Super comfortable beds right near the Capitol and attached to the Dubliner. A very nice place to stay in the heart of D.C.

It was my wife's first time visiting Washington DC. I've stayed at the Pheonix Park a few times before. She loved out stay.

A wonderful old hotel, but in very good condition.

Perfect location and very friendly staff. All was very clean, room size was accurate for travellers needs. Metro station within 5 minutes walk, but all maint points of interest are accessible by 30 minutes walk through nice area. If I will be back in Washington DC I will use it again.

Excellent hotel, great staff, great location, free coffee on the second floor. I will definitely stay here again!

I’ve loved the The Phoenix for decades but hadn’t been there in 10 years since I’d moved out of the area. I was delighted by the refresh - decor is lovely, beds were wonderful and really loved the 2nd floor coffee/tea lounge. Perfection — Can’t wait to return.

Great location by train station and the Dubliner! Use the earplugs they provide! Be inside after dark.

The room was comfortable and spacious. It was located close to public transit and quick walk to the mall. We liked the coffee lounge and having a restaurant in the building. The downside was the walls were very thin and we could hear the people talking next door and it was hard to sleep until they stopped.

Hotel itself and room were very nice and clean. The service was exceptionally great, from the front desk to the restaurant located inside (the food was pretty good as well). The only negative was the inside parking was extremely expensive, but to be honest, pretty normal for D.C.. We made the decision to use the garage around the corner that was a fraction of the cost and the walk was negligible. An overall great stay.

Good quality hotel. Convenient to DC and transportation. Area around the hotel is a bit sketch because it is so close to Union Station. But overall it was fine.

Me and my husband had an amazing time in Dc, the hotel staff was very friendly, our room was clean. We will definitely be coming back here.

Second stay at this property. Excellent renovation. Rooms and bathrooms very clean and updated. Bed was very comfy. All types of coffees available on 2nd floor. No coffee in room but I liked having my coffee already made on floor 2. This hotel is right near Union Station (food court) and the Capitol. Easy walk to all museums and monuments. Excellent location. No need to rent a car if you are flying in. Just take taxi or Uber to hotel and walk everywhere or ride the metro.

This was an excellent hotel choice for our visit to the DC area to attend the Commander’s football game. It is in a safe location and an easy commute to Landover, MD. We will definitely stay again when we return!

Location is great.
Hop on Hop off bus and plenty of fast food choices across the street at the Union Station. Self parking is one block away.
A bit of traffic noise during rush hour to late evening, they provided ear plugs- never seen that before at any places we have stayed at.
There was a cleanliness issue but they immediately addressed it as soon as went downstairs to tell the front desk.
Jerry at the concierge was very helpful and friendly.

The staff was all friendly(minus the one employee that let the storage doors slam shut each time he was in there)The top of our bed had a ledge and it was dusty, and the room was smaller than I thought it was to be. It was really cool being able to see the capital right outside of the building. We had no big issues and valet took care of our car wonderfully. Thank you!

The staff was very nice. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. I will be back. The only downside is there were no vending machines for water. Thet had bottled water in tge room but for $5 which is kinda outrageous.

Very clean and quiet! Had to catch an early train and the proximity to Union Station was a plus. The food at the Dubliner was awesome as well.

Check in was easy and we truly felt like we were welcomed guests. Fifi remembered our phone conversation from the day before our arrival which impressed me. I brought a group of 12 women and special attention was given to locate us on the same floor. The room I shared with 3 other ladies had an issue with the air-conditioner, Juan worked diligently to fix it for us. When he discovered it would take additional work he made sure we were moved to another room and were comfortable there. The hotel was lovely, we couldn't have chosen a better location, all that, together with a warm, cheery welcome, the twelve us highly recommend this as your resting place throughout your stay in Washington DC.

My wife and I booked the Phoenix Park Hotel for two nights 27-29 September. (hotels.com Itinerary # 72926002957452). The total due at the property was $515.51 on the hotels.com booking. However, at checkout they said there was no hotel bill because it was billed to hotels.com. In fact they charged us $639.51. The alarm clock was broken but it woke us up at 6am and continued to ring every 10 minutes. I had to unplug it to stop it. We had the car in the hotel garage for one night, which they said they would not charge us because of the alarm clock problem. They replaced the broken alarm clock with a new one but it still woke us up at 6am the second morning. I was able to switch it off but could not go back to sleep. Hassan Gomaa

Wonderful old hotel, in a great location. The staff was very friendly. The only issue I could see is the size of the elevator. But with an older hotel, I understand that is a challenge.

A very nice hotel at the heart of Washington DC. A free parking opposite the hotel on weekends. Great receptionists and porters

Room, bathroom, common areas all clean and tidy. Day shift front desk and doorman especially helpful and welcoming. Stored our luggage both prior to check in and after checkout. Nice 24 hour coffee/tea area with room to hang out.
Walkable to Smithsonian museums, monuments, restaurants, Union Station, convenient bus access.

Would have liked to have had a desk and a more comfortable reading chair, but everything else was great.

This is our home away from home. We stay here everytime we are in DC, which is 4-5 times a year. This hotel is clean, comfortable, safe, has a great restaurant attached. Perfect rooms. Friendly staff, affordable for the area, close to the metro. We would never stay any where else in the city no matter where we were going in the city on our trip.

Terrible restaurant, hard to get a taxi
4.0 / 10.0
The stay was fine but not as nice as I expected from its overall rating. The mattress was too soft from overuse, I kept sliding to the center of the bed and slept poorly. The bathroom fan was so loud and unpleasant, we couldn’t use it. And when we showered in the morning, the water pressure was terrible. It was clean but it just wasn’t anything special for the amount of money spent.

We just stayed at this hotel for the weekend. This is a hotel within walking distance of the Capitol. Very walkable, and my partner road the city scooters around. The staff was polite, I'm a southern lady so not as friendly as I'm use to but polite. One of the elevators was broken our whole trip. Very inconvenient. The room was clean, but the bathroom had several hairs that I had to clean myself. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we could hear the bar/restaurant patrons drunk right below our windows. Overall nice hotel and stay.

Amazing hotel near Union Station in DC. Great Irish pub in the hotel, the Dubliner.
Two queen sized beds that were so comfortable with lots of fluffy pillows!
