We arrived very late (close to closing time) as we were delayed at Sydney airport and had to drive there.
The staff were really warm and welcoming and even though they had closed the kitchen, they put in a pizza for us so that our 10 year old son had some dinner before he slept.
Very tasty and so grateful for it.

Check in was smooth, it was done at the bistro’s counter. Staffs were friendly. The room was clean, basics met. There is on-site parking depending on availability, the alternative would be street parking, which was easy and available near the hotel. As the room was above a bistro, music was playing till 11. Noise levels were all right after that.

The staff are very nice, but appear to be overwhelmed because they need to manage the pub as well as the hotel. The room appeared to be clean upon checking in. I felt safe as a solo female traveler.
They don’t offer daily housekeeping as advertised on the third party booking platform. When they did, The housekeeping during my stay wasn’t through at all. Internet didn’t work for me the entire time.

Old building but room was clean and comfortable. Pretty good value and suitable location. Dining room is nice and food and service was good. A little noisy with the band but didn’t keep us awake. Great place for a quick overnight stay.

We truly enjoyed our stay in thisnplace, lovely and friendly staff.
The only one hard thing for us was carrying our baggages to the second floor by ourselves. Other than everything is perfect about this place.

Old hotel, have to climb the stairs with our two luggages because there is no lift. One of the staff helped to take our luggages upstairs which was nice.

The Katoomba Family Hotel offers cosy rooms in the heart of Katoomba. The rooms were spacious with private bathrooms, and the bed was very comfortable. A/C for the summer heat was brilliant, and I could see the heating is an efficient system that I'm sure would be brilliant in the winter months. Great location, and very friendly staff who made our check in and out very easy. I would highly recommend!

Clean and tidy property. Room was very small. Food portions in bistro downstairs were gigantic. One meal could have fed 2 people. Overall, good value for money.

It is being renovated so messy, had to change rooms as lights didn't work, hot water took ten minutes to get hot. People talking until 4am.

We stayed a night on 30 June 2023. We travelled by train from Sydney and it was a short walk from the station to the hotel. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was great and the bed really comfortable. The hot water took a long time to come through in the shower but once it came through it was easy to adjust with the cold water.
We had dinner in the Bistro in front of the fire. The Balmoral Chicken was really lovely. Would certainly stay there again and recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

The only issue I had was the small size of the bathrooms. You nearly needed to be a contortionist to dry yourself off.

Stayed on a Saturday night in March. Easy free on-street parking nearby or 2 minute walk to station. Keys quickly collected at the bar. Rooms were recently refurbished to a good standard. Clean, comfortable, cold AC, mini fridge, tea & coffee, lots of towels, queen bed a single. 2nd floor room - didn't notice any noise from the pub even with live music playing. Would recommend and would stay there again.

Perfect position. Renovations in progress was not at all inconvenient to us. The bar on Sunday evening was great as Irish music from local musicians. Really enjoyed our stay. Will return.

The property itself is decent and I appreciated the renovated room. Unfortunately the rooms facing the terrace are affected by the smoking section of the restaurant. The smell of cigarettes is quite strong despite the rooms being non-smoking.

This hotel was not comfortable. As seen on the following photos, the corridors were filled with construction rubbish and other combustible material, the windows were not openable and the interior of the room not at all cozy, with a primitive bath in a closet. The worst was the fire danger and lack of escape possibility in case of fire. The hotel was not value for the price.

The accommodation was a neat, clean and tidy room. The bathroom and shower were more than adequate. The only criticism is that the hot water took ages to start running.

Convenient location when seeing a show in the Baroque room. Clean room, mattress in good nick and good price for a Saturday. Will use this hotel again

Very poor stay - loud band on until 12pm directly below our room. Far from a ‘family hotel’ no hotel water for a shower with no one around to help, emailed to complain and got told I was lying, can safely say I would never stay here again and would advise anyone looking for good service, comfort and a hot shower to stay elsewhere

A great find in Katoomba. Very good value for money and perfectly located in the heart of Katoomba. Spotlessly clean and the dining room fantastic with lovely friendly and accommodating staff. Would thoroughly recommend
