I could focus my review on the hotel itself which well exceeded my expectations, but instead I want to use the characters I have available to me to praise Marta and the staff at Rinconcito Verde. Marta in particular went far beyond what could reasonably be expected from a hotel manager. I think it is fair to say that she took the lemons presented to us by Enterprise rent a car and turned them into lemonade! Minus Marta's interventions our holiday in Costa Rica could have gotten off to a disastrous start. In a very real way Marta set the tone for our visit. She became the first of many Ticos we would meet who, with a quick and welcoming smile, made what can at times be the challenges of international travel completely disappear. Although I believe it to be an inadequate expression of our appreciation, thank you most sincerely Marta!

Very friendly……accommodating…..reception from William. Appreciated the early checkin because room was ready. Helped us with the jacuzzi setup. The complimentary breakfast was quite filling……had 4 choices…..delicious omelet and gallo pinto. Workers were very friendly and courteous. Beautiful setting…..lush tropical plants.

I think her name was Joanne or Joanna but she was amazing! She had to be the friendliest and most helpful front desk attendant ever. We gave her a good tip. The view is amazing and the hotel is surrounded by fauna. The rooms are not the nicest but everything else makes up for it.

Beautiful valley view at this location! Family run staff are very friendly and helpful with any issues or questions about the area. The property is very clean, and well maintained. We enjoyed the included breakfast prepared when you start your day. The property is very ecology minded, with solar water heating in the rooms and for the swimming pool. Will definitely recommend to others and return again ourselves!

It has a nice view and nice pool. Jennifer checked me in and she could not have been nicer. Breakfast was also very tasty. The property has a gate that opens directly off the street and the gate is usually closed. When you arrive you can call them to open the automated gate for you so you can pull inside.

Beautuful view into the valley and lake when sitting or lying on sun bed. There is a warm Jaccusi to sit in overlooking the valley. Nice pool for a swim. Very friendly staff and helpful. Hotel relative simple and clean. Good hot water and nice breakfast with a view at the terras.

Property is lovely and operated by owners -- truly unique and a GREAT experience.

Altho located on a major thoroughfare for large trucks and vehi6- this is an AMAZING facility! Just loved it! Absolutely nothing can chamge the traffic sounds but the ambience, staff and VIEWS make it worthearning to block trafgic noise..We loved it, the longer we stayed, the harder it was to leave. AWESOME!

Too far out of town. Entry difficult. Mechanized gate with deep culverts on both sides made turning in very touchy. The setting was very pretty, though.

The overlook is beautiful. Staff is really helpful in taking buses and taxis, and knowledgeable about surrounding areas. The breakfast were delicious. The property was clean. Hot water for showers. The mattress was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

The most difficult thing appears to be able to find the hotel. It is off a busy road on a tight turn with limited width and you will find you have to use the intercom to get the gate to be opened. Use this GPS: 9.834830, -83.836998 location to get you to the exact turn-off for the private gated hotel.Parking is sufficient once inside and the rooms spacious with good beds and bathrooms/showers. Comfy seating on each verandah provides needed relaxation. The kitchen in the room has fridge and coffee making facilities. WiFi is good throughout the hotel grounds.The breakfast area has a magnificent view over the lake and beyond. Pool water was crystal clear. Would recommend.

Another nice family run hotel. The owner and staff were great. The hotel provides a cooked breakfast on the terrace everyday and our huge room had a fantastic view of Orosi valley. The pool is solar heated to keep it warm because the evenings are cool and there is secure parking out front with an automatic gate. Beware if you visit the ruins at Guayabo - you get there on some very rough unpaved roads. Don't try it in a normal sedan. Volcan Urazu is worth the trip.

Breakfast was good the next morning The WiFi was the best we had the whole time in Costa Rica. Marta, the owner, came to our rescue when the rental car would not start because of a dead battery in the key fob. She drove us into town and back to get a new one. She was a life saver and would not accept gas money we offered. The property entrance is on a hairpin turn. The downshifting trucks on the road going down the mountain are loud. As it gets later the noise settles down. My suggestion to improve comfort of room would be newer, fresher sheets, blankets and bedspreads. Ours were threadbare and did not seem freshly laundered. Must see besides Orosi Valley drive is Jardin Botanical Gardins.

Unbelievable view from dining patio and pool and from the room. This is one of those places where everything is so beautiful it hurts. Wonderful people running it- a family- all smart and professional and personable. Great staff overall. Nice breakfast, and they will make you batidos and have beer for sale. Food available to go from local restaurants can be delivered. Just and outstanding simple small resort for a fair price.
