The hotel is in an excellent location , great price for the location, but the price did not match the stay. The hotel is out dated. The hotel has a weird old smell, same as the room, it looks clean over all but when you really look it’s not. There was dirt in the corners which I didn’t see until very late, the mini fridge didn’t keep things cold overnight again didn’t notice until we were leaving, and the mattress were ripped underneath when I checked for bedbugs, again it was late when I checked everything and we just wanted to go to bed as we needed to be up and out early. The breakfast cereal was stale and the coffee was horrible. The shower was not accommodate anyone over 6ft. My husband had to bend over to wash his hair.

It was a perfect place to stop for the night. Close to town. Frat houses right in front of the hotel but had no issues with it. Breakfast was basic but everything was clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice.

We have been coming to this hotel once or twice a summer for 25 years. Its a great location on the water and close enough for us to walk to the restaurants and breweries downtown. As a kid I loved the pool, and now my kids enjoy it while I sit in the hot tub. The breakfast always has a good selection especially with the waffle station.

Kind of hidden away small sign on the road pointing where to turn, staff was friendly on checking in, no elevator available for 2nd floor rooms.

I was pleasantly surprised by this property. From the wonderful employees, a ground floor room(since my sister and I are older-no elevator), and a lakeside room. There was a walking path right at the hotel along the water, which we took advantage of. Also, the hours for breakfast was great, so we didn’t have to rush. It was very clean.

nice place to stay not the newest and no place to park motorcycles in case there is a storm. But nice enough place. Had a dead animal nearby rotting that was unpleasant but overall a good experience. Staff was friendly, knowledgable and helpful when we checked in.

We did a trip to the UP and stayed in five hotels and this one was by far the absolute best! I highly recommend! Friendly staff, clean rooms and over all a clean and organized hotel, a continental breakfast, clean pool, hot tub, and sauna, beautiful walking paths right by the river.

Older building but very well kept. Newer stuff inside. Great air conditioner, pool, bathroom, and the guest laundry is really nice! $5 to do a load in new washer and dryers. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

I love staying at this facility when in Houghton. The rooms are clean and adequate, the pool and hot tub are really nice ...but, the location is the seller!! ...It is beautifully located on the riverwalk. This provides stunning views and a wonderful oportunity to easily and beautifully walk to town or Michigan Tech campus!! Can't wait to go again!!
