Really enjoyed my stay during the holiday markets in 2024. The location is great, just a block off the square and relatively low levels of sound from outside at night. The bathrooms had heated floors, and a great shower (both pressure and heat). Additionally, the rooms were all hypo allergenic (no down). The worst is that the beds are firm (I prefer soft) but not so hard that it was impossible to sleep. Due to the holidays markets, the center of town has few roads open for cabs (which are also relatively infrequent) and the public subway does not go there so make sure you are comfortable with walking 10 minutes to get places. I am a fast walker and made it to the hotel from the main train station in under 15 minutes rolling my luggage.

Although they literally made me wait on the first day till exactly 3PM to check in the staff was truly amazing and friendly. You can’t get a better location in the whole city. Anything you want is an easy walk, along with lots of dining options and shopping. It truly was a great place to stay. And BERY clean.

We stayed at the Karl August Hotel based on location and modern facilities but we’re disappointed. We got 2 rooms and the rooms are extremely small and the air conditioning did not work at all. We got a poor nights sleep as our rooms were hot! If you’re looking for a hotel with A/C please look elsewhere.

We had a great stay in Nurnberg (Nuremberg) - the hotel felt new and nice. The breakfasts are awesome! Location is outstanding - right in the heart of the historic downtown.

I only had a short stay, but the hotel was perfect for my needs. Nice atmosphere and very comfortable bed. The reception staff were amazing: very friendly and accommodating to a non-German speaker. The coffee and croissant at the café were delicious! Can't speak highly enough!

Overall this was the best choice for us. This hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. In the heart of the city and it is very clean. There was no dust anywhere in the room. Not sure how this is not a 5 star hotel.

We stayed at Karl August just before Christmas. The location to the Christmas markets was phenomenal! The hotel is also centrally located to many of the sites in Nuremberg. We loved the location. The rooms were well-equipped and beds were very comfy. The pool and spa is a must-visit! A great way to relax after a long day of travelling.

We absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely be back if we are ever in the area. However, I suggest not purchasing the breakfast. It was very over priced and the service was very slow even by European standards. There are plenty of other alternatives conveniently located near the hotel – one being the cafe connected to it.

Beautiful, trendy hotel in the perfect location. Everything we needed was provided. The only disappointment was that the indoor pool was not heated. After walking the Kriskindle markt all day, we were looking forward to a soak in comfortable temperature. However, it was cold and we could only tolerate for a few minutes. But watching the sun set from the the pool area was splendid! The location was perfect for the Markt, as we would go out, shop, drink Glüwein, and go back to the hotel to for a rest and to drop our goods.

The location on this property is excellent, literally less than a block to the Christmas Market and old town shopping. Also, it was very clean. The parking is close but a little hard to get to when the streets are closed for the market, and our front desk person couldn’t tell us how to get there. She just gave us the name of the garage. But, Waze didn’t account for the closures so basically we just circled for several blocks in heavy foot traffic until we found the entrance. Frustrating. No mini fridge in the room, and the hotel does not have land line access so there are no phones in the rooms to reach the front desk. For what we paid, we felt the hotel was a little lacking in basic amenities. The on site coffee shop is nice.

Spectacular location for accessing the Christmas markets. Everything in walkable distance. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. The neighborhood is quiet. I would love to stay at this property again.

The train for the city went on strike…. Making us delayed over 7 hours. We called the hotel for help( a shuttle??? an idea???? Nothing. That little oversight added 600 US dollars to the trip. No room service and a lot of attitude.

Absolutely horrible front desk service. Was harrassed by staff that wouldn't believe I was a guest there, even after I explained I was. Followed around and embarrassed even though I was a guest.

Excellent location for Christmas market. The hotel is located at the entrance to the large market and the square.

Hotel is in a perfect location. Restaurant/bar service was excellent! Our room was on the 4th floor and the concrete angled wall was awkward. My husband and I are tall and ran into it often. Otherwise the room was great!
