Nice and friendly staff, good breakfast

Terrible hotel situated in the mist dangerous part of the city. The bed sheets smell like an ash tray. I stayed one night and booked out the very next day. AVOID if possible!!

Nice hotel... But the mattress are somehow old not very comfortable!

The staff was very nice (and there were a surprising number of them). The courtyard is beautiful and the pool is so so. I liked the bed (firm) but the pillows were pretty bad like someone had cut up a foam mattress into pieces and stuffed them in a cotton sack. We stayed for 4 nights, which is way too long in Asuncion...not much to do. However, the WiFi was really good and we were able to get some work done. Also, the breakfast is decent and you can get a buffet dinner in the hotel for very cheap. The worst thing about the hotel is that there was some sort of party on our third night...maybe a bachelor or bachelorette party? Where were young women and men...but the party didn't start until about 3:30am, when they raucously and apologetically blasted music and drank in the common space (and RIGHT outside our room) until 9:00am. Obviously they woke us up and they refused to be quiet when asked. I said something to the desk clerk and he indicated that he had control over it...? I felt terrible for the cleaning staff because the entire place was trashed by the time we went to breakfast and they were cleaning it up (while the party was still going on BTW). If you're concerned about safety at all, don't be. There is an armed guard outside.

Good conditions, great breakfest, lovely employees

The staff was extremely helpful, including helping with taxis and local areas of interest.The breakfast buffet is very nice. The WIFI works well in some areas of the hotel, but not really in the room I was staying (just had to go down to the lobby to get a better signal, though this could be busy if trying to call). The location is near some areas of concern, but I would recommend Hotel Palmas del Sol for value and a short stay in or near the central district of Asunción.

Excellent location to el Centro and shops & bus lines. Clean basic rooms & excellent breakfast. Good restaurant 4 minutes away

The Hotel Palmas del Sol is a pleasant oasis and a great base if you want to explore the city center. We found the staff very warm and accommodating. The breakfast is good. My only complaint would be that the pillows are the opposite of pillowy. They are so hard. Also, the duvet cover looked like it hadnt been washed in awhile, though the sheets were clean.

We arrived late in the afternoon and check-in was pretty fast. The hotel has a good cost/benefit ratio but the tv in the room is quite small and the image poor. Besides that, the only complaints are the neighbourhood which is quite ugly (it was our first time there so no way of knowing it), and the fact they turn on the AC on maximum during breakfast.

The value of this hotel, with its great buffet breakfast and transport from the airport, cannot be beat. Oscar at the front desk was of great assistance. However, the wifi worked for only one day and their computers functioned for only 2 of the 4 nts of my lodging.

Met my expectations; reasonably quite, very clean, expansive breakfast. Oscar, day time manager, speaks good English. Shuttle from the airport $15 USD.
