This is our third stay at this location, the rooms are excellent, and the employees are friendly.

The rooms and lobby were very clean. There was abundant parking and conveniently located to the town of Houghton, MI. What surprised me was that it had no elevator. It didn't bother us at all because we are still very ambulatory. I suppose that the elderly would be placed on the lower floor, but that limits the capacity for some.

The staff were really friendly and attentive. I also only paid about $133 per night for this property (somehow booking in advance) which made it an even better experience. Having a full kitchen and separate bedroom was great!

Thus was such a treat after where we stayed the night before lol The room was large,clean, kitchen area, comfy bed . Very comfortable !!

Clean. Spacious. Comfortable. Stayed two nights while dropping daughter off at Tech. Conveniently locate off the back roads to the college. Great restaurant next door. Will absolutely stay here again our next time up.

Spacious and tidy rooms.

Excellent place among many: good value amid hotel row. Clean, comfortable, usual amenities. Having to download app (96mb!?) for room key is annoying bc I still had to go to desk to check in and out. Easy drive to all local sights.

First time staying for MTU move in weekend. Friendly staff, clean, and close to campus. Also appreciated the quick breakfast snack items in the lobby.

The rooms were very large/spacious. The check in was easy. And the restaurant was across the parking lot. Really couldn't have asked for much more.

We love this newer hotel. Very clean. Has most everything you need. Comfortable beds. Only dislike is no elevator.

It was great to have so much room: full kitchen area, living area, bedroom, and large bathroom. Everything was so new, even though I think the hotel was a few years old. Our 4-day stay was great! I would stay again if I was in the area.

Very new & nice - our room was great with the 2 rooms, bedroom and living area. Works great for more space! Disappointed there was no elevator, or complimentary breakfast...

Very clean and friendly..

A newly built hotel. Clean, spacious and comfortable. No elevator so it was a pain to carry suitcases up to second floor. Gave only 2 stars because we had to checkout a day early and pay for third day in spite of trying to modify reservation on Hotels.com before the two day cancellation policy and tried calling hotel directly to modify reservation. The room rate increased drastically so changing to two nights instead of three would result in a higher cost so we just paid for our original three night reservation. Don’t understand why we couldn’t just eliminate one day without canceling whole reservation and rebooking at higher rate. Not sure if this was Hotels.com or Independence Stay’s cancellation policy but manager was no help even though this was a “pay at property” not a prepaid reservation.

The room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. It was perfect for our sever night stay in the area. All our encounters with the staff were excellent. This is appears to be a relatively new property and was in exquisite shape. It was an excellent value for the area. It is located in the main retail area of the city witin a 5 to 10 minute drive (or closer) to most dining options. On the negative side, just be aware there is no elevator for this 2 story property and the grab and go breakfast options are very, very limited. I would recommend Roy's Pasteries on the riverfront downtown for some of the most delicious treats I've tasted. Overall, I would highly recommend this property. It was a great value and very restful stay in a beautiful area.

This hotel had a new feel to it. Everything was clean. Room was spacious with a refrigerator, microwave, hot plate type stove, etc. Bathroom was big with a lot of area to put your toiletries and curling wands, etc. Could not hear anyone else in nearby rooms with the exception of hotel doors closing. There is a washer and dryer down the hall. They do provide breakfast bars but breakfast is not included. I was ok with that as i was spending $150 less a night than my friends at the Hampton. The bed was super comfortable too. The only problem i had was preregistering for the room so i had to go through the registration desk when i arrived. Service is spotty in the U.P. I will stay there again when in the area.

Large spacious room with kitchen. Bathroom was spacious as well. Very clean and appeared to be brand new. Great room for the price! Friendly staff.

Disappointed that maid service provided every third day.

The property has beautiful rooms!! No pool. The breakfast consisted of nutri grain bars and small donuts pre wrapped from Walmart!!!! Very disappointing!!!

Our suite was clean and large enough for 4 adults.

Room was nice. Kitchen was very nice.

The hotel was reasonably clean. The pastries offered for breakfast were of the Little Debbie variety. Think mini doughnuts and muffins. There was no daily housekeeping, which surprised me. If you needed towels or t.p. you had ask at the front desk.
