Clean Warm and comfy rooms

The Team here are very welcoming - always an “extra mile” for reviews. Dinner was lovely and the room splendid. No bog standard coffee machine here but a jar of rich ground brew and a cafetière for two. No long life milk pods but Properly fresh creamy milk in the fridge. Lots of blankets, good bed linen and powerful hot shower. Nothing fell off or apart - often a standard feature of a pub hotel. The Cowdray has been beautifully fitted out with good solid stuff. Very happy! Thank you Team Cowdray.

Very comfortable and delightful Staff. Good pub food and atmosphere. Because room is on a main road there was road traffic noise.

We stayed for one night before flying from Gatwick the next day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating; they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a great place to stay, fantastic service from check in to check out. We will definitely be staying here again on another trip to England. Food was fabulous and we would be happy to recommend this hotel to any travelers.

Very accommodating as we had a very late check-in time after being at a nearby wedding. Very quiet, well presented, clean. Great shower, all very warm and inviting. Everything there that you need. The most comfortable bed I've slept in since staying at the Bellagio in Las Vegas in 2012! Can highly recommend!

Really lovely accommodation, very friendly accommodating staff, delicious breakfast. We would highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again. My only 1 teeny suggestion would be to put a shelf near the sink in the stables room, as there was nowhere close to put your wash bag. Otherwise no complaints at all.

This is a little gem of a place to stay. The room was really nice. And great food and beer at the pub. The team were great - really helpful and friendly. Will be staying again soon.

Great stay! Property has three rooms but is better known for the restaurant. Great food, beer on tap, and indoor and outdoor seating. Room was spacious and clean. No air conditioning but that doesn’t matter most of the year. Staff was super accommodating and pleasant. Mobile service is spotty but free Wi-Fi was great. Would recommend!!

All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Had such a nice stay. The room is a good size, quiet, and there are lots of things to explore nearby. We had dinner at the pub and it was really good.

The property had ample parking spaces. We had an evening meal which was lovely, the food was quick and delicious.

A traditional English pub with an excellent restaurant and very comfortable separate accommodation block. A well run operation with delightful staff. Although situated on a fairly busy road the traffic noise was not intrusive and in no way affected a very comfortable and enjoyable two night stay.

Excellent stay in this lively pub / stable block style hotel room. Nice flowers and beer garden also exist. There is some traffic noise but it won’t affect the main lights sleep as I only heard it in the morning when the country Lane traffic become busier.

Forget staying at some characterless airport hotel - stay in this is a sweet hip pub very close to Gatwick. Very nice decor, great detail, nice staff and excellent breakfast.

Unfortunately had to move for last two nights because room was only available for half my working week. I may have saved money on my last couple of nights but ill quote ' you get what you pay for'The caesar salad was absolutely excellent (even had it on the second night)2nd hotel ive added 4oz steak for £3 and ive still not had half what i had here.Would definitely use again

My stay was brief and I arrived after the kitchen had closed so wasn't able to check out the food. However, the continental breakfast was pretty good. The room was very nice, the bed extremely comfortable and the room clean. Would recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Lovely stop over on route to Gatwick. One huge disappointment was arriving Sunday at 4:30 pm to be told that the pub stops serving food at 5 and closes at 7pm. Further, the pub a dead zone for internet and their wifi was hit and miss (which left me missing a very important meeting). Apart from that, staff were friendly. Lovely continental breakfast and additions in the room such as milk and real coffee. Would stay again.

Room was very clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, good menu in the pub and lovely continental breakfast. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great old style stable rooms outside of main pub building make for easy access and a great place to stay. If you need a room that’s way better than most hotels and like a little private cottage this is the place. Great coffee and a cafetière to allow for a brew and fresh milk and bottled water in a great fridge. Pub food also great, you can eat outside the room on the pub garden tables in the sun. Great for staying away with a dog.
