The room was facing the main road and it was noisy with the bikes on the street all night. I also couldn't understand why the pillows seem to be scented. I have a sensitive nose and that irritated my nose all the time. Plus the Aircon switched off on its own 3 times in the night. I thought it was off for a short while as the room reached the right temperature, but it didn't turn back on and I was starting to sweat, so I have to stand up and turn it back on. The doors of the rooms were also quite heavy so you hear other people closing their doors all the time.

The Gunawarman was booked on the recommendation of a local colleague. He understood that as westerners we would want to eat and drink either in the hotel or nearby and it did not disappoint. The hotel itself is very nice with beautiful spaces, rooms, bar and dining area. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I would definitely stay again.

This is my second stay there. First time everything was ok. But this time room was not made up after first night. Only 1 towel was available at begining and after special request I got face towel. Food in hotel restaurant caused whole night diharea.

The Gunawarman still has a lot of character, and represents decent value for a luxury hotel in Jakarta. However the fact that they’ve now removed what few gym facilities there were, and made the downstairs lounge members only means that this will likely be my last trip staying here. It’s definitely suffered due to the pandemic.

Best boutique hotel in Jakarta South. Away from the hustle and bustle of CBD and it is nice to relax after a whole day of business meetings. Nearby there are good up market restaurants and cafes. I will return again

This is one of my favorite hotels in Jakarta -- more a personal boutique hotel with warm staff that know your name. Very safe and beautiful. Near a number of great restaurants / offices in the SCBD area.

Very convenient location with many restaurants and the District 8 mall within walking distance. Absolutely love the artisan design of this hotel and the great amenities, especially the coffee machine and the quality of the tooth brush. Housekeeping service was also on par when we asked for the turndown service.The only downside is the lack of a swimming pool and also the gym which looked more like a storage room. Word of advice, if you want a more quiet stay, best to ask for 2nd or 3rd floor rooms as the 1st floor is too close to the lobby.

Unique building filled with nostalgia. It's a great if that suits your taste. Not so great if you're looking for ultra modern hotels typical of modern Asian metropolis.
Also, the hotel is surrounded by great restaurants of all kinds but the sidewalk infrastructure in Jakarta is horrendous. I was afraid of getting hit by speeding cars as we were forced into vehicle lanes at times to avoid obstacles in the pedestrian sidewalk. Certainly not an aspect directly controllable by the hotel but nevertheless I hope that improves in the near future.

Pretty amazing hotel with a good breakfast, not forgetting the coffee it served.BUT the misbehavior of housekeeping is definitely not acceptable! That someone came into my room and ate my re-sealable waffle cookie and left crumps beside the basin.Im an anal person and always reseal my packaging with a tri-fold gesture, follow by the clip. Whereby the person just double fold and clip.Would you dare to come back again, knowing someone that will open your stuff in your room.!?!

Everything was lovely except that there were mosquitos in the rooms that kept me awake at night. Had to call front desk to bring mosquito sprays. would be great if housekeeping could spray the room before guest arrivals :)

The Gunawarman is right smack in the middle of Senopati, which pretty much makes it the best-located hotel in Jakarta. Staff are all awesome and it's always an absolute pleasure staying there.

The interiors of the hotel is so nice snd the staffs are very attentive and helpful. The hotel location is good too with lots of restaurants around the area. We enjoy our stay there. The only thing is the room that we choose was rather small. Will choose a different category for our next trip.

However sleep was compromised as the hotel has loud music for at least 3 times a week. The sound proofing isn’t so good. If you don’t mind the noise, the Sofia restaurant at the hotel is apparently the latest hang out place for great music and great food.

Hotel is instagramable to the core. Its beautifully kept and maintained. Rooms are cute, but you can feel claustrophobic at times due to the wall in the room and color of the walls making room a bit dull in third floor. Bathroom was fantastic with european decorations and really impressive.
My complaint will be food, nothing tastef that great for some reason even there breakfast or dinner. May be they can improve on it.
Overall I felt price was too much for the facilities provided.

Booking through on line service will not tell you that the hotel is being taken over by a wedding. If you book through the hotel then you can at least ask the question and change your choice of location.
