This was basic accommodations with friendly service. The property is dated rough around the edges, but was very competitively priced. It was a pleasant walk to downtown. We would probably stay again but can’t give it high marks aside from value and location.

I boy stayed at this accommodation for about 15 minutes. It was dirty and there were even stains on the ceiling. When I mentioned this to the owner she said they weren’t there even though I have photos.
I left without staying there and lost my two nights accommodation with no refund as it was a non refundable stay. A very distressing and unpleasant experience .

Everything was well set up for what it was doing - and a desk if you needed to work. It was very friendly.

15 minute's walk from the town centre, this old hotel is the kind of budget place a backpacker would enjoy. Most of the amenities are dated, there is certainly no air conditioning (so be wary of that in Summer), and the bathroom is incredibly tiny, so much so that the basin is actually outside the bathroom in the main room. That being said, we had the family room, which had two single beds and a double, so our room was actually really large. You wouldn't get much privacy from whoever you're sharing the room with though, so make sure your well acquainted, as you can't dry off in the bathroom after a shower because of the lack of space and it is rather uncomfortable sitting on the toilet with the door closed given it's literally inches from your face. Consider this like renting a room in someone else's house but with your own private bathroom.

Room very tired looking. Vinyl flooring felt a bit sticky underfoot. Cobwebs to both corners of the windows. Kettle water not emptied before arrival. Tv remote had lots of ingrained dirt & I cleaned it thoroughly myself before using Shower ok but rain shower attachment dripped pink algae blobs due to not being cleaned properly. Bed mattress very soft but comfortable. Headboard very stained. Room was quiet. Did not stay for breakfast. Being Cambridge you pay for what you get I suppose.

The owner was so lovely - a great location only 15/20 minutes from the main shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Owner was lovely however....I use Hotels.com about 4 times a week for business and after 10 stays at hotels I receive a free stay complimentary for the sum of the average hotels stayed at -this is usually about £75-£95 worth of complimentary hotel stays twice every six weeks It costs me over £1000 to receive this and I look forwards to using them, feels like a nice little rebate.
My grievance on this particular occasion is that often when in Cambridge, hotels can be difficult to find for an acceptable amount, often some can be £150-£200 each night. On this occasion I accept it was getting near 8pm and I was worn out and had been trying to source a hotel for about 90 mins. What really gets me here is that the first photo to come up is the picture of what looks like a country house manor type hotel and in fact it says property grounds. After searching for so long I admit I didn't go into too much detail and check but on that first impression, and last minute, I thought it ideal, and booked, using my free night which was for the value of £82 but the hotel cost a little of £65. When the confirmation came through I was shocked and dismayed that I then saw what looked like a run down BandB. I understand who it caters for, but the initial photo massively mis-represents Bed clean but uncomfy and bathroom is tiny and a partitioned after thought. Also the floor was wet underneath the lino, not pleasant at all

What I can say. I have stayed in a variety of establishments in Cambridge and none and I mean none have had a breakfast more delicious and filling as this one. Andrew and his wife are very attentive hosts and nothing seems to much trouble.
Really enjoyed my stay.

Good standard for a guest house- very small quirky bathroom - super hot powerful shower
Good beds- lovely friendly helpful staff Andrew was very helpful.
Fresh cooked to order breakfast
Perfect location for visiting uni and town
Superb value for money

I didn’t enjoy it at all. I booked a twin room and paid it prior to arrival, yet on the reception I was asked to pay additional £10, because I wasn’t going to be alone in a twin bedded room.

Cute little place to stay within 15 minute walk into Cambridge centre .

Not in my diary to ever go back.
Room was freezing cold and not worth the money.
However 1 saving feature was that when i could not accept the cold any longer i asked if there was a fan heater available and the owner provided one. Saying " Dont leave it on to long"

Very basic guest house. However, it was clean.
If budget is an issue you could do worse than stay here.
Limited parking at the rear (3 cars). 20 minute walk into Cambridge itself.

Excellent for 1 or 2 nights. Rooms not overly big but sufficient. Shower unit needed a little attention in room 4. Can hear some traffic nearby if window is open.Very friendly host and staff. Excellent breakfast. Good value.

Good location with parking, about 30 minute walk to city centre

It is in a good position, but there is very limited parking . It is very basic and needs a lot of revamping, it wasn’t particularly clean especially the outside area. The ensuite was tiny and again needed repairs. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortably. The staff were friendly but I would not recommend staying here

My room was in the yard, not in the main building, A little bit cold during the winter night. The next morning, breakfast was served started from 8:00, and I arrived at 7:50, the staff showed with dark face, not very friendly.

Comfortable hotel within walking distance of the centre of Cambridge.
Friendly, helpful staff and straightforward check-in/check-out. Family room and en suite slightly cramped but fine for a single night with most of the day out. Awkward but manageable parking for a large seven-seater MPV.

The host is freiendly but they do not pick up the call in n the reception after 6pm if you need anything.

Nice hotel which is very well located for exploring Cambridge. Has parking at the rear which while the space can be tight, is a valuable asset for the area.

could not give me the room I had reserved and paid and the alternative provided was too small

Good location but could be refurbished. It was looking worn around the edges. A deep clean would help.

We had trouble finding the hotel, but when we did we was very pleased. We was put in room 5 by Andrew the owner who was very kind. We had parking there and was a 20 minutes walk to the centre of Cambridge.

Absolutely fine but no butter substitute at otherwise excellent breakfast

Prior to our stay at this B&B I had already had problems regarding the payment so the manager proceeded to include a free breakfast for myself and my partner as a welcome apology. Upon arrival to the guest house we were however informed that there was another problem, this time with the twin room we had booked. Although a bit vague on what the problem was, the manager offered us two double bedrooms in the annexe across the road as an alternative which we were more than happy with. The rooms we had were around the right size for the price we paid but they were quite dusty and aside from some lights not working and old water being left in the kettle, they were ok. Breakfast was average, but if you are looking for a cheap B&B in Cambridge which is just somewhere to stay for a night or two then this is somewhere to consider.

The hotel is OK, nothing really wrong with the room or bed. It is a bit of a walk into town, but not too far. I was only really annoyed by the misrepresentation of the hotel on the Expedia listing. Our room was listed with a free breakfast and free parking. The hotel has no parking area at all, so the free parking is whatever you can find in the streets around the hotel. Even though the booking button included a free breakfast, the confirmation email didn't mention breakfast and on arrival we were told breakfast was not included. On showing the owner the Expedia listing he did the right thing and agreed to include breakfast without any fuss.

We found this guesthouse very disappointing. We were originally in the front room, which faced onto a busy road and was very noisy throughout the night. The curtains were also totally inadequate for blocking out streetlights, so my wife and I had very little sleep for 2 nights. The bathroom was so tiny one had to sit sideways on the toilet. We asked to change rooms and were then moved to a room at the back. This was a bit better, although still small, but the shower would oscillate between scalding hot and freezing cold even when one didn't change the controls. There was also a lot of noise from within the guesthouse.
On a positive note, the staff were very courteous and attentive and the breakfast was of a good quality. They provided special food requests (soy milk) when asked.
