It is a historical building with modest rooms. Excellent restaurant on site.
4.4
Lovely historic inn, close to shops and eateries, including the restaurant downstairs. Great cassoulet.
Good-sized room, with a nice bathroom. If stairs are a problem, you will need to reconsider your options.
Loved the long upstairs balcony at the front of the inn where guests can sit, read, have a drink, etc
4.4
Comfortable accommodations for a night in an adorable village. Casual restaurant downstairs with good food.

It was fun to stay in such an historic place. We had one issue and it really colored our experience. The power went out in the main floor coffee/gathering room. In order to get coffee or tea, we had to carry water up to the 2nd floor. On the way down, we had an accident and spilled coffee. There was no one around, so we used a white hand towel in our room so that no one would fall. We received a rather nasty note that we would be expected to pay for the towel. We paid, but wow - we felt that was out of line considering everything.

It was comfortable and welcoming. A wonderful long second floor balcony offered cozy tables and a hammock in this historic building. Very quiet at night and an easy walking distance of places to eat, bookstore, walking trail and the beach. We would happily stay there again.

Convenient for sightseeing, especially if you are a Louise Penny fan. Friendly staff. Could use an outlet plug-in that has a USB port for charging electronics.

Enjoyed our stay.

Nice small old auberge in the Knowlton area.
The room is good size with rustic furniture and clean and comfortable.

Old fashioned inn comforting for the soul

Overall this is a great spot to stay. Very convenient having a decent restaurant and bar right downstairs. Staff were great and it has everything you need. It’s not a modern building but that’s part of its charm. Rooms were clean and well appointed. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We liked the environnement. A very cute little town !
4.4
It met expectations for budget-friendly options, and the central location can't be beat. The walls are thin / you can hear people clearly walking or talking by the door or using the common kitchen if you have a room by there. Bed comfortable enough and has good character. The bath tub caulking was a bit moldy but, overall, the stay was decent and staff friendly.

Place is cozy, cute, and clean and the location is great. The noise from the restaurant downstairs is definitely an issue. There was a drunk man speaking boisterously with his friends for 2 hours after the restaurant closed at 9 pm. It sounded like he was standing at my door yelling for two hours and there was no one at the reception after 6pm to contact. I thought the staff downstairs could have been more mindful that there were a few of us staying at the auberge upstairs and asked the man to speak at a more reasonable volume (the restaurant and auberge are joined and you have direct access into the dining room from the auberge). Bring ear plugs if you come here. But otherwise a very nice experience.

Auberge Knowlton is quaint and clean but not the place for anyone with physical disabilities.
The adjacent Bistro Le Relais is a great asset. Particularly in wintry conditions.

The cleanest hotel I've stayed in! Front desk were kind and helpful!

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Food was excellent.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would recommend and hope to visit again.

Very rustic and friendly town.

I enjoyed the auberge which helped inspire some of Louise Penny’s Three Pines mysteries. Loved exploring the area.

Love staying at the property. Super clean and friendly staff.
If you have a hard time with stairs you might have some issues

This is a charming rural hotel that is small dog friendly. Great restaurant downstairs, and free Level 2 EV charging around back.
The area is quite affluent, so be prepared for inflated price tags in the local chops. Also, there were a lot of loud car yahoos attempting to compensate for their masculine shortcomings.

Nothing special

Our room was comfortable and decorated simply but pleasantly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
We had dinner downstairs. We were slightly disappointed in the food and the service.
4.4
Lovely place to stay. Great people and a wonderfully casual yet good restaruant. One word of warning--the hotel is only on the second floor and there is no elevator.
4.4
It was good place to stay, only wish restaurant was open more ... but was an excellent stay

Very friendly staff all round- housekeeping and front desk and Baxter

Some mostly negatives as follows: 3rd fl steep walkup was a surprise as was the “check in” being on the second floor and no elevator. Old wooden inn with no sprinkler system. Small room, but queen bed was OK, nice bath but large step-over to use shower in the tub. Couldn’t work TV and Roku even though we have own at home but help was provided after we called for help. Nice outdoor terrace but mediocre dinner with worst burnt french fries ever. Would not go back even if we had a comp room but we are an 80 year old couple but normally not so fussy!! You decide.
4.4
Lovely, historic inn. The street noise can be intense in the evening (motorcycles and trucks). We loved the terrasse on the upper level to enjoy coffee and relax. Many interesting shops and restaurants nearby. Many lovely walking trails also. The staff is responsive to needs. No breakfast options seemed to be open while we were there.
4.4
Very friendly people the lady who checked us in waited until we got there, which was after hours and then treated us very well. One thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the restaurant was not open in the morning for any kind of breakfast at all. In fact, no restaurant was open for any kind of breakfast before 9 o’clock and most were open at 11:30. The room was fine simple but just what I needed. They have a great upper balcony for coffee in the morning however, in the summer it is very noisy as it’s right at the main intersection in town and there are a lot of cars going through there.

Loved the porch!! And the flowers...
It was nice to have a room to make coffee and have a snack.

A sweet inn in the center of a sweet town. The staff was extremely friendly, our bed comfortable, and suite #1 provided plenty of room for us - living area, step up to roomy bed area, and bathtub/shower combo in bathroom. The hotel rooms are located on the second and third floors (accessible by stairs). Restaurants within minimum walking distance and one downstairs with outdoor seating.
4.4
Everyone was very nice to us and helpful. Lication is wonderful--could walk to so much.
Elevator sure would be nice. Carrying all our things ip the stairs was not easy.
4.4
Very old building means lots of steep, narrow stairs. Creaky floors. Excellent person at reception. Room was small and bathroom was tiny.
4.4
In the middle of the village for easy access to everything. The owners greeted us in a very friendly manner.

The hotel was very clean and well kept. My father doesn't speak any French and the were very quick to find a staff member who could communicate in English. He really appreciated that. The attached restaurant was excellent. The only problem we had with the noise from the street. We could hear it in the room until quite late. It made it hard to relax and get to sleep. Otherwise, it was a great stay.
