Phone was missing buttons, drawers were missing out of the dresser, the vent in the bathroom was unplugged and the vent cover on the tub, mold in the shower. No door locks like hotels usually have. AC wasn’t working right. They refused our money back and could only move us to a different room. This place should be shut down.

Stinky place, I will never again dare to stay here.

We booked a room thru Expedia at the Vagabond Inn in Bakersfield, CA and when we got there to check in they gave us a room that smelled of sewer gas. We went back to the office and asked for a different room and they gave us another room that the air-conditioning unit didn't work, it would turn on then back off immediately. And, since it was a very hot evening, we couldn't get by without AC. Also, the room was advertised with free breakfast, but after I already paid for it then we were told there is no breakfast included. So, I then asked for my money back and the hotel front desk personnel refused a refund stating we were there for 30 mins from time of checkin. This was all so disappointing and a very bad experience. We ended up going to another hotel to get a room. I am asking for a full refund of this booking from Expedia and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The property is fairly big with ample parking. The staff is friendly for the most part. There are quit a bit of homeless in the area, but very few parts of California don't have their issues concerning them. They do have cameras though and staff does keep an eye on them so that helps. It's clean and has the amenities that are listed in the rooms, so over all it's a decent place to stay.

Service is great. Blankets had cig burns, smelt horrible, floor was sticky. And the last day found a roach come out the bath. Cheap place. You get what you pay for.

I did read the reviews prior to my stay but as one person stated there was grass for his dog, this was the only reason I stayed here. Upon arrival and walking my dog, i found a used syringe in the parking lot. Later that evening, there was a guy shooting up near the same spot. There was a huge presence of homeless drug addicts (I counted 18 at one time) in various stages of consciousness along with a few prostitutes peppered in the mix to give it some spice. Roaches in the room, and parking lot was covered in asphalt "dust" of sorts that transferred to my room which was annoying. No breakfast as advertised but wouldn't have eaten it anyway due to the roaches and overall cleanliness of the place. Despite all this, I slept OK with the 2 tiny lumpy pillows and shower was hot. Dried off with and old dingy towel (more like a hand towel). Next time I come to Bakersfield, this is a NOPE for me

Nice price, good location, but room is quite old

I didn’t like the property at all, the first room I went in had roaches crawling all over the bathroom, room #177 which I then switched rooms

Everything was dirty. Sheets, room, everything. We had to go out and buy new sheets in order to be able to sleep. We did not even use the bathroom. Went to MacDonalds. We did not take a shower or wash up. OMG What a terrible place. because of this hotel, I rated you 7 for recommendation. You should ask for a refund and refund us the money for this hotel. My husband and I have been travelling since Aug 1st till Aug 9th. We slept in several hotels and booked them all under you. Some in my husband's name, James Halliday and some in my name. I was extremely disappointed at this hotel.

I loved my stay there I had a wonderful experience and they have wonderful and very helpful employee like Mrs. Edie, Virginia, Chrissy, Dan, regal,they have always did what they can to help and accommodate any situation a guess had and I'm happy to say Megan has also improved on being courteous and helping guest the only issue I had was with a new girl who worked front desk graveyard shift who was being disrespectful. But as soon as management was informed the issue was taken care of immediately. My family and I have Stayed here many times and we have always enjoy are stay and will continue to makes this VAGABOND are Maine place to stay. And MRS. EDIE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

The maids are all snobby and nasty. They are very disrespectful and they make fun of people did they left the room a little messy. Like thats what your job is for to clean. The manager is very rude as well, I was microwaving my food and she came over and told me to leave and unplugged it and geabbed my things never again will I ever go there.

Horrible the room advertised was nothing like the room we got. There were roaches!!! The area was disgusting!

Roach infested mattress was stained and dirty

Sheets had cigarette burns. Not as advertised in photos. Smelled like cigarette. Pillow case had stains. I started itching within minutes on entering the room. 1 towel in the room for 3 people. Almost a finished toilet paper roll in the bathroom. No extra ones. Please check your room before giving your money. Front desk said Manager is the only person to approve refunds and would be there til the next morning. I would not have my child sleep on those beds or in that room. I immediately booked another hotel and left.

Doesn't come with breakfast anymore like it says online and there's all these hooligans or bums all over it was a couple of individuals in front of my door smoking out of a dope meth pipe will not worth my money I had to clean my room before I even moved in to the even use it I have a child it's very inconvenient for me to have to worry about opening my door and my kids seeing somebody smoking right in front of my room

Room was sorta clean , had roaches n bugs that got into our food , floors were nasty, turned feet black, dirty towels but were clean supposedly.. had to ask for toilet paper and remote . Pics on hotels.com was not what we got .. pics were false , won’t stay there again ;/

The room was incredibly unsafe the door lock didn’t work as well as the door not fitting the frame properly. When we arrived. There was a older woman sitting in our room with the door open, which was disconcerting so I called Office and they said to come by and they’d give us a better room when over there and found out it was actually just the owner wanting to snoop around to “check the tv”. There were roaches. Only one pillow for me and my partner to share. They knock as hard as they can on the door constantly for four hours before checkout in the morning. The staff is rude and they will do anything they can to charge you more.

Not a good experience. Room was in horrible condition. torn sheets, smelled like smoke in a smoke free room. Place was dirty. not at all like the pictures. shower head was broken and not working..
