A cozy spot close to everything in the Monterey area. Fairly quiet area and it was easy to park.

The motel receptionist is very friendly and accommodating. I got the room I requested. I arrived late and receptionist was there to greet me. I felt safe even though there was another sketchy motel across street who can see me walk to my room on the 2nd floor, I heard cat calls. The motel parking is well lit. I didn't have issues with noise, stayed during Thanksgiving weekend, it was very quiet, but when someone walked by I could hear everything. The inside was clean and comfy, it's a bit outdated, no smells, the floors were new, not carpet. Overall it was a good deal for the area.

Nice spot for an overnight stay. Room was small, but comfortable. In-room coffee maker did not work, but overall nice place. The filtered water dispenser next to the ice machine is a nice touch.

Biggest concern was this location was on one of the busiest streets heading to the beach. Lots of Houseless people wandering around after dark. Didn't have any problems...just be back to your room by sundown. Great food next door at the Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria.

Need to change picture, no chair/table in the front office, Bouganvilla plant removed and state that there’s “No breakfast” available.
BATHROOM….Window ledge filthy, baseboard of the shower room dirty, A/C noisy for 10 seconds whenever it starts up and shower head leaking.

Hotel overall was very good. Help was very friendly. Room seem to be updated recently, which was nice. Excellent television choices. Area around the hotel was a little spotty. But overall very good.

My husband stays here frequently because he appreciates that is is updated and very reasonably priced. To be fair, he had no issues with his stay and would stay again but did admit this was the worst of all the rooms he had ever gotten. I joined him for one night. A noise in the walls, which turned out to be the pipes, woke me up frequently throughout the night. I also felt the bed to be lumpy/springy and, overall, uncomfortable. Everything else was fine. It was clean and conveniently located.

We felt we were in a little dicey neighborhood but felt so safe and cared for as soon as we got to our room. We had trouble with our air conditioner which was immediately resolved. The room was very cleaned and they gave us housekeeping every day.

This is our second time staying here & we like how convenient it is to get to the beach, easy highway access for all your dining/ shopping needs. The rooms are very clean but do need some updating over all it was a pleasant stay and will continue to use this Hotel for a quick beach getaway.

Basic place but very clean and room was renovated. Perfect for one night stay. Less than 15 min to Monterey Wharf. Staff was great. Seemed safe surrounded by car dealerships. Walked across lot to good Italian place for dinner. Better coffee/tea options in room and lobby would’ve been appreciated. No yea in room Keurig. No hoy water in lobby.

Decent motel, nothing notable or standout about the room or service. Floors were creaky, boards were broken at places, shower was leaky and bathroom had moldy corners. Stay here if you don't have any other great option but still want to be close to Monterey.

Everything was to standard. The rooms have been updated and the area is quiet. I made my reservation with Expedia but discovered the day before that the rooms usually run for 150 a night so I overpaid on Expedia which was disappointing. Book directly with this choice

This is my second time staying at the Sand Castle Inn. Both times have been great with no issues. The inside of the rooms are updated, clean, and comfortable. My mother cannot continuously do stairs, and they were able to easily make sure we got a room on the 1sr floor. There’s a big shopping center close by with Target, Costco, HomeGoods, and more. Overall, it’s a decent and acceptable hotel that’s always reasonably priced. We will be returning here when we come back to the area.

This place is much better than I anticipated. I went in with little expectation about quality but just want a cheap night of stay with my family. Clean room, comfortable AC, great lightings, clean bathroom, confortable bed & pillows. They also have microwave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, hair dryer. Plus a common room outside with free ice, paid vending machine for drinks and paid washer & dryer. If I return in the area I’ll definitely consider it again!
