Fantastic stay !

What I liked: Location and friendly staff! What I didn’t like: shower was not draining so I had to keep turning the water off while showering. Bathroom was super small with mildew in the shower.

Stayed at Hotel De La Ville for 4 nights with my wife for holiday. The hotel was within walking distance from almost all the tourist attractions in Florence (i.e. the Cathedral, Accademia Gallery, Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo, Pallazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio etc) as well as the train and bus stations (for day trips to Pisa). It is located in a quiet and safe area with pedestrianised street in front and there are a lot of places to eat nearby and high end shopping. Our room was spacious, clean and with excellent housekeeping. The en suite bathroom was modern and clean. Our room had very good air conditioning which is important when visiting at the height of summer. One thing that really stoods out was the excellent breakfast service with a wide array of food on the menu (various breads, poultry and meat products including Italian cold cuts, fruits, coffee and juices, salads, cakes and pastries, cheeses etc) to get you tanked up for the day. Excellent service throughout and staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the hotel.

Ac didn't work

I recently had a wonderful stay at this exceptional hotel and am thrilled to share my experience. Right from the start, the hotel’s dedication to guest satisfaction was evident. The staff reached out before my arrival to confirm my preferences and ensure everything was set for a seamless check-in, which was a lovely touch. The moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism. The location is ideal—conveniently situated near key attractions while maintaining a tranquil atmosphere. The room was a true haven: spacious, meticulously clean, and elegantly furnished. Throughout my stay, every detail was thoughtfully managed, creating an environment of both comfort and sophistication. Whether you're visiting for work or leisure, this hotel offers a perfect blend of style, convenience, and outstanding service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an outstanding experience.

AC didnt work for any of the rooms of my wedding party

Everything was great.

We’ve been to Florence several times and it’s all walkable however the hotel is situated in a prime location for shopping & dinning and away from the main and super busy piazzas. Our room was beautiful and spacious enough for the 3 of us. A very nice breakfast was included which really helps you save time. The hotel is beautiful and smells elegant from the moment you walk in. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the personnel at the front desk that are less than friendly & make you feel as you are bothering them; unfortunately this happened several times with different individuals during the span of the 3 days. The front desk should be inviting. I’d say new customer service training is required.

Nice hotel, great breakfast. Only thing is the A/C didn’t cool the room enough…was quite hot.

The great hospitality of the staff members was very welcoming. Some of the staff members and especially the receptionists did their effort to make the stay as pleasant as possible. My compliments! I had a one person room on the top floor, which had a classical interior, which I do like very much. The view was on a wall of a courtyard, this was not so good, however it was probably more quiet than a view on a street side. There was not that much noise either from the other rooms, so I was happy to be able to relax and rest. The bathroom was very big and had a bath. They offer shampoo etc. The housekeeping came every day and thanks to them the room looked always very clean. There is a mini bar with water bottles (3 euro) but one thing I did miss was a tea /coffee facility in the room, but you could order tea (5 euro) in the lobby cafe. The breakfast was offered till 10.30 and very good, they served at your table tea or coffee (the staff also remembered your preferences) and the buffet offered lots of choice with yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread and delicious cakes! Also the location of the hotel is very practical, near the Duomo and in the city centre. All on walking distance. As a female solo traveler I would recommend this place, it felt as a safe location in a good area.

Good hotel

The Hotel De la Ville in Florence was a lovely hotel for our visit to Florence. It is a beautiful hotel with old world charm yet modernized well. Its location in the historic center was perfect-easy to walk both to historic sites as well as to the Oltrarno. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. The only thing that was unavailable was an iron. The breakfast room was very nice with a great variety of delicious foods and great service. We’d definitely stay here again upon a return trip to Florence.

Highly recommended this place , friendly staff and beautiful rooms

Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel De La Ville. The pictures don’t do the hotel justice. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, the room was clean with 4* service and turn down service in the evening. Breakfast was a great selection of classic Italian continental options. The area surrounding the hotel was calm, but still plenty of people around and felt safe when returning in the evening. Would gladly stay again and recommend to friends. Thank you!

The hotel has a great breakfast, friendly staff, and an amazing location. Additionally, the rooms are very cozy and comfortable. The only point that could be better is the Wi-Fi connection, but it could have been a temporary issue during my stay. Anyway, I strongly recommend Hotel De La Ville for your stay in Florence.

Lovely property. Walkable to places, at the same time quiet due to its location. We stayed 4 nights. Extremely satisfied!

Very good location

We were unexpectedly surprised by the luxury of this hotel! From the electronically controlled window blinds to the plush bathroom towels. The towel warmer was an added bonus! Breakfast was served with actual silverware and deliciously hot and , well, perfect. Perfect place with a perfect price! No complaints!

The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The happy hour was lovely. Staff were professional and friendly.

Perfect location, clean and friendly staff.

The red light on the fire alarm in the room was blinking all night long. I was unable to sleep. It appeared that this was previously an issue, and the hotel only covered it with a piece of white tape, however the light was shining through the tape. When I brought it up to the front desk, the person at the front desk hardly acknowledged it, and didn’t even offer an apology or credit toward the room charges. If this was previously a problem, why didn’t the hotel take this room out of service, and address the problem prior to making the room available for guests.

Nice location, hotel is outdated but staff are very friendly. Housekeeping was very well done. Location close to the designer brand strip i.e Hermes, Giorgio Armani, Gucci etc Would stay here again.

This was a great hotel with lots of things to do and see within walking distance. Only two small negatives. It was was warm (85 F) and the hotel said they were not allowed to turn on the AC until June. Also, there was a beautiful grand piano in the "piano lounge" that nobody played and guests were not allowed to play it either.

We really enjoyed our stay, will definitely come here again.

Our whole experience was exceptional! Thecstaff was friendly, attentive, professional, and happy. The rooms were spacious, updated, and the beds were very comfortable. We includedthe breakfast and the choices were exceptional along with the service. The location was central for everything we wanted tovsee and do. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The A/C didn’t work, the room was too hot.

This is absolutely my go-to hotel in Florence, within easy walking distance of all the historical sights and also perfectly located for just walking around. The only downside, which is minor, is that during peak periods the breakfast area is inadequately sized—the service is great, but sometimes family groups have to wait.

The room and the hallway reeked with cigarette smells. Front desk was dismissive and denied smelling anything. The room was not cleaned properly so there were makeup marks on bedsheets and fingerprints on mirrors, etc. Dissatisfied with the condition and service overall.

What a beautiful hotel!! The location is second to none. The hotel is nestled right in the heart of Florence. The area is very walkable. Within 9 minutes, you can reach Pointe Vecchio or the train station. The room was extremely quiet and spacious. The hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast was spot on. Hotel was spotless and well maintained. Enjoyed happy hour as well. I will be booking here again.

A charming, comfortable hotel. The rooms were clean and inviting. The staff was most welcoming and eager to help. We enjoyed the bar with a real fire. With their Happy Hour, it was a relaxing place after a day sightseeing in the rain. It was quite conveniently located within easy walking distance of restaurants, fashionable shops (Hermes was next door), and the Duomo. We would certainly return.
