Very nice place to stay during the Christmas season. Wonderful decorations and lights. There isn't a microwave or refrigerator in the room we stayed in #129. Other than that we had a wonderful experience at the hotel and surrounding area.

Couldn't book directly through their website because something was glitchy. Valet was not near entrance due to Festival of Lights, and no accommodation was apparent for mobility impairment, such as a golf cart. Check in line placement was awkward. Room wasn't ready until quite a while after check in time. Had to wait for luggage delivery after we finally got a room. Bathroom was dirty, had rusty items, and chipped paint. Windows were dirty and had lots of bug droppings on the sills. Chairs were dusty. Bottom window latch was not operational. Found an item on the carpet from another guest which makes me assume vacuuming wasn't done well. Sheets had stains. No complimentary bottles of water. No regularly expected information regarding hotel ammenities such as room service menu, map of facility or pay tv options was provided. No information about robes and slippers that were provided. Generally didn't feel comfortable due to the overall state of the room.
Liked that the window opened. Liked the pillowcases. Liked the curtains.
TV's in Fitness Center turned on but didn't have any content. Key pad didn't work to change the resistance on exercise bike.
Did not use the spa or pool.
Presidential Lounge and Las Campanas were okay with friendly service.

Beautiful Hotel! Went for the Christmas lights and decorations. Took a self tour of the hotel, 4th floor was amazing. The self parking was very expensive. Our room was lovely, but it was very noisy. It sounded like something on rollers was on the floor above us. It happened several times when we were sleeping and about 6 am.

Absolutely loved our stay and we were delighted to see the hotel decked out in Christmas decorations. It was a pleasant surprise and so festive. We stayed one night after a show at the Fox Theater. It was perfect to walk a block from the hotel to the theater. The area around the hotel was full of fun shops, restaurants and coffee places. Will definately go back!

The Staff at the Mission Inn are very pleasant and friendly. What I observed was the patience they demonstrated with the guest who were dissatisfied with their hotel room. Some of the rooms need to be updated, specifically the bathrooms and some of the furniture in the rooms. Their staff should not have to take the heat (blame) for this as I have witnessed myself every time I have stayed. The Mission Inn exterior is lovely including their lobby. What is totally ridiculous is that they place an additional $100.00 a night charge on your credit card. How they manage to get away with this is beyond my comprehension. I travel a lot for work as well as pleasure and have never been charged the extra amount per night which you then have to wait almost a week before it is credited back to your credit card. I give the staff a 10, The rooms 7/12, restaurants and bar 81/2 and policies a 1.

Horrible and they charged me a 3k fine when there was no signs to not smoke. Horrible do not rwcommend and coding violations with a screw sticking out of a post at valet . Charhed me for a bight i didnt stay and did not refund me .

Great atmosphere and quite a vast amount of shops around. My only dislike was that it was so annoying to hear the footsteps of whoever was staying upstairs. Also every time a door would open and or close from the other roooms the noise would travel to my room making it quite tedious.

Only spent one night. The hotel is beautiful and a great location. Our room was very roomy and the beds super comfortable.

The hotel itself was amazing, took lots of pictures, the bed was comfortable and there were plenty of things to do right outside of the place however the only reason why I couldn’t give a full star review is because there was not enough front desk staff. I was waiting for the line at check in to clear for about 20 minutes and then front desk people were unable to answer my questions about self parking in the parking garage.
The whole thing was a long confusing mess that had me walking back of forth from the garage to the front desk a few times.
Generally they just need more front desk people.

I love this hotel so much that little could keep me from giving it 5-stars--which I have across the board.
However, 2 issues--one within their control and one, maybe not.
I booked this reservation on a third party site the day prior, but they did not have it when I arrived (even though I showed my confirmation #). I was informed there was a computer glitch--which would also explain the long delay to check in the guest before me.
When it was my turn, having already waited an inordinate amount of time, I mentioned that we were in a hurry to make a concert.
While the clerk was congenial, I did not get a sense of urgency on her part...especially when she then asked me to wait 15 minutes for them to fix the glitch.
That really disappointed me, and I reiterated we didn't have time to wait and please just get me into a room and let them sort it out later.
She checked with a supervisor, and finally we got into our room. But as a result we got the concert 30 mins late-- which was the thirty minutes that we had spent dealing with check in. *sigh*
As for the other issue, we had a wonderful meal in the atrium with an outstanding server. However, we got attacked with ankle-biter mosquitoes (as did both adjacent tables). Which is why I put this in the slightly out of their control category. My only rec would be possibly add citronella candles around that help ward them off.
It's unfortunate to bring up the two negatives, because it's STILL my favorite hotel in the whole world.

House keeping could’ve been better no clean towels were left for the second night.

It is an experience staying at this hotel. Great staff. Bathrooms could use some update. Really nice pool and gorgeous grounds, but charging a mandatory resort fee because they offer a gym, and a pool? Not really welcoming. No hot water offered in the room for tea. Only a "Keurig" type coffee machine.

Grounds are beautiful and well landscaped. The room was out dated, bathroom faucet was loose and about to fall off. Drapes had no sheers in the bedroom so when you opened the drapes you were in full view of the street below, no privacy. The windows are all single pane so you could hear all the parties at 3am screaming and the homeless man at 5:30 am. The tub had no drain plug so couldn’t take a bath. There were sewer nats in the bathroom and the window in the shower was almost rotted completely through. In summary the grounds are great, the rooms “Suck” and really need desperate repair and remodeling.

The Mission Inn is a must. It's beautiful not only outside. It's incredible inside the grounds too. It delightful, fun to explore, and excellent dinning, with exceptional service and spacious guest rooms.

Noise, music and yelling started at 7 pm and never stopped till 5 am, I felt unsafe, you can heard voices from other rooms, it was a nightmare for me and my wife, I don’t recommend this hotel for nobody.

The Mission Inn in Riverside, Ca is an extraordinary experience!… the historical tour is a must. The Mission Inn restaurant was very magical — highly recommend eating outside under the lights, as a guest you are pretty much allowed roam through all the environments which is quite a delite. The hotel staff, restaurant staff all wonderful. The only downside… was that requesting room service to clean the room will take time… like 4 hours to get to you. I probably wont have the pork tacos again from their mexican restaurant as it was pretty much tasteless…but… the outdoor patio scene for that restaurant and again the staff superb .. i will stay here again!

This is a bucket list hotel. Very unique for California. Feels like a European castle, but is ingrained in Californian history.

No housekeeping service upon request. No internet in the room. Resort fees and room upgrade fee were not explained to me at check in. There was even a mini bar consumption fee on the bill that they were unable to justify. These guys are not honest.

After requesting a bathrobe from housekeeping twice, we went to the front desk to finally receive one.
The room furnishings were badly arranged creating a choke point in moving around.
The property needs to be spruced up inside the guest rooms.

I love the mission inn for the history and aesthetics however, it missed the mark for me this time. I stayed at the mission in for 3 days. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I arrived for check in at 4:30pm (check in is at 4pm) my room was not ready. I agreed to upgrade to a room on the third floor as I just wanted to relax. I had to pay for this upgrade which I didn’t mind thinking that it would be a Better room and set up; I was wrong. The upgraded room looked like a cheap motel room. I asked for my original room instead (on the first floor) and it was much nicer. I ate at the Mexican restaurant in the hotel, food was okay at best. Don’t expect authentic Mexican food, far from it. The room I stayed in was nice and spacious. The bed was not very comfortable as one side sagged more than the other. The TV was not a smart TV therefore I could not mirror my phone to the tv so it was either watch basic cable or pay $20 per movie. I was really disappointed in their gym. In the hotel description it describes it as “modern fitness center”, again, far from it. it had one lat pull down machine and old dumbbells. The gym itself was very small. The gym was quite dusty and had no AC. There was one bench, 2 treadmills (1 did not function) and 2 stationary bikes. There was a portable AC near the window but it did not help unless you were standing right in front of it. It was really disappointing. The pool was nice however, no pool service as they were low staffed. Will not return.
