The hotel was great…amazingly, because it was reasonably priced, so I was leary. It had been remodeled recently and everything was in good condition. It was clean (even though I always do my own little cleaning when I first arrive because I’m a clean freak😊). They had LVP flooring in the room, so no nasty carpet, a nice shower, the bathroom had 4 outlets at the sink, a night light, hair dryer and plenty of towels.
The people running this hotel were amazing and very friendly; Chaz greeted us and made sure we had what we needed when we arrived rather late. The next morning during breakfast, Joan was cleaning things up as soon as there was a spill and making sure there was plenty of food. She was smiling and pleasant to everyone. I couldn’t believe the breakfast items they offered and everything I had tasted great (almost instantly made, hot pancakes, great tasting sausage, real orange juice). They also had bagels, english muffins, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, cereal and yogurt, plus more. Seriously, you could eat a real breakfast here.
We purposely asked for a top floor room so there wouldn’t be any noise from above, so it was quiet. I have one complaint that is common in many hotels…they use room deodorizers that have an overwhelming smell. The windows didn’t open so we couldn’t air out the room. I found that bothersome and it made it difficult for me to fall asleep.
I’m pretty picky about where I stay and I would definitely stay here again.

It was AWFUL! The GM kicked us out and harassed us because my elderly mother fell asleep for a few minutes on the furniture in the GUEST area.

The rooms are nice and clean. The location is in a quiet area. The front desk staff was not trained well, especially to be working alone.

Worst start here . Top cover has black spots on it , the person above our room stomped around half the night , there was some yelling and arguing , the bodywash in the shower was empty

Newer hotel with a nice lobby and workout center for the size of the hotel. It was a great location while visiting Grace College. We would stay again. Staff was friendly & helpful.

Comfortable, clean, neat hotel. Starting to show a little wear and tear. Had natural gas smell in our room and staff moved us. Our door kept getting stuck. Not a bad stay and breakfast was ok. Will stay here again.

Hotel was clean and appeared to be new, although our bathroom door had rust all over the hinges and squeaked in the middle of the night when you opened and closed it. When we checked in, we must have interrupted the employee from smoking pot, because the stink was all over him. I'm sure the design and layout of the rooms are some corporate branding design thing, but lights are in weird places, the closet has no walls and the only furniture was a bench on the opposite wall. Downstairs they had board games and a pool table, which looked fun but didn't get a chance to try out. Breakfast was awful and limited choices compared to other chains. We only stayed here because they took pets but we might try some of the other options around Winona Lake next time.

Nice hotel, good gym if you work out. TV's have issues with the remote and guide. Day staff is friendly and helpful. Night staff, same guy during my stay, doesn't talk... I always greet people when walking in, no response just a look. Getting ice forgot the room key, went to the desk, no one was there. rang the bell twice, called out, even went outside to look around, no one was in front? thought maybe in the bathroom, after about 5 minutes he came walking in, not even a "hello can I help you" he just gave me a new key and looked away, I did thank him....guy doesn't like his job!

This was my first time staying at Tru by Hilton. My daughter is in college not far away so this was convenient. The staff was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted! The common area with the pool table and snacks, hosted a family/friend game night. We had our own drinks and ordered pizza, a great night in!! Based on this experience, I will definitely stay at this one again and look for one in other places I will travel to in the future! I joined Hilton Honors for my future travels!!

I apologize for being honest as I don’t like to gripe, but when I checked in the remote didn’t work. I got a different one at the front desk which kinda worked. It would turn the tv on and off and let me pick a channel from the guide but nothing else. If I wanted to change the channel, I had to turn the tv off and use the guide to pick a station. That is very aggravating, especially in the evening. And, to make it worse, half the time I could get hear the station but the picture would be black. Other than that, room was clean and comfortable.
