The staff was friendly and informative, along with great breakfast and close to beach.

Under renovation very noisy 6 days a week from 9am to 5pm.

The hotel is old but it’s clean and in good shape, it’s close to the beach around 4 blocks, the streets are a bit dirty and with homeless people, it’s close to a pharmacy, good restaurants, overall it’s a good hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel! The service was excellent, location great, very spacious room and clean and comfortable! The only thing that stopped it being 5 stars across the board was renovations, which we were promised would only be during business hours - it was still going on in the adjoining room at 21.45 at night, started at 7.30am! Would def use again though, when the renovations are finished!

The check-in process was seamless. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The check-out process was even faster but best of all, just a short walk to one of the world's greatest beaches.

We arrived at the hotel. We were informed that their system has cancelled our reservation. No explanations provided. Just stated that they could not accommodate us even when reservations was already paid. Refused to offer refund.

Visited Rio for the first time for New Year and my bday and the location of the hotel was perfect. The staff was friendly and always ready to assist!

Run down is an understatement. Upon early arrival, they sent me to the roof pool to use the one broken down restroom on the roof deck without a lock on the door. The lobby had chunks of floor tile missing, and needed a remodel. As a senior traveling alone on NYE weekend, the location felt unsafe. The immediate neighborhood was crowded, shabby, with lots of people sleeping on the street. I returned to the hotel, and decided to find a different location rather than check in. The hotel manager agreed to only charge me for one night of my 3 night stay if I didn’t stay there, they had a lot of people milling around the lobby. I agreed and found a hotel in a safer area. They charged me for the entire three night stay, and Expedia said they refused to credit me for the two nights they agreed to.

Pros: The hotel location is great. The room was clean, and the AC worked great. The breakfast had good variety, but basic / poor quality. Cons: biggest issue is staff. Only one staff speaks English, and that lady at the reception desk is always grumpy and rude. The hotel has outdated rip-off policies. They don’t have iron for cloths, even if you ask for one. Instead, they charge you for ironing services. If you need to store your luggage, they also charge. The lady was arguing with me because I needed to store my luggage for 45 min while I get lunch. Really bad customer service. Not sure I would return to this hotel.

The hotel is dated, but it’s in a nice location. The rooms are spacious. The gym is tiny, but in the 5 days we were there, no one else used it at the same time, so this was fine. The only negative was reception tried to charge us for water which we thought was complimentary, as there was no sign or anything indicating we needed to pay. We told reception we would go back to the room with them so he could show us the sign, he quickly changed his mind. This did leave us with a negative impression after overall a pleasant stay.

Good location. Rooftop terrace and pool are good. Beds weird and the unexpected charge for water was annoying.

The hotel was very nice. Located a few minutes to Copacabana beach. Yhe breakfast was nice also. The pool is so tiny it could be mistaken for kiddies' pool. And the habit of charging for luggage storage is overrated. It should be a complimentary gesture to hold a guest's luggage before check in time. It's not a lot of money, but it looks tacky.

I know this is a 30 yr old hotel but hey u could do something to take off the rust, from the knobs & buttons. I came in with no bulbs ( no lampshade at all) at the bedside reading light( if u are a reader, u need this), shower flooded, toilet button is so old/rusty that the water kept going until I pulled it out. The wifi didn’t work from the morning I wake up until I came back at night , if u are working & has family— u would choose a hotel that has “wifi” services. I bought a SIM card but of course, it’ll give u limited services, too.

The hotel is located in a great location. Great breakfast,close to the beach, restaurants and shopping areas. I think the hotel is value for money and would recommend same for travelers on a budget.. The pool area need an upgrade
