The apartment plus property was really-well assembled. It wasn't clear from the Expedia description that Las Gaviotas has three clusters. Also, only seven apartments face the sea/beach, the images on Expedia are deceiving. Overall, I would give it 4 out of 5 because it was hard to get good amount of natural light from terrace glazing and ventilation from toilet opening. However, the apartment property had enough privacy which was a bonus.

Property is in an excellent position, very nice apartments but 2 of the pools were closed for maintenance and the work being carried out on the seafront spoilt our trip. We should have been advised of this before arrival.

Great location. Had to PAY for internet, even then, that only allowed two devices! My wife and I each have a tablet but I also have an iPod for internet radio which I need to help me sleep.

the only problem is we had a late flight home and we wanted the apartment up until 4pm and they wanted to charge us for an extra night the full asking price ithink if you have a late flight home you should be able to have the room until at least 4pm.

The first room was a so called superior one but it had single glazing and was right under the flight path and also a bit grubby so they moved me to block 8 and the room had an infestation of cockroaches it was really awful!! They were jumping on me!!!! The maintenance guy who en brutally came was shocked ! so I had to move again! It was exhausting the next room had a broken phone so I couldn’t get hold of reception and no hairdryer but was much nicer ! Block 8 is a long way from reception and restaurant . I still have nightmares about all those cockroaches and the hotel never even apologised or gave me anything in way of a sorry they weren’t bothered!!

Disappointed in efficiency/courtesy of receptionist during our stay. No running water during nights/early morning. No working landline phone in bungalow which was reported but undealt with. Cleaner was very helpful and efficient. Very clean bungalow. Internet charge excessive. Safe charge excessive.

We had a lovely stay here. It's a quick journey from the Airport, 5-10 minutes by taxi or bus. The apartments are lovely and clean, a nice clean pool, a very quiet area. The breakfast buffet is of a good quality. There is the noise of the planes as the airport is close, but that's a blessing and a curse if you're after a short stay, being close to the airport reduces those travel times considerably. The windows and doors on the apartment are of a good quality so you won't hear the planes on the inside of the apartment, in fact we slept incredibly well. On the outside, you get used to the planes and it becomes a background noise you get used to, it was at no point offensive .. and I am someone prone to noise irritation. On the downside, the local area is very .. British. Lots of restaurants aimed at tourists, lots and lots of British everything .. which perhaps isn't the worst thing in the world when I'm British myself, but if you're looking for more of a Spanish experience, to indulge in Spanish culture and cuisine, then this perhaps is not the best place for you, and be prepared for smoking, smoking and more smoking. But the bus stop is nearby, and if you're brave enough to hop on and travel to pastures further afield, this really would be a great base for you. Public transport and taxis are cheap. If you're happy to stay by the pool, or on the patio of your apartment, and enjoy the sun, then I'd recommend highly.

Fabulous stay in Matagorda. The Gaviotas bungalows are spacious and have great outdoor space. Half board option worked well for us; we especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had a great choice.

The property is bright and clean if a little dated.Very private quiet complex,next to the promenade and shopping centre. You have to realise that the hot water supply is limited leave 20 minutes between showers! The breakfast was the only meal we took on the complex and choices of fruit,breads and pastries was very good , also freshly cooked omelettes were excellent.The bacon was streaky so needs cooking till crisp not swimming in fat , and only German sausage available. However overall we would return to this complex without hesitation.

Perfect, spacious bungalow in a quiet spot. 5 mins walk to the beach, supermarket and bus stops. Hotel staff were outstanding, kind, helpful, welcoming. Great place.

Would definitely stay again, lovely clean and basic apartments with great pool areas. Breakfast was delicious and with of choice. Close to everything but far enough to relax and not to be in the centre of hustle and bustle. Highly recommended.

The apartment where we’re staying was old needs some updating. Was far from the restaurant and the beach. The staff was nice and helpful. The food was excellent. The water in the heated swimming pool was cold.

Had lovely stay in Gaviotas 4 for one week. Apartment very clean, maid was lovely. Would definitely recommend it. Reception staff very helpful and cheerful. Thanks for lovely stay.

the standard rooms that determine a hotel rating are far below what was shown on the pictures that made us book the apartment .... the accomodation was being double booked for over two weeks and still let new guests arrive without option to change or rebook .... not secure doors , damp accomodation terrible beds, dirty pool surrounded by barriers , reception staff arguing ...guests an added extra it felt like.

Good points: Its a perfect location and beach, shops & bars are just round the corner. Staff is very friendly. Minus points: Being three star, they didn't provide wine glasses in a self catering apartment which was disappointing. Overall: Good place to stay and a very good price.

The hotel is very well allocated. Right along the beach with shopping centers and restaurants and bars close by.

Everything about the hotel was lovely. The only comments I have is that the food in the hotel restaurant was not hot enough. The last four days of our stay we did not have English channels except news. The staff were not able the tell us why? On the date of our check out we wanted to do a late checkout and were told they would let us know and they did not.

Handy to all facilities you would require, used the restaurant which was very clean and a good selection to chose from, staff most attentive just a pity about the poor stock of wine. Would not hesitate to return at some future date.

The bungalow was of a really good size, very clean and very well equipped. We were within 1 minute walk of the pool and a 5 minute walk from the beach. We even walked to the harbour and back one day, it was a long walk but we passed lovely beaches and a good selection of shops. We stopped for lunch at a great restaurant overlooking the harbour. The whole Las Gaviotas site was really clean and we felt very safe there. There was a really good selection of restaurants and the quality of the food was excellent. We came home thoroughly relaxed and with a great tan (holiday was Feb half term). I would recommend this place to couples and families. Hope you enjoy it too.
