What is disappointing experience, hotels.com and mama shelter really dropped the ball. We were forced to stay in a room that smelled like sewage as the hotel cannot do anything since it was booked through a third-party, as a member I’m very disappointed, and are staying in Lisbon. This hotel is overrated, for example accommodations customer service we have experienced in Europe at other places, considering taking my business elsewhere from Hotels.com as well as they were unable to this plate as being in an unsanitary situation.

It is absolutely lovely little boutique hotel! Loved it. Restaurant and bar was really special. Sunday Brunch was amazing!

Our stay at Mama Shelter Lisboa was largely positive. They warmly welcomed our French Bulldog, Finley, providing food and water bowls in the room.
The hotel's central location is excellent, just 3 minutes from Rato metro station. The rooftop area is a highlight, offering a cool, authentic atmosphere. We enjoyed the ground floor foosball table, though the rooftop one lacked a ball.
Staff were friendly and professional, even helping with a pre-arrival jacket order. The on-site restaurant has a great vibe. While the lobby gets noisy at night, rooms are well-insulated.
Areas for improvement:
1. Air conditioning in room 401 was extremely loud for the first 10-15 minutes. This was reported but not addressed.
2. With only two elevators, wait times were often long.
3. The missing foosball ball on the rooftop wasn't replaced despite our request.
Despite these minor issues, Mama Shelter Lisboa shows great potential. If they address these points, they could easily become a 10/10 establishment.
The location is fantastic, and we appreciated the pet-friendly approach. The staff's kindness and the overall atmosphere were definite plusses. While the elevator situation and the unresolved AC noise were disappointing, they didn't significantly detract from our stay.
We're rating our experience 8/10, seeing room for improvement but still highly recommending the hotel, especially for pet owners. We hope this constructive feedback helps Mama Shelter Lisboa reach its full potential.

Very conveniently located hotel. Fun stay: roof top bar and the restaurant with DJ nights were a bonus. Nicely decorated and fun place.

Located in a lovely neighborhood and close by metro connection to Airport. Decoration and design are vibrant and young. Staff is extremely nice. Breakfast was really disappointing vs what I am used to from other locations in France in Luxembourg. Also room can be a bit noisy since the hotel is located next to busy street. Will not necessarily stay here again when visiting Lisbon.

The restaurant on the first floor is so bomb!!! Everything at the hotel is so cute and aesthetically pleasing. Rooms are veryyyy clean and cozy. Would def stay again. Just wished they had a pool.

I loved the vibe of this spot. The rooftop and main floor restaurant are both enjoyable and full of life. Too bad hotel guests don’t receive a small discount.
I stayed in the “cozy” room and found it had plenty of space- I had a couple issues with the windows and shower head but they were handled adequately.

This boutique hotel was quaint, quirky and full of energy. The hotel had a beautiful rooftop that bought in a fun crowd nightly to enjoy both the view and the drinks. The restaurant in the lobby was alive with an attentive staff and upbeat musical entertainment.
The room was one of their smaller rooms that had the bare minimum (not even a luggage rack) however it was both clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was knowledgeable and friendly often giving suggestions of things to do within walking distance.
I would stay here again but in larger room next time

Nice roof top, okay rooms. Lower score as it is the first place I have stayed where shampoo is not included. Who brings shampoo to a hotel? For that price it just seems cheap and unnecessary

We stayed here for about 8 nights, and had an excellent experience! Between the great customer service, aesthetics, comfort, food, and location, would recommend to all.
- The aesthetics inside were lovely, and food was great.
- Had a very nice rooftop bar and outside seating out front, offering a variety of options when needing to relax or waiting for things to open in the morning.
- Bedroom/bedding was incredibly comfortable
- The stand out of everything though was the excellent customer service. The people there were wonderful, and made our experience excellent. Big shout out and thanks to a few; Ana, Cláudio, Joel, and Sergio! They made a good visit great with positive and thoughtful customer service/interactions.

Located near a couple of metro stations, the hotel is great. It's very nice inside and the rooms are lovely (and a pretty standard size for Europe). It's also very quiet.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Mama Shelter Lisboa, we loved everything about it! The hotel is cool and funky, the staff are lovely and the pizzas in the restaurant are amazing. We had a small Mama and it was plenty big enough for us, it was clean and quiet. The location is near to Rato station, a very easy 5 min walk. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

This property is obviously a work of love; quirky, fun, lean and staff is amazing! Food fantastic in restaurant. 3 blocks away from Ho/Ho bus terminal. It is a bit off the beaten path but great! Checkin and checkout was efficient. Would definitely visit again!

The staff at Mama Shelter were really great. Warm, welcoming and accommodating! They even helped us out when we had brought the wrong plug adapters. The Mama Medium rooms were great, big and comfortable. Only thing I’d say was the air con was a tad noisy and the door to the toilet was very thin and not very “sound proof” so you have to be very comfortable with who you’re sharing with! The roof top bar was our main highlight! I wish my garden could look like that.
