Central location in the new city (old city 20-25 min walk away, hill up and down). Facilities moderate, as a budget traveler you can easily survive. Construction going on around the house, was not informed beforehand :-(

In my booking, it said a patio so I was a bit confused when I was directed to a room. It doesn't matter since the room was neat and has a toilet and shower which was what i really needed. The room was just the right size, has a little fridge, a kettle and cups for coffee or tea (not provided). But there are no teaspoon to stir my hot drink and cups are not also collected/washed by the staff. Also, I dont have anywhere to clean it apart from the sink in the toilet. I go out early in the morning and go home late so I dont have anyone to speak to with my concerns nor do they have a contact number to call. I think they live there but I have seen them only once and that was when I checked in. When I checked out (7:30 am) I havent seen anyone as well, so I just left the room open and the keys on the table. I dont know if that was the right thing as they didnt give instructions but that what the other occupant did. Overall and despite that, the stay was lovely. I was comfortable with the room and having the property near a spermarket was really convenient. It was a bit of a walk going to the old town and the main bus station but I enjoyed the view.

We stayed at Guest House Kusalo because we decided to add an extra night to our stay in Dubrovnik and wanted something closer to the bus station than where we were staying on the old town. As we were moving hotels, we arrived quite early and even though they were finishing the cleaning they allowed us to check in early. We were also offered a glass of ice water which was very much appreciated on a hot day. There is no reception which is fine but you just need to let them know what time you are coming in advance. The room itself was ok but there were a few maintenance issues in the bathroom. The bathroom door was broken off it’s hinges and the light didn’t work. As there was no reception we couldn’t tell anyone about these issues and we left early the next morning.

As we were moving hotels, we arrived quite early and even though they were finishing the cleaning they allowed us to check in early. Horrible, horrible experience. A tiny, small room offered for two people - we had to jump over our suitcases to make it to our beds. The beds were unbelievable, not in a good way. I mean really unbelievable: small, but the real problem was they were made up! No actual proper mattresses - just a collection of pieces of foam on top of each other. Theyd move and slide towards the floor after 2 mins of being on them (my friend took photos of the beds, I dont have them unfortunately). I literally woke up with backache every morning I was there. Left the place and booked a last minute Airbnb to spend our last night (unfortunately Hotels refused to cancel our booking, despite being on the phone with them for 90 minutes, explaining the horrific conditions).

Great place to stay for a budget holiday in Dubrovnik! Also very good service that the owner stayed up to wait for me since I had a really late check in (01.30 in the night). The place feels very safe, and quiet, even if it is in the center of the city. Plus points for pool and outdoor facilities!

Walking distance to the old Town, if you don’t mind walking two kilometers, also buses and staff can drive you for a small fee. Family staff who were very helpful and friendly. Small swimming pool but clean and can be used. Equipments very old, including all the electricity devices and cleaning dot so professional. More like family housing but if you are not too demanding, very nice stay. We had a fridge and had our own breakfast at the shared terrace. Walls are thin so earplugs are needed if the other guests are speaking loudly and late, like in our case did, other wise no bars near or traffic noise or anything like that.

Заселили на час раньше, чем написано, сразу по приезду. Хозяйка и хозяин очень милые люди. Предлагали кофе )). А когда мы попросили оставить багаж чуть дольше, по выезду, сразу сказали, что без проблем. Нам не повезло с погодой, дожди и пасмурно. А если бы чуть теплее было, то во дворе есть отличный бассейн. )) Все супер!

So satisified with my stay at this lovely place. Warm and charming athmosphere. Would love to recommend this place if you are looking for a budget friendly place, walking distance to the Old Town (Uber 3-4€). The hosts will take good care of you all.

We had a wonderful stay at Kusalo! Our room was very clean and comfortable, our hosts were very accommodating. The guest house is a short walk to the Old Town, near to restaurants and shops. Free parking. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Great stay. The place is a bit of a walk from old town (25 min or so), but has some cool views along the walk. The room was nice and was clean. The lady who runs the place was very friendly. She offered coffee in the morning, gave us a small bit of breakfast (might not happen in busier seasons?), let us stay late on our checkout day, and even brought us a traditional Croatian fish plate for free. Offered an airport shuttle that is cheaper than taxis, even though we took the bus out. Would stay here again.

I did not realize when I booked this property that my room would be in the owner's living quarters. For me this is undesirable. The guest house is reasonably priced and walking distance from the old city. My experience was ok overall, but I would not stay here again if I return to Dubrovnik.

The guest house was good considering the price we paid. Room was tidy even though it was a little stuffy. But that was probably due to the weather. Check in was not such a smooth process. I called in advance and said I'd be arriving at 4. When we arrived noone was there. We rang the bell multiple times and tried calling but no answer. After about an hour Expedia somehow managed to contact the owner. We were given a key and that was the last contact we had for the next 5 days we stayed there.

The owner very Lovely and kind, the place is great and close to the harbor and restaurants buses. We enjoy our stay there so much. Iris. Wadie. Shamieh

dubrovnik is a rather toruist city, everything is expensivekusalo is value for moneythe location is not ok, easily accessible with busbut the nearest restaurant closed on Sundays, so make sure you dine before you backthe host doesnt speak good english, so they cant really recommend something to mebut I can still feel their warm servicemy room is full of insects, like moth, spider, mosquito, not their fault, cause ther are hills nearbythey also have the insecticide, I dont really like to use itto wrap it up, its very valuable of money in such a tourist city
