight even Sunday/mid week

We loved the location due to the close proximity to the baseball stadium. The room was very spacious and well stocked. The noise level was very high. Starting at 7am with beer and food delivery trucks til 2:00 am when the bar below you closed. Five hours of sleep was not enough when on a vacation stay.

Unfortunately this “hotel” is adjacent to a loud club / bar and the music is incredibly LOUD until about 2 am EVERY night. Since there is no on-site staff, I called and complained. They told me that the rooms had a disclaimer on them since they were in the Gaslamp district. And they would not refund my rental fees. They also pointed out the white noise generator and ear plugs available in each room.

The description for this property did not match the reality. Dirty sticky floors loud air conditioner. Wasn't a horrible value for what I paid, but it was not at all as described

The hotel was very hard to access secondary to the street not allowing cars. You had to carry your luggage down the street. It was also very noisy as the bars don’t close till 2am

The room was nice but it was on second floor above a restaurant / bar that was open and playing loud music until 2am. Should have known I was in for a loud night when there was a white noise machine and earplugs in the bedroom closet.

The property is located in a great location right in the center of things and close to the convention center. While adequate, there are issues, and I am left disappointed. In terms of the overall property, For communication, Sonder requires you to download their app to communicate with them - no ability to do so on the website. This hotel does not have a front desk or onsite staff (which is fine). What is not fine, there is little help with 'check-in', with essentially just follow the directions. They work, but trying to see the directions in a dark hallway is a challenge. Though the 2 texts in addition to email about asking when I would leave the property were intrusive. For the condition, it was o.k., the security was not. The restaurant next door shares the elevator. Often I would come back and the door would be propped open - people could just walk in. Sometimes the elevator would be full of buckets of ice (without people) transporting food / beverage for the restaurant. For the condition, it was clean enough, but there was black mold in the bathroom (by the shower head, and between the sliding doors to the shower). Overall, apart from the issue with the security I would stay there again if the price were right due to the convenience and size of the apartment. I'm also not impressed with Sondor and wish they were a bit more responsive and available. While they might get back with an issue, it could be an hour or two . . . not great if your access code doesn't work

Unit smelled of mildew, it would have been nice to list a couple of of places for over night parking. Sink drains slowly and bathroom door loudly squeaks. There was human feces on the hallway floor, first floor this morning morning! Thank you for the nice touches such as earplugs, kitchen amenities and bed mattress.

Nice place but very noisy, no window, shower no water pressure, sink bath draining slowly.

Lively neighborhood. Great apartment, very clean, roomy, well equipped kitchen. Noise wasn’t an issue at all (room was farthest away from pub). Will be my pick if I return to San Diego. Wish checkin time was 3pm like other hotels. Many homeless which doesn’t make solo women walking safe at night.

The noise was unbearable at night as the room faced the busy street.

Loved this place! It has everything I need for comfort, location, character, history, and value. Well appointed kitchenette, very nice linens, clean.

The property had everything I needed to enjoy my time there including a full kitchen with all the appliances. It was bright and spacious and I felt like I was in my own apartment. It is my "go to" the next time I'm in San Diego!

Didn't like that I didn't have access to view tv without having a streaming service (which I do not) so I couldn't watch the tv. Clubs and restaurants and active entertainment below room until early morning hours every night.

Our elevator didn't work at one point and we woke up at 2:30 am to very loud noise on our last night that sounded like gun shot sounds like 4 times and I downloaded the app for the tv and an escort service charged my card immediately for 39.99 so I had to cancel my card because of it..
