We had an excellent stay of 4 nights, split 2-and-2, as we were doing the Classic Inca Trail. The hotel is unique for its charming architecture and aesthetic, which adds to the travel experience of being in foreign parts. The room was beautiful and, again, unique. The staff are very friendly and efficient and will help you out with any questions and requests. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, and our room had an amazing view of Cusco. Everything is very clean, and the hotel does provide unlimited bottles of purified water (very important!). Would definitely stay there again, and in the same room! I highly recommend the Hotel Arqueologo.

We had the pleasure to stay here twice during our Cusco visit. Although I booked the same exact room, the first time around we didn’t not have a kitchenette. The second time, we did, but there was no mini fridge until our last day. Overall, this place was fantastic as we are not fussy people and we like it quie. The hotel is usually desolate as most people are usually on a tour or something. But this was a plus for us. We stayed a total of 8 nights and about 4/8 we were in the hotel just relaxing. The decor is antique chic but perfectly laid out. It all felt some welcoming. The staff is super attentive, although, they’re mostly running on a skeleton crew, everyone we had an encounter with was amazing. The breakfast could use a bit more variety, but it was satisfactory enough. They also provide a box breakfast if you cannot make the actually breakfast at the hotel. They also offer luggage storage for when you head to Machu Picchu. They have drinking water and an electric kettle in the rooms. The online complain is the insanity of the hot water schedule!! But we did make it work, for the exception of those early mornings headed out for tours. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is beautiful, the room is great. Wonderful beds where we were able to rest well. Very clean. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We felt like at home! 😊

The hotel is beautiful. Our room was nice, although we expected a little more as it listed a kitchenette, however as of this review we are currently on our second half of this stay, I will review more completely once our stay is done. Only complaint is the insane schedule of the hot water, which is super inconvenient if you like showering in the morning. It isn’t turned on until 0500 hrs and most tours leave at 0400. Overall our first 2 days in Cusco were great in the hotel, but our second half which I will reviewed after the stay is done, the room is MUCH MUCH BETTER. Kitchenette and all.

Outstanding staffing and a lovely garden breakfast restaurants

The staff are well trained by the owner who is extremely helpful and very detail oriented. Staff are very knowledgeable and willing to help set up excursions big or small. We will be returning here and highly recommend this place.

MOBILITY ISSUES AND POOR VALUE FOR MONEY. Poor flow on shower and toilets did not flush. Room on 2 levels connected by spiral staircase. Very tricky for anyone with mobility issues. Breakfast was not value for money. Yogurt OR 1 scrambled egg with bread and coffee. At this price I would expect a real breakfast. friendly staff and quirt room.

The room was very big and the bed comfortable, and it’s in a great location. Very reasonable price and very nice staff.

So disappointing!! We donnot recommend it at all! No one at the reception. We waited 10mins outside in the cold until someone opened (it was 8pm and not the middle of the night!) Super cold in the room, not so clean. The toilet flush didn’t work (you needed to push 5 times for it to work). The shower was clogged. The hot water and heating are available only at specific hours. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom but it also didn’t work (and it was freezing so good way to catch a cold). Nobody at the reception ever (so you can’t even complain to anyone!!) It was written breakfast starts at 7am but there was nothing at that time and still no reception to complain about it. We paid for the breakfast and didn’t get one. I call it stealing. They don’t change towels everyday and they don’t clean. Only making the beds. The location is good but take into consideration that it’s in a high street so you need to go up a lot to get to the hotel. Overall: bad experience!! Way way way too expensive for what it’s worth. There are better hotels for better prices (even hostel).

Staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Experienced a rough first day but the staff fixed everything so that we could have a quiet and fun stay.

This is the best hotel we've stayed at during the two weeks in Peru (six hotels in total). Interie is cute and unique, bed is super comfy, room is quiet all the time, and very sustainability concious. Hand soap, shampoo and water bottle are all refillable, hot water is only available in the morning and night, and there is sorted recycling (!!!). Staff doesnt speak much English but super nice and attentive. They accomendated me for my request for breakfast when i had to leave early for tours and flight. If you want sustainable amenities and a cute inerior, this is for you

We had an excellent stay at the Arqueologo!! The location was perfect -- just a short walk to the main plaza and all kinds of bars and restaurants. The host was very attentive and the coca leaf tea in the lobby came in very handy for our early excursions. Would definitely stay here again!

Charming little place about 10 min from the square -super convenient and loved the treestyled rooms!

The building is a beautiful structure; our room was just as beautiful as the promotional pictures illustrate. Our bed was incredibly comfortable. The restaurant and bar which are promoted as being onsite in the pictures were not open. We had spotty internet for the first 2 days and then nothing for the remainder of our 8-day stay. Breakfast is good and the people who work in the building are extraordinarily friendly. This location is about 2 blocks from the main square making it convenient without having to endure the noise of a public square. This is a beautiful facility; it just seems like it isn't getting the TLC that it once had. Hopefully as travel increases this too will change for the better.

THE PLACE IS NOT OPEN!!!! Don't get left out in the cold.

The owner is unscrupulous. He tried to charge me for a stay I'd already paid for. When a travel ban out of the country (Perú) was imposed he wanted to be paid in cash only but he didn't want to provide a receipt. Needless to say, we left as soon as possible.

Cusco is a great place to experience Peru in all its variety and color. Perfect spot from which to do day trips to important sites, some fine museums, and excellent food in a range of prices and styles. Hotel is wonderfully funky, terrific staff, part of historic center of town. People-watching is always fun.
