Beach, Spa, design and quiet atmosphere

It was clean, the food was excellent, the location was good and the cleaning staff were very nice ..

The staff were inflexible regarding some of their customer requests .. the beach was nice but didn’t provide showering facilities when leaving the beach and umbrella allocation was rigid not allowing customers to use sun beds and umbrellas although nobody was using them.

What a let down! Upon arrival to the hotel we were told we had a ‘standard’ room and therefore were not entitled to any of the spa facilities - this was not made clear before staying. The check in staff proceeded to list all of the ‘rules’ and things we were not entitled to. We also only found out on arrival that the beach is a 15 minute shuttle away, I presume that is buried in the fine print somewhere. The room was dirty especially the shower/bath mirror and the water pressure on the shower was weak. This is a 3.5 star hotel at best. I wish we had heeded All the other negative reviews. Had we of known in advance we would never have stayed here.

We had an exceptional stay at this hotel. We stayed for one night in the superior room which includes an aqua tonic path each day, Turkish bath, sauna and the outdoor pool. We went for the regular full board which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as water at all times. The variety and quality of the food was extraordinary, the staff is really attentive and professional and the spa area is really nice and clean. The rooms were great with comfortable beds and a balcony. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Lovely beach with free shuttle down. Dinner was included on full board and was generally ok. The gym was excellent and the room a good size with a nice view.

Service could have been a bit more personal, and the hotel itself is located in quite an isolated spot for day trips.

We had an incident during our stay at Kalidria hotel and spa. Our 7 years old child got a pretty big tear on the heel of his left foot in one of the pools of the hotel . The child was forced not to set foot on the ground and not to enter in the water for 5 days. Think for a moment that our vacations were ruined... The behavior of the hotel left a lot to be desired.. it is their duty to ensure the safety of the customer.. the indifference was very visible..

The property is amazing. Few minutes away from a beach, that is a heaven, continuously connected by the transportation provided. The beach is furnished with umbrellas and sunbeds, that are allocated to each room. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner had great variety and very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Amazing a clean rooms. Only regret is the too short stay, will be back for longer!

Not really all inclusive. Rules rather confusing around what counts as part of the package and what doesn’t.

Only one staff that tried to help us (Nunzia) and only one to speak English. The fitness and trainer are also great. But the rest is really, really bad...

Really bad service, Spa is really really old and basic (only pool + 2 sauna's...), there is leaking water everywhere (dinner/lunch areas, spa areas, reception area), we had all-inclusive but had to pay for everything (cap for swimming €2, bottles of water (because only glasses of water are incl), use of the spa €44,- extra (and then we weren't allowed to go in the pool, because then you have to pay even more). We have travelled in total more than 5 weeks in Italy and this was the worst hotel we had (and also one of the most expensive ones). I'm still waiting for my refund for one day earlier leave and I forgot my ipad - hopefully we will find a solution for this.

Excellent lunch buffet and dinner menu. The beach was very well maintained and private. Beach train always on time and enough seats. Good gym equipment. Very friendly staff

Probably goes more into direction of neighbouring village: equipment for tennis and football was worn out. All Spa facilities are extra and appear rather pricey

the beach is a shuttle ride away and is a beautiful, clean, sandy beach. Hotel room is a good size and clean. Excellent buffet breakfast with lots to choose from.

You have to wear a shower cap to go into the swimming pool. They do not inform you of this until you try to get in. Reception have swimming caps you can buy but most people used their shower cap from hotel room. Not a very glamorous look! The hotel is advertised and named as a spa hotel, yet you have to pay extra to use indoor swimming pool and sauna (60 euros). It is already quite costly to stay there and the weather was bad when we stayed so we had nothing to do unless we paid more but to use the gym.

Very good breakfast. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Very nice structure. The presence of the greenery makes it pleasing to the eyes. The beach is lovely.

Slow service at the tables at lunch and dinner time. The 35 euro dinner in the next hotel was a scam. Too much money for a pizza and a salad. The rooms soundproofing could be better.

Stayed in a very comfortable and spacious suite. Quality of food in main outdoor restaurant was excellent. Beautiful private beach.

Limited food options outside formal meal times. Payment card system for use in other Ethra Reserve restaurants/bars is a great idea, but doesn't work so well.

The staff were not at all friendly. The room was the furthest away right next to the laundry which woke us up in the morning with the tumble dryer working. The outdoor area had lots of weeds growing amongst the stones and we had to ask for them to bring some furniture so we could sit out there. At dinner the waiters were rushing here and there and when we finally got served, the waiter was not engaging with us at all. He was looking around to see where he had to go to next. The large feature ponds were all empty and the pool area was average. We booked this property thinking it was a 5 star resort but it would be no higher than a 3 star. We decided we did not want to stay 2 nights and both the receiptionist, the manager and the booking manager were very rude to us and not wanting to release us from the 2nd night. At the time of writing this we still have not heard if they have agreed to refund us 1 of the 2 nights we had booked. We ended up driving about an hour to Matera which was well worth the trip as we loved this little Stone village and the Aquatio Cave Hotel where we stayed was exceptional. Highly recommend this hotel.
